Here you will find descriptions of all the major areas around the Murmuring Pines territory. Refer here for all available locations and places of interest at Murmuring Pines Psychic Summer Camp and Majesco Psychic Academy.
You are not limited to roleplay in these locations! If you want to invite a camp or school friend over to your house or some other location, that's perfectly acceptable! Please just be clear in labeling where the RP is happening, as per our roleplay regulations.
To familiarize yourself with the setting and story, please read the main thread's front page.

x➧ ENTRANCE/EXIT
Parking Lot A rounded parking lot with staff, visitor, and handicapped spaces. Overhanging the entrance is a large sign with the camp name and insignia. It is usually empty, save for a golf cart that Nurse Lacey typically drives. You may see other faculty members using it as well, most commonly Counselor Monroe.
➧ CAMPGROUNDS
Rolling hills and dirt paths line the campgrounds. You'll find picnic tables, waste bins, outhouses, and other amenities scattered all around the camp with accessible frequency. There are also bulletin boards where anyone may post notes and communicate. It's a good way to reach other campers, as only faculty members are allowed to use the camp's PA system. When lessons aren't going, you might find faculty members scattered about the camp but most often you will find people outside or in the main lodge. Agent Pinkerton can often be spotted on the lodge's steps with his acoustic guitar.
The Main Lodge A tall and sturdy brick building, the main lodge is where the dirt path from the parking lot leads and branches off to other areas of the camp. Inside you will find several rows of tables, a serving area connecting to the kitchen, as well as a small stage and podium in front of a large warm fireplace. Upstairs is the office, where you might find Scoutmaster Spektor or Agent Moon. The office is equipped with one computer, a land-line telephone, printer, copier, and fax machine. It also has the only source of internet on the camp, so if you have a device you want to browse with you need to get the WiFi code here -- sorry, it won't work outside of the lodge's walls. The main lodge is also the only building on the campgrounds with indoor plumbing, so if you aren't a fan of outhouses you better make frequent pit stops!
Cafeteria Everyone is called to meals at the main lodge via the camp's PA system; 8AM is breakfast, 11AM is lunch, and 5PM is dinner. The camp provides the usual fare of cold cereal and milk for breakfast, various sandwiches for lunch, and portioned dishes for dinner. However, if you have special dietary needs, the camp will attend to them and prepare your meals as necessary with ingredients from the campus grocery store. Snacks and drinks may be purchased from the cafeteria at any time, while meals are free.
Lost & Found The camp keeps a small picnic table with a box seated on top in the far corner of the cafeteria. It works on an honor system, so they hope you won't take things that aren't actually yours (but considering everyone here is psychic, why would you even want to try?). If you've misplaced something, be sure to check here!
Play/TV Rooms Upstairs, you will find separate rooms with the intended purpose of entertainment. The TV room has a medium sized tube television that has all of the necessary hookups to allow console gaming. The camp has even provided a video game console for use, though they have received complaints that the Nintendo 64 is dated. Bean bag chairs litter the floor around the TV that unfortunately only gets about five channels but at least two of them are cartoons. The play room is larger than the TV room and contains a large wooden chest full of assorted toys that are often mismatched or in semi-disrepair, as they were all donated or found missing. Please return all toys to the chest when you're done playing! A closet in the play room contains a lot of arts and crafts supplies, but the closet is locked and Mona Sinclair carries the key.
Emergency Shelter & Bedding In times of inclement weather, the main lodge is the emergency shelter. Staff will round everyone on the grounds up in the building and keep them away from windows while supplying safety instructions and various forms of entertainment. There are cots available in the event the weather continues overnight. These cots may also be used for any campers that do not feel comfortable bunking in the cabins or student counselors that are staying on campgrounds for ease of access.
Camp Store Run by Nurse Lacey (though sometimes managed by other faculty members or teacher assistants), the camp store is open during meal times and has a small variety of essentials for any psychic camping experience!
Infirmary RV Most often, Nurse Lacey can be found in a recreational vehicle that is used as a portable infirmary, which is generally parked right outside the main lodge. It contains all of the utilities and amenities of a proper infirmary, as well as two beds and a very small private bathroom. Lacey usually just drives a golf cart around the campgrounds to transport any kids that might need aid.
➧ RECEPTION
Campfire Area Immediately branching off from the main lodge's path will lead you to Murmuring Pines' reception area. A large campfire is surrounded by hollowed logs for seating and a large tree stump has been carved to act as a stage for outdoor assemblies and camp greetings, if the weather is nice. Sometimes a projector is brought out for presentations or movie nights. Agent Talbot is often found in this area at night, looking for psitanium.
➧ KID'S CABINS
The path from Reception leads directly to the cabins.
➧ LAKE PEREGRINE
A path from the main lodge leads to this camp's largest body of water. Much smaller than its sister lake of Oblongata at Camp Whispering Rock, Lake Peregrine shares the algae filled green waters and pale sandy shore. Fish of all kinds swim freely in the lake and seagulls may occasionally flock. There is a boathouse where you can take out canoes or paddle boats with permission from Instructor Eaton, who is the life guard on duty. There is a pier with a few interconnecting docks. Lake Peregrine also has a roped off swim zone where the boats and fish won't interfere. The area is netted off just before the lake becomes too deep.
➧ WILDERNESS
A path branches off from the lake towards the campus and academy grounds. Designated hiking trails and safe pathways are fenced off and protected, but it is possible to leave the path. Pine trees surround the area, patches broken by rivers and streams connecting to the lake. There are also numerous caves in the rockier hillsides. Do not wander into the wilderness alone! Exploration off the path is highly discouraged and dangerous. Many wild animals make their home here, including bears, cougars, and wolves. If you would like to leave the campgrounds for any reason, please find a member of staff to escort or transport you. Who are we kidding, you'll probably go off alone anyway. Just be safe and use what you were taught in class if you need to defend yourself!

x➧ MAIN BUILDING
Majesco Psychic Academy is stationed within a long, L shaped, two story building that is drab, grey, and generally unassuming. The lights and windows are yellowed, the roof of the building is completely flat with no student access, and the building has central air and heating. It is also wheelchair accessible, with ramps and a service elevator.
Front Office The front office is where the majority of paperwork business is conducted, as well as where school announcements are given over the PA system by Dean Spektor or any club representatives. Here you will frequently find Agent Moon acting as the secretary. The dean's office is here, though the door is usually closed. You'll likely only see the inside of her office for parent conferences or if you are in serious need of disciplinary action.
Classrooms Generally teachers claim a single classroom from the standard set to use for their psychic and scholastic lessons, though sometimes they might have students travel to another location for better use. Classrooms are used extensively for scholastic lessons, as well as function as seating areas for psychic lessons while you roam an instructor's psyche. There are science and computer labs within the school and, thankfully, the academic technology available is not stuck in the 1970s! You can expect to find PC systems at least equipped with Windows XP Professional. Still might be due for an upgrade.
Teacher Offices Connected to a teacher's favored classroom, in lieu of supply closets, are their offices. Most teachers keep their offices as private meeting rooms and they are decorated expressly with whatever personal flavor they have. Instructor Faust's office is utilized as a private space for himself, where he grades and compiles lesson plans, while the classroom itself is used for meetings. Mr. Monroe's office is the guidance counselor room on the ground floor, but actual counseling takes part in a small secluded corner of his mental world.
Cafeteria The cafeteria in the academy is neatly arranged with large rounded tables in a wide open space with large windows overlooking the courtyard, where you can also choose to eat as there are several picnic tables as well. Here you will also find the teacher's lounge. Breakfast is made available at 7AM and consists of cold cereal, oatmeal, or cream of wheat. Students and faculty are called to lunch at 1PM and are given a full hour to eat before returning to class. Mid-morning announcements are played over the PA system. What is served for lunch changes daily but generally favors alliteration, such as Taco Tuesdays. Turkey sandwiches, pizza, burgers, and sloppy joes are also common. Snacks and drinks may be purchased from vending machines throughout the building at any time, and everything is an affordable 25c.
Library Majesco's library is large, with an average sized fiction section and an extensive non-fiction collection. It contains a small computer lab for research purposes, doubles as a study hall, and in general is a quiet place where students can escape for a while. There are also audio books and videos (some surprisingly still in VHS format) that can be borrowed. The library accepts donations so, if you have any you're tired of, bring them here. Agent Talbot and Agent Pinkerton are often found here, reading or book keeping.
Infirmary Despite the nurse smoking like a chimney, you can find no trace of nicotine or ash here. Everything smells clean and sterile, as it should. The infirmary has a waiting room with a sign in sheet and several chairs. There is a small TV hung up on the wall that only ever seems to play old cowboy movies. Nurse Lacey's desk is in the very next room, which connects to and oversees the four beds in the back that are all partitioned by curtains. There is a single unit bathroom here for optimum privacy.
Auditorium A medium sized stage with a moderate amount of seating, the auditorium is where everyone gathers for assemblies, seminars, and guest speakers. Unless these meetings are in response to sudden emergencies, they will always be announced and reminded of several days in advance. Students may also utilize the auditorium for plays, if demand is high enough, but theater group is not a covered electoral and would need to be started as a club. See the Bulletin Board for more information!
School Store Run by Nurse Lacey (though sometimes managed by other faculty members or teacher assistants), the school store is open during meal times and provides a plethora of items to enhance any psychic experience.
➧ GYMNASIUM
An important location for your physical well being (did you know most psychics ignore their body in favor of their brain? truly shocking), as well as the academy's designated emergency shelter, the facility's gym is well equipped for all manner of exercise. It has a weight room, gymnastic equipment, and all sorts of sport utilities. There is an indoor pool sectioned in half for those who merely want to play and lounge or those who wish to do laps. There's also a collection of pool floaties and noodles. Outside you will find a track field, a playing field, and a sectioned off black top area for basket ball, tennis, or other containable sports.
➧ FACULTY HOUSING
The dean, instructors, faculty, teacher assistants, and any agents on site take up rooms here.
➧ DORMITORIES
Student housing is split into three separate buildings near faculty housing.
➧ ENTRANCE/EXIT
Parking Lot A squared off parking lot with student, faculty, visitor, and handicapped spaces. It is located directly near the entrance and exit of the facility, which is stationed at the rear of the academy. Staff vehicles rarely leave this parking lot, even during the Summer, unless they are away on missions or taking leave at home.
➧ WILDERNESS
A branching path from the parking lot leads toward the summer camp. Who are we kidding, you'll probably go off alone anyway. Just be safe and use what you were taught in class if you need to defend yourself!
Geodesic Psycho-Isolation Chambers Along the way, closer to campus, a path branches toward a secluded bit of woods. Here you will find the GPC, a set of elevated chambers with sharp metal exteriors and cushioned interiors. A sixth sensory deprivation tank, the GPC is a hermetically sealed metaphysical hot box. In other words, it's solitary confinement for psychics. It was used extensively for psychic testing prior to laws and safety precautions changing in the 1950s and have since been in disuse. Many psychics, children and adults alike, fear the GPC. Unfortunately, some bullies like to lock their victims inside. Doing so will have dire consequences.

x➧ CAMPUS
Nestled in the wilderness between the two facilities, the campus is a landmark a mile apart from the camp on one side and the academy on the other; it is a small slice of suburban landscape built among the forest. The campus is a cozy and convenient retreat for campers, students, and faculty alike that relieves them of any need to leave the territory for neighboring towns except in extreme circumstances. Here you can find a pet-friendly park, a playground, and a skate park. There are also some rivers and streams around marked for fishing, and a pond that can be used as a swimming hole that has a tire swing on a branch. The swimming hole can also be used for ice skating in Winter with supervision, if the ice is solid enough.
➧ OUTLETS
There are many stores available on campus that insure all supply needs are met between the academy and summer camp. Here you will find a grocery store that carries specialty food items (or may have these items delivered if they are not already in stock), for any of your dietary needs, including kosher products. Their pharmacy contains an array of over the counter medications, vitamins, various toiletries and other necessities, as well as a prescription counter. There is a clothing outlet, though choices are limited and stuck between retro or professional, as well as a pet supply store for all of your food, toy, and grooming needs!
Entertainment Further into the convenience strip is a small assortment of eatery and entertainment venues. The arcade contains various cabinet video games and a claw machine for various toys. There is a roller rink for skating that runs couple skating events and disco nights. A small bowling alley is connected to the roller rink within the same building, though there only appears to be duckpin available. One of the more popular venues is the 1950s style diner and malt shop, which has a jukebox and is most active during the weekends. Unfortunately there is no movie theater, however, sometimes the faculty will set up a projector for movie viewing at the reception area of camp, inside the main lodge, or in any of the classrooms at the academy.
➧ PARKING LOT
The campus' parking lot is much smaller than the others at the facility and is home to a single touring bus. The bus is rarely used but present for transporting campers that live in the next town over and is available for field trips. Depending on how many young psychics attend, there may be more buses parked here in the future.
