Biography/History:
Logan grew up outside Landown and enlisted when he was 17 years old, lying about his age to get into the military. He enlisted as infantry but quickly showed his talents were better employed elsewhere after a handful of operations. The Gears Reconnaissance training was one of the hardest things Logan had voluntarily put himself through. He pushed through and came out the other side as a recce patrolman. Logan was thrown into Alpha squad under the tutelage of Sergeant Lyn Ross, who took him on as a spotter. The two became friends and proved to be a deadly team, never missing a target. Logan was the only survivor from Alpha squad after a botched operation that led to Ross' death. Sergeant Ross was posthumously awarded the Embry Star, which was given to Logan to hold on to. He still carries it with him everywhere in a hardened case on his belt.
Due to the nature of his new job Logan was put to the grindstone every time his unit deployed, but the danger and difficulty payed off in the form of fast promotions. In a few years he made Sergeant and started leading his own patrols. Sergeant Kayez is master sniper qualified and has instructed recruits in becoming snipers. His preference is to fulfill the spotter role but is highly capable and deadly as a shooter. Logan prefers using the Mk1 Lancer over the newer Mk2, claiming that the chainsaw bayonet is needlessly loud.
