It was nearly completed. For the better part of a week, Kyrie had been working industriously on a secret hiding place within the gardens of her home. Tucked safely amongst some bushes, she had constructed a large hide away using whatever materials she could find. For hours she weaved branches, rope, reeds, bits of cloth, and even some of her feathers into her creation. As her construction drew to an end, a round-ish wigwam stood where a small open space had once been. Inside, there was enough room for one, maybe two if the parties did not mind being cozy. Using a couple of stolen pillows from the family's living space and her bedroom, she carefully arranged them around her secret space.
With a final basket of random trinkets she had collected both over time and in a quick sweep of her home, she returned and began to place the items carefully. Some of them she tied to the outside of her nest, most of the others found a home within the cozy walls. When that task finally drew to a close, she felt restless and decided that no, things were not perfect yet. Slowly, she began shifting her trinkets around, some moving inside while others were moved out. The more she worked, the more frustrated she began to feel. As her frustration mounted, she could something inside of herself begin to build up. Just when she was sure she was going to burst, she actually did in the form of feathers! Her entire body was suddenly covered in feathers! Giving a shocked caw, she dropped the crystal she had been hanging, scrambled out of her nest, and ran full tilt back to her family's home, leaving a trail of black feathers in her wake.
"Mom! Momma!" she both called and crowed, her feet suddenly slipping out from under her as soon as she got to the marble flooring. Looking down at her feet, she saw rough legs and claws where five toes had once been.

Cosine looked up from her books at the sound of her daughter's distress and stood quickly. She did not like the tone and urgency of it. She could sense her fear, which told her this was not a minor argument with her brother and sister. "I'm here Kyrie." She said, hurrying out into the hall and almost running into her daughter. She blinked a little as she saw her, not her little crowling anymore ... it had begun.

Kyrie looked from her taloned feet and suddenly realized that in her fall, the new feathers had plumed off of her to litter the hallway. In their place was her same dark skin, but most certainly not the child's body that had been there moments before. Lifting her head, she looked up to her mother.
"What happened Momma?" she asked her softly. She had been witness to her mother's change, but her child's mind had been unable to comprehend what it would mean for her as a goddess as well. She was in awe and, honestly, a little afraid too. There had been no indication that this was coming, at least none that she had noticed. Looking back down at herself, she lifted one leg to gently touch the rough skin that led to her feet. They were just like her crows' feet. She really was turning into a crow!

Cosine breathed in at the look of distress on her daughter's face and in her eyes. Her baby, though not a baby anymore. She was grown, a youth. "It's okay sweetie, you've changed, like me remember?" She said softly, holding her hand out to her daughter. "You are coming into your power."

Kyrie breathed in deeply at this and carefully eased herself up into a sitting position. Looking down at herself, she admired her larger hands and the longer feathers on her arms. Letting her eyes roam over herself, she took in the changes, the most notable being her new figure and the birds' feet where hers had once been. Reaching up, she ran her hand over her longer beak, then looked up at her mother with a sparkle of excitement in her blue eyes. Now that she had been informed that what had happened had been quite normal, she was rather excited to be growing up. She wanted to be big like her mother and to be able to go out into the world like her father.
"What do you think Momma?" she asked as she carefully pushed herself up to her feet. She wobbled a bit on the uncertain footing of the marble flooring and quickly reached out to catch herself on her mother's arm. "Am I pretty like you?" she asked the most important question on her mind.

Cosine placed her hand over her daughter's as she helped steady her and smiled warmly. "Of course, much prettier than me I think." She laughed, the goddess had never really considered herself in such a way, but being a Crow she could see that her daughter might have a stoke of vanity in her. "Come with me, we'll find you some clothes that fit." She said, leading her daughter into the master bedroom. "Something of mine will do until you go and find your own things."

Kyrie preened at her mother's compliment and she turned her attention to maintaining her balance on her new feet. It wasn't so difficult once she let instincts take over. Still, she kept her hand on her mother's arm as they walked to her parents' bedroom. "Thank you Momma," she smiled and then glanced over her shoulder. "Do you think that Cae and Isi have grown too?" she asked. Part of her did not want them to just yet. It would be kind of nice to be special for a little bit. But on the same token, she wanted them to grow with her. She didn't want to leave them behind. She wanted to share this experience alongside them.

Cosine smiled and went to her wardrobe. There were not many dresses inside, though what did hang there was pretty much the same style, just in different colours. She pulled out a blue one that she thought might suite Kyrie and handed it to her. "I don't know, it's possible." She said with a smile. "The only young one I know of that has grown is your cousin Kios." Cosine hoped that they would not all grow at once. One was shocking enough.

Kyrie smiled at the mention of her cousin. She couldn't wait to show him that she had grown as well. Reaching for the gauzy dress, she carefully pulled it on. She did not want to put her beak through it by accident. Once it was settled, she was honestly surprised that it mostly fit her. Turning to a large mirror, she ran her hands over the material. She really was beginning to look like her mother in some aspects. "What do you think Daddy is going to think?" she asked with another excited sparkle in her eyes. To be perfectly honest, she couldn't wait to show off to everyone she knew. She almost didn't know where to begin.

Cosine watched her for a moment and closed the wardrobe, a smirk playing on her lips. Ankou was going to have kittens. "I think he will be very surprised." She replied, they both knew the time would come, though so soon? "But pleased I am sure, to see you have grown up so well."

Kyrie fluffed her feathers and bounced over to her mother to throw her arms around her. "Thank you Momma," she smiled and gave her mother a squeeze. "You're the best. I want to go find Cae and Isi and show them what has happened! I hope they haven't changed yet. I want to tell them that it isn't scary," she grinned and pulled back.

"Well, I am sure they will be very excited." She imagined Caelia would be rather jealous, she was always so impatient. "Try not to show off too much. You might have grown but you still have a lot to learn about the world and becoming a goddess." She raised an eyebrow, ever practical.

Kyrie looked up into her mother's eyes and nodded her understanding. "I know Momma. But I know that I have good teachers to help me learn," she smiled and squeezed her mother's hands with another surge of excitement. "I'll go seek them out now! Thank you for the dress Momma!" she exclaimed and turned to bounce out of the massive bedroom to seek her siblings out.
