Bio:
Thresh is a corrupted Kishin who has wandered the lands for a long long time. Some say that he predates the DWMA being created and existed at the time of Asura's rise. Going way back, to when Thresh was actually a human, he was the warden of a prison that contained the most sick minded and psychotic people, deemed to dangerous to ever see the light of day. It was to say that their crazy rubbed off on Thresh as well, as he loved to torture those that he imprisoned, particularly with chains. He was a sadistic individual who relished the art of torture and often ended up torturing some of the people to death. One day there was a riot and the prisoners were slayed one after the other by Thresh, leaving corrupted souls everywhere. However one human against many was still too overwhelming, and soon Thresh had succumbed to death by being hanged by the very chains he used to torture. However rather than dying, the corrupted souls that had been lying around moved toward him for some strange unknown reason. These dark and corrupted souls resurrected Thresh and he came into being as the Infernal Chain Warden. A demon brought to life for his love of torture and death that even the souls of the corrupted were drawn to him like moths to a flame. Thresh ended up killing all one thousand and fifty criminals in the prison, a fullscale slaughter after being brought back from the dead, and that is how he became a Kishin. Since then, Thresh has been wandering the lands in search of souls to feed his ever growing hunger and desire for death and violence, and will not stop until his own Kishin Soul has been ripped from his chest. He keeps the souls of those he slays in his lantern, which is indestructable and draws power from the souls of the lost and forgotten.
Abilities/Powers:
Soul Absorption: If Thresh's Kusarigama (Chain Sickle) wraps around an opponent, it will slowly drain the target's soul. The target is temporarily immobilized and stunned when they are first struck. While Thresh absorbs his target's soul, he gains a portion of one of their abilities, the strength of this ability varies with how much the Kusarigama has absorbed from the target. The ability can be copied because the portion of the soul that Thresh drains will contain copied memories and experiences that Thresh can utilize to advantage. This can allow him to know how to use an ability and its effects. This gained ability is only temporary and will wear off over time.
The first post that the person allows themselves to get caught will be stunned for their next post directly after getting caught in the Kusarigama. The amount drained is 1/10th of their health. Thresh will gain one random ability from the opponent [Most likely from a dice roll 1=First power 2=Second power, etc]. This ability gives Thresh access to a maximum of two random abilities. By stacking this ability he simply gains a portion of the opponent's ability and will follow the positives and negatives of said ability, at about half of its power. Thresh has to wait ten posts before being able to copy another ability. The gained ability can be used for three posts max. Abilities such as Soul Resonance or abilities that require another cannot be copied.
Soul Shield: Thresh can use his Lantern to cast a ghostly shield composed of the souls Thresh has captured. This shield will protect him from physical damage and can also be used to protect nearby allies from damage as well for a brief period of time.
Thresh carries 10 souls on him at all times for this ability. If he kills an NPC he will gain 1 soul for this ability. The Soul Shield will protect Thresh and his allies from any physical damage from Weapons or physical attacks from Meisters, however any Soul Resonance can pass through the barrier, but it will partially weaken and significantly slow the ability down to be dodged. After turning the shield off, Thresh has to wait for 5 posts before reusing this ability. This ability will reduce damage from ranged attacks but magic can easily pass through it. 2 souls are required to protect an ally for 1 post from a normal ability/attack and 5 souls are required to protect an ally for 1 post from a powerful attack/ability such as Soul Resonance. After he uses up the amount of available souls he has to wait 5 posts to refresh to 10 souls for this ability.
Tainted Souls: A tracking ability that Thresh likes to use to hunt and torment his victims, Thresh is able to impart a part of his own soul onto a target's soul which effectively acts like a beacon, telling Thresh where his prey is until the next time they meet. However this ability can only be used on two people at a time and after the next encounter will return the portion of Thresh's soul that he left with the target back to him along with a portion of their soul.
Thresh has to be within close proximity to the target in order to transfer a portion of his soul to the target without the target noticing. He will normally break off a combat encounter because he loses a part of his own soul and doesn't want to further weaken himself in the process. Thresh will know everywhere the target goes and can follow them. When Thresh encounters the 'tainted' victim, his soul will move towards his dark aura and drag along a bit of his opponent's soul, draining them of 1/10 of their health.
Paranoia: Often used with his Tainted Soul ability, Paranoia is Thresh's way of playing with or distracting his target. If the target has their soul tainted, then Thresh can talk directly to their minds as well as conjure images that only they can see. These can range from twisted memories that he makes up to figures that seem like they are real and ready to fight. To someone who is not corrupted by this ability, it would seem they are talking/fighting air.
Paranoia is a harassment like ability that torments victims who are tainted. He can conjure figures that do not exist to distract his opponent or to further drive his opponent insane. It also allows Thresh to telepathically communicate with his target, which can be useful if used on someone he works with to coordinate attacks, although a portion of their soul will still be taken when his own returns to him.
Seeking Chains: Thresh's chains extend to unknown lengths, and a majority of them are stored in a different dimension. He can pull on his chain and will continually be able to extend his range from the two skull like heads that are at his hips. He can also open up little pocket dimensions and portals so that he can string chains around his opponent from all directions and pin them to where they stand.
Thresh can open up to 4 different pocket portals that can shoot chains from them that surround his opponent and chain them to the spot where they stand. He can also use these portals to absorb and redirect projectile/energy related attacks that are small enough to fit through the portal. The portals are about 1 feet in diameter.
Infernal Army: Thresh can release the trapped souls of the dead from his lantern and resurrect them as ghostly wraiths. These wraiths can attack his opponents and are immune to any physical attack. They often overwhelm and tear an enemy to bits, till there are nothing left but bloody ribbons of flesh and broken bones. However they are vulnerable to bright sources of light and magic as well as soul related attacks.
Thresh can summon up to ten wraiths to attack his opponent(s). These wraiths cannot be harmed by physical damage such as punches or Weapons, unless the Weapon is utilizing a soul related attack. These wraiths are very fragile in bright light and are easily 'killed' by magic. If exposed to bright lights, the wraiths become tangible and are able to be physically hit.
Demon Prison: This is Thresh's trump card in any fight. Thresh conjures a pentagon shaped prison of spectral walls composed of corrupted souls of Kishins that he has consumed that span over a fifty feet distance from the center. In order to cast this ability, Thresh takes half of his own soul and begins to absorb bits from those around him. Once he gathers enough power from souls, he conjures it into a small sphere and then throws it into the ground, shattering it to create the prison. These walls will damage anyone who tries to escape it and is much like trying to break through a steel wall and will not break unless an extreme amount of force is exerted such as a Soul Resonance. The floors of the prison will significantly slow down the opponent's movement speed and also drain portions of the target's soul. After an extended period of time, their soul will, if not already, have become corrupted by the Madness trapped in the souls of the Kishin walls. Conversely, Thresh can use this ability to shield himself from anyone on the outside, or should someone be able to escape the Prison before it is fully formed. It creates a large shield like structure that will allow Thresh to recover by absorbing any nearby souls on the outside trying to break through and healing his own soul to compensate for the half of his soul used to cast the ability. The prison disappears once he regains all of the energy from the souls used to create the prison.
Thresh traps the opponent(s) in a large pentagon shaped prison which will prevent escape to another forum until, either a prison wall is broken or Thresh is defeated, in which the walls will dissipate and restore the target's health. After 30 posts of fighting with Thresh in his Prison, the target will have a majority of their soul drained, and will be unable to fight, and will [under the consent of the opponent] have their soul be corrupted into a demon/kishin. After 20 posts of combat within the prison, should the opponent manage to escape, they will be 'tainted' which allows Thresh to know where they are until their next encounter. If there is someone outside of the Prison trying to get to him, the prison walls will slowly drain the target's soul.
Personality:
Thresh is a sadistic and cruel individual who takes great pleasure in tormenting those he haunts. This is in due part to his life when he was 'living' as a warden who loved torturing his 'subjects'. He enjoys receiving and dealing pain and is often seen as a psychotic Kishin spirit who roams the land, collecting souls.
