Hidden in plain sight.
The Premise
Trapped in a parallel universe, traveling with The Doctor, a lone Star Lady the last of her species believes everything to be as it was. However, with mysterious dreams, flashbacks to adventures she never had, the Doctor's companion begins to question everything. However, when the Tesseract is used to open another portal into space, it rips a whole in Time and Space pulling the TARDIS along with the Doctor and his companion into the Marvel-movie verse. Inadvertently, The rip into the Doctor's universe also dragged another Time Lord into the Marvel verse where anything could happen.
This is just an idea for one of the Marvel crossovers and is an olive branch to the Marvel guild.

{ Rules } 1. All posts must comply with Gaia's ToS; ie. PG-13 and below, please. 2. Be respectful. No one likes a jerk. 3. TWO character maximum per person. One major character limit (Doctor/Master/Rani) per person. 4. Keep races and species within the scope of the Whoniverse and Marvel Movieverse. Special approval may be granted, if submitted with an extensive background and outline. 5. If you are writing in a different time/place than the post above you, please note it at the beginning of your post. Use a specific date, or an event, if it is located in one place. Example: --- {1781, London, Earth} --- {during supernova, Eph XII system}--- {outside of time, Vortex}This is just to help keep track, both for us and for any new people coming in! Otherwise it will get very confusing, very fast. 6. Same as #5, if it is a non- Omega dimension post. (Such as the Intro/Farewell posts.) Any non- Omega dimension posts must always be labeled with an additional note of WHICH dimension they're in. Examples: --- {1781, London, Earth}{Alpha} --- {during supernova, Eph XII system}{CORE dimension} For this rp, the CORE Dimension is the Marvel Movieverse--- {outside of time, Vortex}{Epsilon dimension} Again, this helps us avoid confusion. 7. UniversalDestiny is the big boss lady. Send your applications and questions and other stuff to me. JauntryGhost is the cohort willing to answer any other questions if UniversalDestiny is not online. 8. Turn off your signature if it's large and save it for the rest of the guild. Seriously. We know you like your car, boyfriend, or whatever. But please spare us having to scroll past a bunch of crap to get to the next post. Rules are flexible. Use common sense and you should be fine.

{ Posting } This is a Literate thread, please be sure that you will be able to contribute several well-thought paragraphs into each post. If your posts require less than 5 minutes to compose, then you will probably be better off finding a different thread to roleplay in. (Exceptions will be allowed for those rare "quick/one-liner response" moments. Keyword being RARE.) Spelling - please check it. While even the best of us get fumble-fingered (esp. in the wee hours of the morn'), make use of your computer's spell-checker programs. Copy & paste into your Word program, if all else fails. Additionally, Firefox users can use their browser's plug-ins to check for spelling errors as well. Introduction Posts:No, these are not posts to say "Hi, I'm blah and I'm playing blah blah". Think of these posts like a Prelude in a book - they are a glimpse of where your character is before they come into the game. Generally, these can be done in one or two posts to give your character a good build-up before hopping into the game proper. Farewell Posts:If your character decides to leave for another dimension or leaves for any other reason, then this is your goodbye post. Using the book simile again, this would be like the Epilogue for your character - what happens when they walk away. Generally, these should not be more than one post. Please DO: --Be descriptive! --Give your fellow players something to work with! --Utilize Wikipedia and/or Doctor Who Wiki if you're unsure! --Ask for clarification in PMs, if you have no clue about something in a post. We all make mistakes; this keeps them from snowballing and clogging up the boards. Please DON'T: --Use ** or :: to describe actions. --God-mode or tell another player what their character is doing. --Post excessively in ((OOC)). If there's that much to discuss out-of-character, then do it in PMs.

{ Species List } (More will be added as they are needed) Name: Star Lords Status: original species Home: Unknown believed to be in the Mythos Fyre Galaxy Categorized: Humanoid Physical Attributes: Height: 5'2-6'6. Appearance: Humanoid Organs: Similar to modern humans. Intelligence: Above Average Eye Color: Varied, but the average color was blue-green Mental Attributes: Telepathy, Telekinesis Societal Attributes: Technologically Advanced, Highly Intelligent, Peaceful Life Cycle: The onset of abilities occurred in childhood (levitation and flight). Longevity varied among Star Lordsi; most lived 5-10 life cycles, but could die permanently if they chose to. The majority did so as to allow other species to flourish and new Star Lords to be born. Current Political State: extinct** History: The Star Lords: The Star Lords were an ancient intelligent species that existed during the time of the Time Lords. The Star Lords possessed great intelligence and vast powers that allowed them to them to flourish as a civilization. The Star Lords possessed telepathy, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, flight, and other abilities. They could produce natural fire without a thought and possessed healing abilities. When it is time for them to die, they would burst into their firebird form before rising up from the ashes in a more youthful form depending on their time of death. The Star Lords could also heal other species and often could use their firebird form to travel the galaxy without the use of a ship. The Star Lords were very peaceful in their nature, choosing to share their intelligence and gifts with other species throughout the galaxy. They also continued to explore their abilities which were even said to be limitless although never proven. The Star Lords and Time Lords: It is said that the Star Lords because of their re-birthing process activated the key sequences in the Time Lords DNA and taught them how to regenerate. However, unlike the Star Lords who could revert to a previous form, the Time Lords regenerated into a new form. Unlike other species, the Star Lordscould not read the minds of Time Lords but rather the process reversed itself to where Time Lords could read the minds of the Star Lords. For a short while, the Star Lords can also transfer their abilities to a Time Lord in extreme cases for their use. However, if the Star Lords remain embodied in a Time Lord both the Star Lord and the Time Lord will burn and die with no chance of regeneration or rebirth due to the vast amount of energy used by both species. Destruction: The Star Lords although highly advanced and intelligent could not stop the spread of a mysterious artificial virus that was implanted in their species by an unknown source. The cause of this virus was never fully explained but once in the blood stream, Star Lord would only have a week in Earth time to live since the virus attacks and breaks down Star Lord DNA blocking the re-birthing cycle and killing the Star Lord. Realizing that the extinction of the species was imminent Star Lord scientists retrieved two samples of Star Lord DNA both male and female from two separate Star Lord families and carefully implanted the DNA in a species that would evolve to allow the Star Lord DNA to live on protected from the Virus. As two Star Lord scientists made their perilous travel to Earth, even as they died from the effects of the virus, a Time Lord named The Knight who was against the Time War completed their mission and delivered the two Star Lord embryos to a clinic on Earth. One embryo would be implanted in human parents, disguised as human embryo and develop into the Doctor's companion. The other...went missing. **Extinct is the generally-accepted status, as Krista Emerald is the last (or possibly first?) of her kind. * * * * * * * * * *

{Outside of Time, Vortex: Alpha Universe}
As the TARDIS traveled through The Vortex, the young Star Lady stirred beneath the covers of her bed. For the past few nights, she had troubling dreams about the Britannic Adventure and tonight was no exception. True, she had the Doctor had been on the H.M.H.S. Britannic the day she hit her mine and sank in the Aegean Sea off the island of Kea in 1916. The Doctor had simply walked into the water right after the bridge dipped under and the ship keeled over, sinking beneath the waves. At the time, he thought he had died but he was clever enough to swim away with Captain Bartlett and make it to safety just in time.
However, in the dreams Krista saw The Britannic Adventure another way with the coal bunkers, echoes of the Cybermen, the Cyber Leader revealing he was once her own Uncle Max, her father's brother, and one of the closest confidants about her abilities. However, she was not with The Doctor but rather with a man who wore Victorian style clothing,, with light curly brown hair and blue eyes that also claimed he was The Doctor. In the dream, the Britannic was sunk by the mine but it was done deliberately to seal the Cybermen away. There were other dreams too that didn't make sense with the mysterious man and she twisted and turned beneath her covers. Then there came the one with the sun, it came closer and closer till she felt herself explode. It was at that moment, she sat straight up, breathing heavy and in a cold sweat. However, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a small flame burning near her right hand as she swore beneath her breath and quickly put it out. The TARDIS would eventually repair the burned sheets but she sat for a moment breathing heavy. The dreams were becoming more real and frightening as she knew she had to ask The Doctor about them when she got the chance. Reaching over she picked up her cell phone off the night stand and saw the time 6:00 in the morning at least in Manchester with her parents. No doubt, her parents would be working on the first muffins, cinnamon rolls for the day as she pulled back the covers and started towards the bathroom to take a quick shower before going to join The Doctor in the console room.
Meanwhile in the console room, a figure lay stretched out underneath the console repairing system controls to the central column. A black leather jacket lay strewn over the Captain's Chair as the engines hummed. Muttering underneath his breath, The Doctor held his sonic screwdriver in his hand as he adjusted the cross wiring to the desktop circuits. For the past few days, the console room had been trying to convert to a previous version but like his ship, he was just as stubborn as putting it right as the coral desktop stabilized and the console column glowed adjusting to the new settings. "Fantastic, and it only took five tries in six hours." His northern accent came thick and heavy as he pulled himself from under the console and stood up brushing off his red v-neck jumper and hitting a lever. As he took a moment to walk over to the Captain's Chair and pulled his leather jacket on as he placed his screwdriver in an inner pocket.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Krista, silently standing near the entrance to the main corridor still dressed in a tank top and human pajama bottoms.. Her red hair, had been tied back into a pony tail and she looked as if she had woken up again from a nightmare, something he would have to work on with her in their sessions. "Bad night?" He asked flipping a switch on the console. "You could say that." Krista responded. "I keep having this...well I'm not sure what to call it." "The Britannic." He interrupted her. "Still goin' on about that? Told you, Bartlett and I stepped off into the water, went for a little swim...you pulled us into the lifeboat. Waited for the navy ship to come pick us up. Don't you remember?" "Yeah. It's just that I keep seeing it two different ways, like I've experienced twice. Once with you and once with another man." Krista watched as The Doctor worked the console, something he frequently did before he stopped and looked over at her. "It's your mind tryin' to put somethin' together...remember how you went on and on about New Atlantis for a week or two?" He said, although he knew the truth, he just wouldn't disclose it. "You're right." She said as she looked at him before approaching the console. "So where are we and what was wrong with the desktop theme?" "The Vortex and just a hiccup. She's been actin' a bit strange lately but nothin' a little fix couldn't take care of." The Doctor replied. He then looked at Krista and then smirked. "Are you goin' to stand all day in your pajamas? I was thinkin' of takin' us to Fijii maybe sometime in the 1800's, a bit of relaxation might do you some good. Not as many tourists, water for you to drop in." "Yeah. Fiji's Good. I like the sound of Fiji." Krista stopped for a moment. "Don't know why I said that...I've never been but it seems so familiar." She then shook it off as she looked at The Doctor and then started back towards her Cabin to change.
******* An hour later, Krista found herself transcending the Spiral Staircase that led back up to the console room. She smirked as she heard the Doctor spout off insults on how much cleverer he was than other species as he probably nicked himself shaving again. Typical. Though she was pretty sure he did it in his other incarnation as well. She had changed out of her pajamas and into a short sleeved purple shirt and matching scarf, with blue jeans and black boots. Her hair, she had brushed out and held it in place with a black headband as she knew the Doctor probably changed his jumper and pants but not the leather coat. She missed the other incarnation, his tenth but she liked this one just as much and knew he could help her control some of her abilities, it just took time. Just as she was about to make it to the console room doors, the TARDIS started to pitch wildly as she held onto the railing tightly. Pulling herself up, the doors slid open as she grabbed onto the console room’s railing and hauled herself up to the side of The Doctor. “What happened?” She asked as she saw him frantically pulling levers and pushing buttons on the console. “The Vortex, the whole of Space and Time just collapsed!!” “Collapsed!!?” Krista asked. “You said that couldn’t happen!!” Krista said as she made her way to his side at the scanner. “Couldn’t. Shouldn’t. It’s all gone!” The Doctor said as he frantically ran around the console pulling on a few levers and hitting a few buttons. Another shower of sparks hit him coming from wires that had detached themselves from the console overhead. “Hang on.” The Doctor shouted as he looked over at his companion as the TARDIS pitched wildly again nearly throwing the pair off of the console. The Doctor reached for a button and looked at the Emergency Brake as another wire detached. He had just spent days getting the TARDIS back together and now she was coming apart unless he put a stop to it. Though if he pulled the Emergency Stop he and Krista could land any when or where but it was better than their other option. “Brace Yourself!” He pulled the Stop as the TARDIS ceased moving but the momentum knocked both him and Krista to the metal grate as he heard her moan, and the lights in the console room went out. The TARDIS had stopped and the pair were alive but where and when they were remained a different story. The Doctor pulled himself to his feet as he called through the darkness. “Krista?” “I’m alright.” Spotting her just a few feet away he offered his hand and pulled her to her feet as he went over to the scanner. The readings were blank as he hit with the back of his hand, the scanner switched on to a lower setting but they confirmed his suspicions. The TARDIS had been pulled by a rip in the universe into another, perhaps back into Kris-no he stopped himself. She was his responsibility, she was in his care and he had made a promise to watch out for her. “What happened?” Krista asked as the emergency lights flickered on. That was a relief to The Doctor as he looked at the scanner. “We landed, but it’s the wrong universe.” The Doctor said. “The rip pulled us from our own into a parallel one. “Landed where?” Krista said as she looked towards the doors to see what she thought was Sunshine streaming through the tiles at the top though the TARDIS had been known to let light in or simulated light. She started towards the doors curious as The Doctor called after her. “Oi, where do you think you’re goin?” The Doctor asked. “Just for a peek. I mean it can be anywhere right? Maybe it’s Earth…” She said as she opened the doors and stuck her head outside. Taking in the fresh air and the sights as she saw a familiar sight and grinned. “Stupid Ape.” The Doctor mumbled as he too made his way down from the console as he saw what his companion saw. The hustle and bustle of Times Square in it’s prime, around Krista’s time frame. Most of the people, didn’t mind the Police Box in the middle of the square but he could see Krista’s eagerness as she stepped out and took in the sights twirling to look at all the buildings. Meanwhile, The Doctor was cautious as he looked back towards the console. “Call me Stupid…but this is home.” Krista said taking in the sights. “No matter where we are or when whatever universe. Earth is Earth.” The Star Lady said as she walked over and picked up a paper, it was late May 2014, which would explain the lack of coats. Krista didn’t’ even have to look to see if The Doctor was behind her as he took the paper from her and did a quick read of the headlines. Some story about a man called STARK and the plans to rebuild parts of New York after some type of Alien Attack two years prior. “Oi, looks like this Earth has already had company. C’mon back for some repairs.” The Doctor said, there was something about this Earth that troubled him and knowing what was at stake with those in pursuit of Krista’s talents, he didn’t know these humans not as well as the ones he knew back home. Furthermore, it seemed all too easy as he took Krista by the hand and led her back towards the TARDIS doors. The last thing he needed, were the Bounty Hunters that were after them to follow through the crack that they came through to drag them back to their universe. He wanted to repair the TARDIS and be off on their merry way back through Time and Space. “Couldn’t we have a look?” Krista asked. “It’s Candy Land out there, different universe, different humans..do you want to go back or be stranded here?” The Doctor asked. “I do want to go back, but it just seems so long since we’ve been out and about since you re-did the TARDIS.” Krista begged. “Five minutes?” “Two Minutes.” The Doctor said as he opened the door and stepped back in. “Done.” The Star Lady said, and grinned. Standing outside the TARDIS doors and taking in all the sights and sounds of New York.

{Core Universe, Times Square, May 2014} Krista heard the TARDIS doors close behind her as she took in the sights and sounds of New York. It was wonderful to be outside and not cramped into the TARDIS though the TARDIS went on infinitely, but still nothing beat the sights and sounds of Earth, even if it was in the largest city on Earth and in a parallel universe. Maybe, this was John and Rose’s universe, or the Metacrisis Clone that the Doctor reminded her that John was, or maybe another universe all together. Still, home was home as she smiled and took a few steps away from the TARDIS to enjoy the sounds.
She could see that people were using their smartphones to take in the sights and sounds and oddly enough no one noticed the Blue Box right in the middle of the square. She knew The Doctor would make it a point to get them out of there and as fast as he could when the TARDIS was up to snuff. Spotting a nearby café’ she smiled and strode towards it, reminded of the shop that her parents maintained back in Manchester and she would make it a point when they got back to their universe, that she would want to visit her mom and dad. Strangely enough, for a moment she thought she had set of eyes on her but dismissed it just as quickly as she entered the shop and followed the patrons up to the counter.
They were using regular US currency, which she had 20 in her pocket and bought herself a tea as well as one for The Doctor. Looking around the shop, she spotted a flat screen TV as she paid for the teas and walked over looking at the latest unveiling of a new technology gadget. “Well I’ll be.” She muttered and grinned. In her universe, Tony Stark was a character in the comic book universe but here he was just as real as could be as the news flashed images of what would be fiction in her home universe. The Avengers were just as part of this reality as she smiled and shook her head they were real and not figments of imagination in this universe. She even blushed a little when they showed pictures of Captain America and Thor during what the reporter on the screen referred to as the “Battle of New York” a few years ago. On the TV, they were referring to Stark Tower and how he had invented a device to increase power efficiency to buildings without harming the environment.
“Good on you.” She said as she started towards the door. Little did she know, she was being watched as a figure followed her out into the streets. “Target in sight.” The man whispered into his ear piece. “Stay close behind, if it’s the one that he’s claiming she is then our team will move in before she gets to the box. If she’s as powerful as these readings are indicating, she may pick up on you.” A voice on the other end responded. Krista moved back towards the TARDIS it was more like ten minutes but she knew The Doctor would be muttering and cursing in ancient Gallifreyian about her tardiness and her more than two minute deal. Oh well, it was something she was still adjusting to in this incarnation as she made her way through the crowds. Despite being in a new universe, her abilities were present as she could pick up the minds of those around her. However, using techniques that The Doctor had shown her, she tuned out the noise of the crowds and the minds of those around her yet, she sensed nearby uneasiness as she turned. For a moment, she thought she was being followed as she turned around but saw no one there other than the usual New York crowds.
Shaking her head, she turned around again only to find herself face to face with a masked man but before she could react, she felt something blow into her face and her world went back.
“Got her.” As the woman’s body fell into his arms the getaway van pulled up and the side door slid open. He could hear the doors of the police box open but it was too late as he shoved the unconscious woman in and climbed in the van himself before slamming the door. Their mission accomplished as they sped through the streets of New York headed for the Lincoln Tunnel and out to the secured warehouse location. ****** Minutes Before As The Doctor walked back up to the console he put a hand on the control panel only to pull it back. She was still hot from their landing and their crash into this universe and no doubt she would need time to heal. He shook his head, this was not the ideal situation he wanted to find himself in. Maybe a trip to Renaissance Italy to paint with Da Vinci or Vincent Van Gogh during the 19th Century would’ve been better and relaxing. Not stuck in a parallel universe where anything could happen although exciting as it was, he knew there was a slight chance that they would be followed by the Bounty Hunters into this universe.
They wanted Krista, they wanted her abilities, they wanted her to pay for her sins, or so they had told him. They wanted her absolute power, power that she had yet to master and control; which was very dangerous if not mastered right. Barcelona proved that point as he had seen her plunge into the heart of a star, healed the star, resurrected herself and flew back to the planet without any type of ship. It was the sheer power of being a Star Lord, a power that if those who wanted it would covet for themselves and use it to destroy and conquer innocents.
He knew the burden that she carried all too well, he had sensed her pain though he wasn’t there, he knew every memory as if they were his own but they weren’t. Though he didn’t tell the Star Lady, he knew everything right from when she was pulled into his universe, the telekinetic storm of revenge on the Citadel, till the ----no. He wouldn’t allow himself the weakness, she was his responsibility now, she was his redemption in the eyes of an old friend. Himself.
Though the console was offline he could keep tabs on Krista as he pulled out his mobile phone and switched it on. Two minutes. Oh the Star Lady could get herself into loads of trouble by then, though he allowed her some comforts of Earth, the phone showed that she was in a local shop, a bake shop from what it looked like as he put away the mobile and moved towards the doors. There was nothing that he could do for the TARDIS at this point until she cooled down and that could be a few hours. They were stuck in the middle of the busiest city, in the middle of a parallel universe.
So it was Shore Leave until then as The Doctor decided he would join Krista as he walked down the gangway but before doing so, he pulled out his sonic screwdriver and turned around aiming it at the console. The console went dark but he knew the regeneration circuits were still on as he saw the corals begin to glow a slight red, meaning the TARDIS was rebuilding herself as he turned pocketing the Sonic Screwdriver and opened the doors.
He then stepped out and locked the doors behind him as he saw the crowds going to and from as if it were his home universe. Just as he finished locking the doors he heard the screeching of tires nearby as he turned only to see a familiar redhead being shoved into a black van.
“Typical.” His hearts stopped but he started to run towards the van. Whoever it was, that had taken Krista knew something about her, even though they had only been in this universe a short time as he sprinted only to see the van peel off. He stopped, as he tried to whistle for a cab to pursuit as the cabs drove by full of passengers but none stopped. Quickly, he pulled out his screwdriver and started to give chase, he knew he had to find his companion, even if it meant searching the city brick by brick.
