Crispian glanced down at the scrap of paper he'd ripped from his sketch book and then back up at the sides of the buildings checking the addresses. He frowned and moved down another couple buildings and then caught the smell of baked goods. Well if nothing else he was close, then the crowd in front of him broke and he saw the store front. There it was!
He grinned and shoved the piece of paper into his bag and eagerly opened the door. "Hello?" he called out looking around the shop. There were cakes, and cookies, and all sorts of tasty treats in the cases and his mouth watered a bit. It all looked so tasty! Not that he really expected less from the lady who made them all.

Oops! The shop exploded with a mist of pink as Alyss tripped right over her feet, crashing into the hard ground. Clumsy as always, it probably didn't help the small woman that her hair almost completely covered her eyes, and probably was the reason why she fell in the first place. An employee scolded her gently despite her being the boss, helping her pick up her mess before watching the young woman bounce back into the kitchen. Fall or not, she didn't believe in giving up! She had things to bake, and people to serve, and a little fall wasn't about to hinder her.
Her good mood had lasted for quite some time, and it honestly attributed to the fact she had made her first friend. Her first real friend. He was charming, artistic, and sweet, and she was in awe at the fact he actually enjoyed her company. After meeting him, only good things had happened. She met Sweets, another baker, and hired her first employee to help around. It was as if the male had become a good luck charm, and honestly? She wanted to see him again! She wanted to share with him the new cupcake recipe she had made, and yet had failed to get his own address. He had hers, but she had no way of contacting him..... how idiotic she had been.
With a busyness to her step, the strange woman fluttered into the bakery, carefully minding her own feet this time as she carried a tray to replace the empty parts of the front counter. Humming as she did so, she had to step on tiptoe, due to being rather short, to reach the brownie stand before finished.
"Wonderful~" She chirped to herself, hands taking her tail into them and rubbing it in thought. Everything was up to date, and now she could focus on new-
Oh.
Excitement flushed in her cheeks as she spotted the very male she had just been thinking about! Flailing her hands slightly, she glanced about, forgetting the exit to the counter briefly. "Oh oh!" Making her way out from the counter, she quickly brushed her hands on her apron before approaching Crispian, ears perked up.
"Hello~ Welcome to Splendorland!"

Crispian's ears perked as he heard someone bustling about the cases that were towards a door that he assumed went to the kitchen. At the moment he was looking through the book of cakes and marveling at some of the decoration schemes. At the sound of the familiar voice though, he turned and smiled at the little pink and white female.
"It certainly is splendid in here!" he said with a nod. "Everything looks so delicious!" he approached and then paused wondering what he should do. He had no idea what the appropriate gesture was to a girl you met a week ago, seemed to really get along with, thought was incredibly cute, but hadn't expressed said sentiment too. He settled for a wider grin and putting a hand behind his head and rubbing his hair. "I wanted to come sooner, but I got caught up with some stuff and couldn't get away. This store's awesome though. You can tell there's a lot of love here." he absently slipped a hand under the cover of his messenger bag and fingered his sketch book. He realized he was doing it and moved his hand back out into the open. There was time for what was in there later.

Swishing her tail gently, Alyss offered a huge smile in return to the others own grin, hands toying with apron nervously. What does one do with their first friend? How does one act? She wasn't quite sure, expressing it with a nervous shuffle of her feet and frequent glance around her own shop to hide her blush. Still, small-talk was something she researched enough, wasn't it? She could manage that much, or better.
"Oh, that's alright. I was also busy, so it probably is a good thing you stopped by now. Any other time and you'd see me a mess." Tapping her hands together, she immediately whirled around and fluttered back behind the counter, bending down to grab a tray. "Yup! I really do love this shop. It may be small, but it's mine." Lifting a small tray, she placed it on the counter and grinned, leaning her front half over the counter as she viewed Crispian, tail swishing playfully. Pointing at the tray, her wings fluttered gently as she directed her friends attention to the blue cupcakes with yellow and orange accents and purple frosting.
"I'm glad you stopped by. I just made a new recipe." She squirmed slightly, hoping both that he'd notice the similar coloring in them and a certain someone, and yet not. Right after meeting him, she had been inspired to use some rather strange berries she had retrieved from a strange woman. They were sweet, except the yellow and orange bits, which tasted of lemon and orange. Being unable to taste, she couldn't honestly tell if it was good, but... that's what Crispian could do!

"I doubt you could ever look a mess." He blurted out. He colored slightly, hoping she wouldn't take it the wrong way, but he meant it too. Even covered in flour and frosting he bet she'd still look adorable and having a great time.
He watched her pull up a tray of cupcakes which looked oddly familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on it, and moved closer to the counter. "Well they look awesome." he said obliviously. He picked one up and turned it over in his paw looking at the decorations and breathing in it's scent, detecting notes of citrus, and another berry that he couldn't name. "Smells nice. I'm picking up citrus...orange and lemon? So I'm expecting a little zest...what's the flavor of the cake and frosting?" he asked looking over at her, and carefully picking off one of the accents and putting it in his mouth. His nose crinkled, but immediately nodded his head. "Those are good, nice combination of tart and tangy, which I figure are to balance the sweet out." he said as he started undoing the cupcake wrapper.

Alyss caught her blush before it showed, ears flicking up at the comment he had first made. A hand touched her cheek as she turned it away, laughing sweetly. "Oh, that's so sweet, but you'd be surprised what I could manage."
Wringing her hands together, Alyss watched him sniff then pop in a piece of the accents. Tapping her hands together, she pushed hair from her eyes briefly before her bangs fell back into place, watching him undo the wrapping.
"The frosting is a simple vanilla mixed with blueberry. The cake itself I'm not sure of. The berries were grown in my friends garden, and she claims that they are from her home planet. I'm told it's sweet and warm." Aaah, the issue with being unable to taste. Her hands folded into one another, eyes eagerly peeking from under hair, awaiting his response to the cupcake. She looked like a delighted child finally presenting someone they cared greatly for a present. The suspense was even worse due to the fact she didn't actually know what it tasted like, but she was absolutely certain it was baked correctly.

"You've never been in my studio when I've been on a painting streak. That is a mess." he chuckled and watched her hide what he figured was a blush. So dainty, she was like watching a butterfly, flit from flower to flower. It gave him an idea for a painting but he'd figured that out later.
He listened to her explain the cake and frosting and peeled back the wrapper enough to expose a good portion. "Sounds good." he lifted the cupcake towards her as if in a toast and then took a big bite making sure to get a good portion of cake, frosting, and accents. He looked thoughtful as he chewed, then nodded as he swallowed. "Tasty." he said. "The cake is sweet, but not too much and I have no clue what those berries are either but they remind me of something that's been out in the sun in the summer, The frosting accents it nicely, but maybe a little more blueberry, to help along the illusion, and the accents do have a nice zest tang that reminds me a bit of sangria without the alcohol." He smiled over at her. "I think you got a winner over all though." he unwrapped more of the cake and worked on finishing it off.

She giggled sweetly at the mental image of a Crispian covered in various amounts of paint. "Perhaps I'd like to see that, sometime." She smoothly mused, which was the truth. She had never seen an artist paint, and his pictures had dazzled her the last time she spotted them. She'd love to see him work, though, was that too personal?
Eager as he took a bite, his critique sent her tail wagging gently. It was a good one, delighting her that he received it nicely. More blueberry, alright. She can do just that. As he finished it she lifted herself into a chair and settled, tail wagging gently still.
"I'm glad you enjoy it. The cupcake was based off you." She admitted, immediately regretting it as her hands raised, waving to fend off any strange remarks. "I liked your art, a lot. So, so I made a cupcake. It was inspiring. I wanted to make sure you liked it, and approved..."

He chuckled. "I can give you the address to my loft. I promise though it's not as interesting as you think. No flying around naked or anything like in The Big Lebowski." his tail flicked from side to side. "But it can get messy.
He finished the cupcake and licked the remaining frosting from his fingers and brushed crumbs off his chest. He then turned pink under his dark fur at her admittance that they were inspired by him. Well that explained why they looked familiar at the very least. "I uh..." he took a moment to string together something resembling a competent thought. "I'm flattered. Really, I'm not just saying that. Generally you have to be a general and win a battle to get something inspired by you." he teased but then realized that now was as good a time as ever to show the little something she'd inspired. "I have to admit though, I have a little something that possibly you know...came about because of you." he pulled his sketch pad out of his bag and set it on the counter, flipping it open to a tagged page. "I hope you like it." he said turning it to show her a softly colored sketch of herself in colored pencil.

She had to cover her mouth to stop the abrupt giggle that almost left at the "flying around naked" part. However, her ears did perk up and she was more than elated to accept the address. "I'd love to! You got to see where I make my art, I'd love to see where you make yours!"
She didn't quite notice the blush, too preoccupied with joy at the fact she'd get to see the others studio. Shaking her head when he mentioned flattery, she had been about to explain that his talent had been what caught her eye when suddenly he presented a sketch of herself to him, displaying her own blush as well. Oh. Oh it was beautiful. Moving closer to view it, her tail rapidly gave away her pleasure at the drawing, wagging like a dog.
"It's beautiful! Thank you! I love it!" And she did! She wanted to hug the other, though the excited woman knew much better than to do so. Yet. Maybe later.

He stopped himself as he almost blurted out "it's a date" and instead went for a less panic inducing, "I even promise to clean up a bit. I admit I'm not the best housekeeper." he said with a chuckle.
He watched her reaction carefully and let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding. "I'm glad you like it. I spent awhile getting the colors just right. I'm sort of OCD about that sort of stuff." he flipped around the book and carefully removed the page and handed it to her. "For you then. I got one of your lovely cupcakes, so only fair I give you something in return." Inside he was bouncing around like a super ball thrown down a flight of stairs. She liked it, she really liked it! He wanted to cheer but instead kept his expression just so. Alyss had to be the sweetest girl he knew, and he didn't want to scare her off by acting like a lunatic.
"So when would you want to come over?" he asked tilting his head slightly. "I can do any time really, except Tuesdays and Thursdays, I do some freelance work for an advertising agency so I show sketches and stuff and don't get home until kinda late in the afternoon, any other time is good though." he said running a finger over the counter making little circles.

Giggling, the woman shook her head, a hand waving. "My kitchen half the time is a mess, I can handle a little bit of clutter. Besides, it makes a place look owned."
Her other hand held the picture still, eyes drawing themselves back to the beautiful image. A blush touched her cheeks once more, butterfly wings on her wrists fluttering. It was extremely flattering, and almost embarrassing. He had remembered her, even well enough to draw something this accurate. Pulling it slightly to her chest, the woman blinked and glanced up when he questioned times, tail wagging gently.
"Oh, well, hm. I work everyday, but weekends are open. I tend to close the shop early on weekends. I work until 8 pm on weekdays, and until 4 pm on weekends. Anytime after my work hours is alright.... if that's okay with you!"

"It does, but I know it causes panic in some people to see a lot of clutter." he said with a slight shrug. "And it wouldn't kill me to thin the herd of empty paint tubes and broken pencils." he said jokingly.
He watched her with the picture and couldn't help but beam. He'd always had a good memory for facial features, but it was nice to know he'd done a good job at it. "I'm really glad you like it." he said. He knew he'd just said a few moments ago, but he really was pleased that he'd managed to make her happy.
He nodded at her schedule. "Weekend works for me. Saturday maybe? I...I'll order take out maybe? Since you're coming all that way and it'll be almost dinner time and all." he hesitantly peered at her. He wasn't sure how that suggestion would be received, but it was only polite to offer to feed her since she was coming over around a meal time.
