VROOM VROOM
but srsly, these guys worship the Wind, and with it, it's other incarnation, Breath. let's talk about those that feel that Wind is more their speed (hehehe, bad puns)
to be closer to the Wind, these Sentinels hone their ability to run, and will often engage in a wide variety of races, which range from the most basic that simply gauge one's top speed, to much more complex ones that test participant's stamina, endurance, balance, and ability to pace.
Obviously there are several sub groups of the Wind Runners. A marathon runner would obvs be in a different category from, say. a sentinel that specializes in obstacle courses. if a sentinel achieves mastery over a certain type of running, she/he will be lauded immensely by all of the pack and her/his voice will be carefully listened to. She/he will also be expected to take on apprentices - young or new members of the pack which she/he considers to be suitable for his "craft", so to speak, and this will often be decided by the younglings natural talents and body type.
all of the members of the pack use these individual talents to come together on hunts, where such a wide variety of skills is an incredible asset. those that align with breath scare the prey into running towards the rest of the pack with loud noises and hisses, often using bones or other tools to create as much noise as possible. The "pacers" start running down the prey, tiring them immensely, and then the speediest runners will finish off the chase by catching up to the prey and dealing the killing blow.
All of the prey caught on these pack-wide hunts is shared equally between all members of the pack, and the first share is given to the elders and those too young to hunt. all pack-members are encouraged to go out and hunt themselves on an individual basis, as well, though it is emphasized that they should do so at some distance from the pack ground, so as not to scare off the prey nearby for the rest of the pack. as such, many sentinels form pairs or trios, consisting of a sentinel that follows the way of the breath, one that excels in speed, and one that specializes in endurance, and then divide the caught prey evenly into 3 parts. these trios have a strong bond, and most are reluctant to break or change the already settled trio, as everyone in the group knows the other's strengths and weaknesses - an invitation to hunt together is a very high honor.

WHEEZE WHEEZE
let's talk about breath!!!
though it may sometimes seem that the runners are more important and respected than the singers, this isn't true! the singers, though they don't have to be singers, specifically, are truly masters of their voices. each and every day they train their tongues and vocal cords, and the sounds they make often carry vast distances over the plains. there are many sub-groups of singers - story tellers, those that hum, those that shout the loudest, or the longest, those that can coax the widest variety from their tongues, those that sing the sweetest songs. though their voices are their most important duties, the singers are usually those that take care of the pack ground, as well, as they have no need to hunt. they are also often encouraged to craft and build, and often trade jewelry or small trinkets for small parts of individual hunts that the runners make, if the singers aren't part of such a trio themselves.
crude instruments made of multiple bones tied together to sing in the wind are widely used to decorate shelters and the sentinels themselves, though most runners only wear theirs when on the pack ground, as the clanking might be distracting while running.
UH singers also need to at least master the basics of running and have some endurance if they want to go out in the trios.

i need to put up pack rankings here BASICALLY there's the leader on top, one of the singers, and he has a partner IN CRIME - the fastest runner. they are called by the titles of the Singer and the Chaser, respectively. these two are widely respected, as they are considered to be masters of their craft, and their word is law. they make sure that the pack is running smoothly, disagreements are settled, food is found, water is drunk, the territory patrolled, e.t.c, e.t.c. The Singer at the moment is the founder of the pack - Dream Singer. Though his appearance is rather... plain, his songs amaze with their beauty and wide variety, and he is incredibly diligent about honing his amazing voice. While a gentle, kind, and thoughtful leader, this does not make him weak - he can make life-and-death decisions on the spot and enforce his authority if need be. below them are the other runners and singers that have achieved mastery over their respective skills - both runners and singers are equal in the pack. the Singer and Chaser value their opinions, and will rarely make any important decisions before listening to them, first. They are also expected to take on apprentices at this point. then come most of the pack - the runners and signers, each attempting to master their own skill. again, complete equality over here. aaand the lowest rung, so to speak, is made up of young and very new sentinels. I need to think of REALLY COOL titles for all of the ranks, but that comes later

the pack territory and any pack RPs will be included here
there's also a description of the pack ground.
the pack ground is really just a patch of ground that seemed to be a good place to settle for some reasons. it's full of temporary shelters that can easily be moved from place to place, though i'm not sure if this is possible because a) sentient lizards and b) where to find the material??? i'll come back to this.
worst case scenarios the pack just sleeps in one clearing on the ground. The pack sings haunting songs well into the night, listening to the wind and looking at the stars.

REQRUITMENT want to join me???? just write up a simple form, no need for a huge buttload of stuff. i need a backbone of members, so there's no need for initiation rites or anything at the moment, though that might happen at some point in time. Oh, I'm also searching for the Chaser to lead the pack with my Singer. If you're interested, just put a note in your form, and tell me why you think your sentinel would be a good fit. Though this pack it probably not going to be HUUUGELY RP intensive, for the Chaser I'd like it if you were interested in RP and committed to the plots that might happen. You'll also probably be in charge of punting me along /weeps

Username: Sentinel name with link to cert: Name here Position/Rank you're interested in: A runner, or a singer? If you want to apply for Chaser, you should put in some kind of note here. Why? Why does your sentinel want to be in the Wind-Chasers? Don't stress out, I don't need a resume, just one or two sentences will do. If you're applying for the Chaser position, you might want to go into more detail! Suggestions, notes, points of interest? Put anything you think would be a cool idea to add to the pack here! Do you have some ideas for the names for the ranks? A cool tradition or pastime? An interesting contest in mind? An initiation right? Put anything that comes to mind, here!
