FROM ICY’S SEEING DOUBLE CONTEST ENTRY
Usernames: Milady Emerald and SilverShieldWolf
Names: Blue Girly- Melina (name is from the greek word “miel” meaning Honey)
Pink Girly- Tamera (name based on the Sanskrit word for Spice)

Personality: Melina: Sweet and loving, kind and caring, compassionate and empathetic. If you need help she’s the girl you go to!
Tamera: Tough, sassy and enjoys the easy way. She will be there for you, but there is always a bit of attitude going on.

Relationship:Tamera and Melina are as close as two beings can be.....and yet at the same time as separate as two beings can be. You see, they are two halves of a whole, quite literally. They were created when a spell went awry by the witch Tasmin. She was attempting to remove her negative aspects.. Unfortunately (or fortuitously as the case may be) she succeeded in splitting herself into two- the good girl and the bad girl, sugar and spice, The nice and the vice...... *Cue flashback*

The darkened room was lit only by the flickering candlelight. The purple witch Tasmin stood in the center of the ritual circle marked out on the floor. She had a brasier burning in the center beside her. The smells of incense fill the air, the sweet spicy tang of Dragon's Blood for duality, Sage for cleansing and purification, with an undercurrent of Rose and a hint of cinnamon.

Sitting before the braiser she inhaled the mixture of scents letting it bathe her inside and out. Reaching her inner calm she stood and began to walk the circle, sealing it with her athame as she did so.

Once more stepped to the center of the circle, and looked at the paper sitting next the burning coal filled bowl. Writ on the paper was the spell she meant to cast:

“Sugar and Spice
and everything nice
I pay the price
Take my sacrifice

I Roll the dice,
and spin around thrice
Create the slice
I plead, take my vice

I'll be concise,
I've heard the advice
spirits entice
make my spell suffice”

She began recite the spell, word for word. As she came to the end of the first verse she offered her “sacrifice”, making a small cut on her hand with her dagger and letting it drip into the burning incense. Gaining her confidence she glanced once more at the sheet and then did the second verse from memory. She threw her stones, using her cut hand, rose quartz and turquoise tumbled to the ground spinning before she turned in a circle three times. Without looking at her spell she said the last two lines of verse two- only she made a mistake. Instead of saying Create the slice, she used the word “Splice” and plead for them to “”make” rather than “take” her vice.

Feeling the spell take hold she continued with the last verse. As the power ran through her she began to have the first inkling that something was wrong as she felt a wrenching sensation. The feelings grew and grew the pain becoming so sharp that she cried out and fainted. The smoke from the brasier burned above her, she managed to miss it as she fell. And the stones on the ground next to her head flared into brightness. What happened next no one saw….

...Then
Melina *her eyes fluttered open slowly as she came to awareness*
Tamera *grumbling, her body turned as she felt the ground beneath* What the heck happened?
Melina *At the sound of a roughed voice her eyes flew open and she found herself looking someone else in the eye- someone with lovely colorless eyes and pink hair. Scrambling she sat up to look around, and found herself in the center of her spell circle, looking at…..well someone that looked a lot like her* A….are you ok? *she asked tentatively*
Tamera *groaned. She was not wanting a double and that is exactly what was in front of her, minus the colors. Shaking her head* I am fine, just confused. What are you...
Melina * thinking quickly she realized that something must have gone awry with her spell. Then listening to the strange doppelganger she was taken aback to be asked “What” she was not who she was.* I...well…..I am Me. A….and so are you I think…..*she trailed off*
Tamera *rolled her eyes* How can I be you? *looking around the circle, she thought of the spell. She was positive nobody had been in the area and especially the circle, so where* No...No...NO! We messed up the spell? How? *she stood and started pacing the area*
*There were things going through her head as she watched her double, flinching slightly as she yelled* Oh, oh oh oh! I didn’t look at the paper for the second verse, and and…...but it rhymed…..I must’ve…...oh no. This can’t be happening. *she hung her head*
*That is right. It is your fault. I did nothing but try to tell you to relook at the paper. But you didn’t listen…*keeps ranting about it while opening the circle to leave. If she stayed she was bound to be put back into the one body again*
*Hearing the other speak she began to work out what happened* Somehow we split…..into two. And….wait how was it my fault? *she watched curiously as the other opened the circle, no one could do that…..but…..her…..so they must be two halves of one whole…..and….* VICE! SHe cried out. Thats who you are! HEY! Where are you going?!?
*glancing back as the other called out her ‘name’* Sugar and spice and everything...Nice. Hmmm I guess that is you. Later, Nice! *she took off heading back to home, to prep for the night*
*with a sigh she watched what was apparently her worse half head off as she longed to go home, so doubtless thats where Vice was headed. She began to clean up the spell, she noticed that the two stones were gone. As she moved around blue hair swung into her eyes...blue and not purple….and things clicked. They split and became the stones! It made perfect sense Blue and Pink make Purple. So she wasn’t Tasmin any more….
What should my…*she thought hard, My name is Tamera. Not Vice, NICE!*
*Melina jumped, hard, and dropped everything she’d been holding. She’d suddenly heard her doubles voice in her head! Saying she was…..Tamera….Her eyes widened and she said in her mind. “Fair enough, I am Melina then”.

*End Flashback*
