Let's talk creepy. I love creepy. Creepypasta, horror movies, things that go bump in the night and make you leave the nightlight on. Watching other people crap their pants in terror is hilarious, but when the shoe's on the other foot, suddenly you find yourself asking for a different pair of shoes.
The incident that inspired this topic goes as follows: I make an avatar. I save said avatar. CREEPY FIGURE SHOWS UP ON SAID AVATAR AFTER SAVING WHAT. Proceed to silently thank god for strong bowels. I read too much creepypasta. For a split second I thought my laptop was cursed... but then I remember I've never used the 'bleeding eyes' pose of the ravenwood manor before.

Creepypasta is the worst internet invention ever.
And yet I find myself binge reading it now and again. Then I can't sleep with the lights off for an entire week.
There's a lot of poorly written stories out there, but then there's those gems, or the initially ineffective tales that sink in deep, terrorizing me hours or even days later. It's usually stories about those innocent things in life gone terribly wrong. Or ghosts. I can't stand ghost stories.
I won't discuss what I've read, because half of them that really scared me are just silly. Like the goddamned pokemon creepypasta. Also, I don't want to revisit those memories because I enjoy sleeping.
But I'm curious about your opinion on the different kinds of horror. I would find it interesting to dissect what exactly makes something creepy in a written story, because if some kind of formula could be created, it would pure gold! I've always wanted to write my own creepypasta, just to make people cry.
Either way, this is for you ... Why Are Things Creepy?

Rightfully so. The whole damn continent is like a scary story mothers make up to scare their children out of selling all their possessions and becoming a world-traveling hobo.

Eurydice Evyn Rightfully so. The whole damn continent is like a scary story mothers make up to scare their children out of selling all their possessions and becoming a world-traveling hobo. Don't get me wrong, I would love to visit or reside almost anywhere in Australia. I would just need to adjust my insurance accordingly.

I had to think about it and well, I guess I'm afraid of big spiders. sweatdrop I know that they can't hurt me if I don't bother them, it's just if I see one really close to me I jump up. xd I'm always the brave one to capture what ever giant creature comes into the house, so I'm not that scared of them. emotion_c8 Don't worry I just put them back outside.
