History: His name is a slight joke from his great-grandmother who was there from his birth. On his left butt cheek is a small birthmark in almost the exact shape of a circle. For some reason the very old woman thought it would be hilarious to call him "Circle" And since no one could get her to change her mind from calling him that, they picked it as his name.
Growing up in Aquor hold wasn't much different from growing up in any hold. They were deep in the jungle and relied on the dragons, runners and river for trade and supplies when they could not grow the ones they needed. His parents were both people who worked on the river. His mother helped mend nets for fishing and mostly took care of the family while his father worked on a boat travelling from Iteos to Aquor and back. Since the trip was a few days long sometimes it would be weeks before he would see his father.
While he wasn't burdened with any siblings, he had many cousins. His father came from a large brood and most of the people in the hold were related to him some how. So while his father and his uncles and aunts were busy with work, his mother somehow became the designated babysitter for the younger ones of their extended family, and being that he was a child at least half his life, he was left with his cousins.
After he turned 12, he started to spend more time with his father on the boat, learning trade and how to work with the current and against it. He eventually started to switch from staying on the boat when he was in Iteos and instead, heading into town and exploring some. It was on one such trip that he was discovered through a Search Dragon. Though at the time he had been more interested in the dolphineers, he had been ecstatic to be flown to Trine to stand for a hatching.
When he impressed a young brown at the age of 14, he eagerly sent word home of his success and looked forward to his new life in the weyr. It was also in the weyr about a year after he impressed that he started to notice that he wasn't just attracted to women, but men as well and would often find himself staring after some of the older weyrlings or wingriders. He was worried about it since his hold held more to the standards of old, where men were supposed to only like women. It was on a very tiresome evening, he was agonizing over it and his wonderful brown, as laidback as can be just put his head in his lap and told him to just knock it off. With such a command he couldn't help but laugh off his worries from it. His brown gave him confidence to finally accept that he happened to be bisexual.
He was a Wingrider when the events of the Metaplot happened. The world seemed to turn upside down. He had no problem with Atypical dragons and he admired the ones who could raise them and keep them healthy. He mourned with the rest of the world at the weyrwoman's assassination and he was deeply shocked at the warring dragons being hurt by the thread and killed. His brown had cried that day. When the revolution started, he defended Trine with the rest of the dragons, only scoring some minor injuries to his dragon from the whers.
In the aftermath, he had helped to rebuild as much as possible, though the storm that befell Trine didn't help matters.
And now hearing that there is a new hold, he still feels the little stirrings of excitement and wanted to explore.
Description: He went through a very lanky phase as a teenager but in the end his body decided to finish growing at the average height of 5'10. He has strong shoulders, mostly from having to hold himself into the saddle. His skin isn't naturally tan, but has developed the dark tan from living in the southern continent all his life and only some scars show from dealings with brawls and a few angry dragon claws at the hatching.
His eyes are a stormy blue grey and even at 31, he's starting to get wrinkles and laugh lines around his mouth and eyes. His hair is cut and kept a short dark brown with lighter streaks from the sun bleaching the locks.
Personality: Circa is social. He grew up with many relatives around him so he's used to just connecting with people no matter who they are. And it helped that his father was in trade so he learned how to speak to higher ups and such with politeness and a sense of respect. His introduction into his adolescence gave him a sense of humor that most would probably find corny. When he was a child, his cousins and him would get into some trouble exploring and pretending they were dragonriders fighting thread together in wings.... which in reality was more of them using sticks to pretend they were riding and throwing dirt like it was flame to battle 'thread' which would be whatever was around at the time, mostly the girls.
As he grew up and joined his dad on the river, he gained more of a feeling of adventure and wanting to explore the green jungles that they passed on the way into and out of Iteos hold. When he felt himself old enough, not necessarily when everyone else thought he was, he would sneak off the boat and roam about town while his father conducted his trade. It was actually while on these little excursions that he was found by the searchrider.
When he arrived at Trine, he immediately got into trouble trying to explore and find the ins and outs of his new home. When he stood and was chosen by Groth, he toned down that behavior a lot to take care of Groth. The sense of responsibility finally grounded him enough to grow up.
Throughout the years, he dealt with some conflict about his sexuality and of course the pain of the revolution. He has dealt with it mostly on his own since he isn't as close to the other dragonriders as he was to his cousins. But with Groth there and his simple attitude towards things, Circa has had his support and comfort.
Over the years whenever a female has risen, Groth has tried to chase them and so Circa had ended up at first, locking himself away and that lasted most of his awkward teen years but only recently in the last 10 years has he started to join into the festivities. He has never really formed a bond towards anyone, whether they were male or female and it does bother him some at his age not to have found someone to spend those times with.
With the revolution, when the stirrings of it started, he felt no ill will towards the wher-handlers and believed that all the colors were equal and was proud to be apart of the Weyr that let them hatch. But he was annoyed with how politics was twisting the situation. The deaths and the fights slowly built up a rage in him and it was expressed in how hard he fought for Trine's survivor against the revolutionists.
In the aftermath's he has tried to be more serious than he already had become, less of his normal sense of humor was shown and he felt very much changed, less joyful or happy about being where he was.
Once tales of a new gold and her arising Weyr reached Trine, he felt that tiny old spark again, the one that first led him to the place he was now.

Personality: Groth is much like his color is described, laid back and relaxed. He is easy going about anything and when a conflict is bothering his rider, he will more often than not tell him just to worry about it, or that it will work out. He does posess a sense of humor like Circa and the young man believes it was because of this that Groth chose him. While Groth knew it was for more. The dragon keeps his rider calm and relaxed about things he needs to relax about while his rider pushes the dragon to do things he needs to do. While he does chase females, he doesn't care much if he wins or loses. He just chases them because of the instinct. If he mates then it's fine, if not then he'll wait.

- So, coming to Euclid is quite the gamble. What drew you here? A very old sense of adventure, maybe hoping to spark something to bring himself back to his old ways
- What do you make of the conflict between the wherholds and (in particular) Trine Weyr? Do you think either group is in the right? While he is partnered to a "traditional" dragon color, he feels that the conflict is too overblown. He isn't a political person, but he does believe in equality for the atypicals. He sides more with the dragonriders as he is one.
- What was your experience like as a candidate/weyrling? As a candidate, he was given some free reign in Trine to look around and explore though he terms "free reign" as whenever he didn't get caught, thankfully that is something that he has grown out of now. When he became a Weyrling, he was trained in the typical way and he was dutiful in taking care of Groth and learning all he could. Dropping some of his troublesome behavior for responsibility. So it was a good experience He was also a very young weyrling so he would understand how the trials of being a young weyrling might affect them.
- What makes you a good candidate to become a candidate/weyrlingmaster? he feels he can connect a little bit more with the weyrlings as he has gone through the training to get to this position and he feels he can provide them with instruction and not be too commanding at the same time.
- What's your teaching style like? Humor involved. He will deliver rules and such with a slight sense of humor. And he has a lot of life experience that may come into play during certain situations.
- How would you discipline your charges when they break the rules? Honestly, depending on their age, and the severity of their disobedience would decide how he would discipline them. His mother used a switch on him in front of his family for humiliation and the sting of his crimes and at the weyr he was given lots of chores if he was disobedient and he would have to recite what he did wrong in front of the rest of the weyrlings. So he would probably use both tactics if needed.
