{Fnbar to Tanis, Kaila, Ashly}
Aftter getting food, F'nbar wandered aroun a bit until he spotted several riders talking to one of his clutchmatesr. Specifically, two other riders talking to one of his clutchmates. In other words, three; an odd number. This was his chance. He strode over and listened for a short while to make sure he wasn't interupting any deep conversation. It seemed not. Now that he was closer he recognised one of the girls from the clutch after his. "Tanis, Ashlyn, and.." he looked at Kaila curiously, hoping she would supply her name. "Anyone want to dance?" he asked, just before Ashlyn mentioned something about firekizards. "Oh, Trel has firekizards?" he asked, clueless.

{Navi to Ryn, Anri, and Elsi}
"Rin!" As soon as the young Weyrleader called to him, Navi let go of Anri's hand and ran over to him. Ducking under his arm, Navi hugged Ryn's side when he bent over. Ryn gave him the toy and his eyes went twice as large. "Wow!" A small finger traced the carved outline of the dragons eye. It was wooden, not painted like the ones his father made. It was pretty. "Is it.. a brown?" he asked, still in awe. Then he looked up at Ryn and beamed "Thank you Rin!"
Tiry! That reminded him. He put a hand into his pouch (the one his mother had bought him to keep him from leaving his toys around everywhere) and pulled out the canine plushy. "For Tiry's nameday." he said. "Now she can have one just like Brother." Brother was Navi's name for the black and white canine Tnus brought back from a mission. And somehow, it had stuck. The pkush also reminded him of something else. He went back to Anri and took her hand. "Oh, yeah. These girls are nice, you should give the a good price. But not as good as mine, okay." he added, putting one hand up as if that would keep them from hearing.
Before Navi could even ask, though, Ryn was telling him that he'd have to get permision from his father. While he should have been happy (Tnus was almost certain to agree), the young boy pouted and squirmed, twisting the front of his shirt between his hands. "Oh, but Rin.. I can't-" he looked around suddenly as though he were afraid someone was watching him, then beckoned for Ryn to bend down. He whispered in his ear, although not particularly quietly (anyone around might be able to hear) "I cant ask dad, Ryn, it's a present."
Anyone who'd been listening to the weyrsecond recently might be susoicious of Navi's claim. By all accounts, he had been acting out recently, running away from his parents, getting lost in the Weyr tunnels, or refusing to come home at night. But there was a secret Tnus had yet to tell anyone that was the cause of Navi's strange behaviour. He had an odd way of showing it sometimes, but Navi was still a good kid. He was just a little too perceptive for his own good, and a little too worrysome.

{Plias and Helioth to Hisith}
Heioth landed in the Bowl, but Plias was in no hurry to get off. Butterflies beat against his chest. He tried to find an excuse that would satisfy his persistent dragon.
Helioth told him, dipping his shoulder to spill his lathargic rider into the dirt. P'lias rubbed his arm and glared, but didn't say argue further. Mood swinging to sympathetic, Helioth bent his neck back and touched his muzzle to his rider's cheek. Helioth fretted.
When Hisith got back to him, Helioth relayed her message to Plias. he told her in response to her question. He turnedto his rider. he asked, "No, I'll look for her.." Plias finally conceded. And even though he wouldnt mind bumping into Iona normally, he was sort of hoping that would take the whole gather. Unfortunately, his perceptive blue was having none of it. he said pointedly, taking off to survey the gather from above. he told him, flahing an image.
To Hisith, he said Yes, it would be good. That he knew for sure. Helioth had a way of knowing these things.
((Will finish in my next post, wanted to give her a chance to respond to Trel first))

Lute, Iona, Hisith, T’anis, and Kosth –
Shaking her head emphatically at her weyrmate, she chuckled. “T’rel, I swear, swear that I am perfectly healthy. I am comfortable. I am not going to be drinking, smoking, or anything remotely risky or dangerous. You know how rarely I get sick. I’m not going to be getting into brawls or any such nonsense. I love you to bits, but you’re going to worry yourself sick if you work yourself up into a tizzy this early on.” T’rel attention having shifted to the arrival of his sister was a welcome distraction. Derail him before he could really get going. Covering her lips with her finger tips, Lute let T’rel finish his pie and let her know the news.
~~~ Iona
Iona was practically bobbing on the balls of her feet while waiting for T’rel to finish his pastry. When confirmation was given, the young greenrider gave a delighted squeak before throwing her arms around the two of them. “I’m so happy for you both! Oh, Mom and Dad will be thrilled to hear. I’ll let you two tell them, of course.” Releasing her hold of them, she breathed a great big sigh. “I’m gonna be an aunt! Wow…” Iona breathed, running her hands through her hair. An aunt. Ionan was going to be an uncle! She pondered how he’d react.
~~~ Lute
The woman had given Iona’s cheek a kiss when the younger greenrider beamed and hugged them. Chuckling, she nodded. “You sure are. I bet your little niece or nephew will just love visiting their Aunt Iona.” Lute turned towards Becka’s approach with a curious arch of her brows, letting Iona absorb the news further. She rubbed between T’rel’s shoulder blades and smiled to the other woman. “I’m fine, Becka. Thank you for asking. I found out that I’m expecting a little while ago. It’s exciting and nervous making. This one is our first.”
~~~ T'anis and Kosth
Kosth folded her wings loosely at her back, situating herself on her perch just so, curling her tail around her side. Rumbling softly to herself, she answered those who reached out to her. ‘Hello, Maith. Have you and yours been here at the Gather long?’ She gave herself a shake, to n** a building itch in the bud. ‘And hello to you as well, Gyafrith. You’re looking nice today. How are you and Yours enjoying yourselves?’
T’anis tugged at the bottom of his vest, straightening up to his full height with a bright, easy smile on his face. “I’m g-grand! Thanks f-for ask-king. Happy to have m-made it. You’re b-both l-looking l-lovely today.” He looked down to clear his throat before returning his gaze again. “F-firelizards? Ah, I w-wouldn’t m-mind, if you d-don’t mind me f-following along. I w-was actually t-thinking about getting somet-time soon. M-maybe t-today is m-my day?” Pausing at the news, his brows rose a few degrees and his smile split into a wide grin. “R-really? Hah! T-that’s w-wonderful news ind-deed!”
Moving to follow along to congratulate the Weyrlingmaster and his weyrmate on their news, he paused when F’nbar approached. T’anis offered a wave and a dip of his head in greeting to the fellow rider, rider of a clutch sister of his own Kosth to boot. “D-dancing w-would be f-fun, I th-think. Ah, heh, y-you’re close, F’nbar. R’yn has th-the f-flits. T-T’rel and Lute are exp-pecting a baby. W-we’re going t-to go give our b-best wishes and th-the like. Y-you’re w-welcome to t-tag along. Th-the m-more the m-merrier. F-flit shopping m-maybe later. Ashlyn, K-Kalia, m-mind saving a c-couple of d-dances for th-the likes of us?” He waggled his brows. “I-it’ll be fun.” Placing a hand over his heart and holding his other out to some invisible partner, he rocked his shoulders back and forth in time with a sway of his upper body. The greenrider broke into a short laugh. “I-I’m game i-if you are. Just g-grab me and let’s go f-for a spin.”
Oh yeah! The matter at hand was congratulating the Weyrlingmaster and his weyrmate on becoming parents. Again clearing his throat, a light flush passing across his features, he shook his head with grin. “T-T’rel, Lute, I-I’m over th-the m-moons for you t-two. Having a f-family is a w-wonderful thing. Y-you both w-will m-make great parents.” T’anis nodded deeply for emphasis.
‘Anesidoth, hello.’ Kosth looked towards her clutch sister. ‘Me and Mine are doing well. Yes, thank you. You and Yours as well? I’m basking and keeping an eye on things. So, all in all, not too bad a time, no. Do you and Yours have plans at the Gather here or doing whatever whenever?’
~~~ Lute
Breaking into a smile at spying the approaching young riders, Lute bumped her hip against T’rel’s, leaning in a little to bring them to his attention. “Good news travels fast, it seems. Here come some familiar faces.”
~~~ Iona and Hisith
‘Of course,’ Hisith crooned back softly at the request for patience. She stretched and nosed a low flying firelizard along as it drooped almost to the top of her muzzle. The green was amused by the raucous chattering it gave her as it flapped away. Noticing Helioth take to the air, she watched his surveying. ‘You could have asked where Mine is, Helioth. Could have saved you a little extra work. Of course, Ours are always worth a little extra effort.’
With a dip of her head at his update, she reached out to Hers. ‘Ionamine, Helioth’s is seeking you out. Don’t wander too far. His wants to ask you something, but he is nervous. Let him know that whatever it is, it is alright. Do agree, if you are able. I bet it shall be a good thing.’
Iona paused her enthusing to look up to where Hisith was. P’lias was coming her way? Huh. She pondered what he could want. Well, surely she would find out shortly. The girl nodded. ‘Thank you, Hisith. I’ll keep an eye out for him and try not to let a crowd gather around me so that he can see me.’
Dea and #Teddy# AshlynWhile she waited for her teacher to say something, she turned to F'nbar with a smile, noticing he mixed up two of the things she had said. "T'anis is right, T'rel and Lute are expecting a baby. We just plan to go look at a firelizard clutch that there are eggs for sale. Right now, we are just giving our congratulations to T'rel and Lute. Oh and to answer your question, T'anis..ummm..well...I wouldn't mind dancing with you,"Ashlyn said the last part kind of quietly. Anesidoth, it is good to see you. I am doing fine, Mine and I are just enjoying the gathering. That and I am prodding her to be more social. And thank you Kosth, you are quite lovely yourself,Gyafrith smiled.
"Are they really?" R'yn had very rarely been to the colder parts of Pern, especially in winter. "Huh. I can't see why. They're everywhere here. Our beaches are littered with eggs.Two it is! Here you are," R'yn took the marks from Elsilia and stuck them in his pouch. He gently pushed two hot pots towards tmem. "Take good care of them. Should hatch in a sevenday or so."
When he was supplied with the plush for Tiry, he smiled warmly at Navi. "Thank you, she'll love it." The Weyrleader remembered spending a gather with Ticene, purchasing odds and ends--until they'd come to J'nes' stall. The expression on his wyrmate's face as she'd picked up a plush had been worth all the marks on Pern. R'yn sighed. He make a face. "Oh, a present?" He asked, seeming to be trying to catch him in a lie. He'd heard about the boy's recent misbehavior. "And is it a present for an adult? Because otherwise, I'm still going to need permission to give this to you. Why not go fetch your mother and ask, hm?"
Becka looked between Lute and T'rel, as if they were the only people there, for once she didn't feel bad about forgetting other people existed. She took a deep breath, eyes wide and opened her mouth "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... OH GOODNESS T'REL! LUTE! A BABY?" she squealed, eyeing Lute for signs of how far along she might be, so tempted to put her hand to the woman's belly but refraining, instead flinging herself at T'rel, putting her free arm around him, the pot with the flit egg between them, "CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!" so she was being loud, so what?! Her best friend was going to be a father! She couldn't exactly bearhug Lute, well she could but she didn't know the woman as closely as she knew T'rel.
She pulled away with the goofiest happy grin on her face and she almost jiggled in place. "OH Lute, T'rel i'm so happy for you ... so THAT'S why you've been visiting the Infirmary!" she was so glad Lute wasn't sick. She'd seen Lute there of course but she was sworn to keep such visits to herself. It was part of learning to be a Healer, learning to know how to keep things to yourself when told secrets or something by patients. That and she knew she would have worried T'rel needlessly if she'd told him she'd seen Lute there. "just EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" she couldn't be happier for the weyrmates, she really couldn't... she had a flit, T'rel was going to be a dad, it was looking like she might walk the tables fairly soon .... Life right now was perfect... it couldn't get any better than this, right?!
