Kilroy couldn't help it, he flinched at Flash's tone, ears gone down, and tail tucked up tight to his body. He made a gesture over towards Asunder. "He just... ceased." No, that wasn't the right word. But he couldn't think of the right one, so he just shrugged. "sfineIguess," he mumbled looking between the Big Guy and the... Oh wow, there were others. Where did she come from?
Before he could ruminate on that thought, his stomach rumbled and he looked mournfully over at the peanut butter sandwiches. ... But what if he stopped too? He didn't want to stop, it looked boring and just a little bit frightening. He could miss things! Like more Others coming in. Or finding out if the ceiling was the tallest thing ever.
None of his other fellow pups had stopped, so clearly, the secret had to be eating it fast, so the sammich couldn't stop him. Mind made up, he nodded to himself and trotted determinedly over to the diminishing pile. With one quick motion, he yanked out a sandwich and tried to fit the whole thing in his mouth at once.

Renegade is... torn. Food is a necessity. Fuel for the engine. He needs it to keep going. But... there's so much to DO. So much that needs to be done. The sooty red pup stands on all fours, his head swung towards the doorway, the way out into the world that needs help; his body straining towards the plate of sandwiches, driven by instinctive hunger and need for food. A thin little whine escapes the back of his throat, a mixture of frustration and need blending together to form that keening, reedy sound. In the end, his body wins out... for now. Soon though, soon the mind will control the body. Its a promise to himself, even as he snatches up a sandwich, wolfing it down in huge, sloppy bites that leave sticky smears around his muzzle. A big glob of jelly is stuck to the top of one paw. And the pup himself seems consumed with licking his chops... and the roof of his mouth. Peanut butter is STICKY. He presents something of a caricature, to a point. The pup trying to clean the peanut butter from the roof of his mouth by rolling his tongue over his palate, over and over again. The caricature ends at the eyes, the burning drive so clearly visible. Its not obsession... yet. But it carries all the earmarks of it, the beginnings.
Looking towards the adults, he gives up on trying to get the peanut butter out of his mouth for the moment, piping up. "What's the plan, then? Is this 'home'? Can we come and go as we please or is there a schedule?"

It wasn't his fault he had a hard time concentrating on the present. The fire within raged and consumed most of his ability to think of it, urging him towards the bright future. He could plan out future events...but when it came to the day they were currently in? Good luck.
"I'm quite interested in what you've found, but let's get the pups settled first" And really, she should be thankful he managed to think that far ahead. Pups were cute, but he didn't want them getting involved in what he was working on.
Not -yet- at least.
His gaze shifted over to the one who had spoken up. So many ways to answer that...but....
"This is home, should you wish to call it that. I refuse to be a tyrant and therefore I will not hold you to staying here. There is plenty of rooms for you all to have one if you do stay, and plenty of space to grow. You may come and go as you please...my only rule is that you don't bring anyone back to this place that hasn't been cleared by myself or Ash. Break this one rule and punishment will be swift and merciless....I am not in the mood to deal with anything endangering my plans."
Yes, it was a pretty tense warning...but otherwise he seemed like a good guy. Free room and board, freedom to come and go as they wanted. It wasn't such a bad deal was it? He just didn't want any unannounced guests.
Really, was that such a -bad- thing?
...Though he was looking restless. Gaze constantly shifting between the pups and tail twitching behind him. Possible that he just couldn't take standing still for very long.
