In the mythology Frey was a man! In fact he was the twin brother of Freya! He's the god of sun and rain! About Freya it's seems she was the first valkyrie and it's for this reason she take the half of Einherjars! She's also the goddess of love and fertility! Frey and Freya are both Vanir!
Frigg is the wife of Odin! She's the first of all goddesses! And she's the goddess of love and wedding! Like Odin Frigg is an Aesir! _______________________________________________________________

Yes, Frey was male. He was the god of the light elves, called "Ljosalf." He reigned in the world called "Alfheim" which was above Midgard. He is the race of Vanir.
Frey had a ship that could fold up and fit inside his pocket. He also had a sword that could lay whole battlefields to waste with one swing. On Ragnarok, however, he was without his magic sword. He gave the sword to his shield-bearer, named Skirnir, in exchange for getting Gerd to marry him.
The races of Aesir and Vanir are two races of gods. In the early days of gods, the Aesir and Vanir did battle. Eventually a truce was called, and the fighting stopped. They exchanged individuals to keep the peace. The Vanir were given Freya.
Freya's chariot is pulled by two cats, and she has a giant golden-bristled battle boar which she rides. Freya is the wisest of all the gods. She has a hall called Sessrumnir, where half of the fallen heroes go. The other half go to Odin's hall, Valhalla. Freya also takes women, and allows the wives and sweethearts of the heroes to reside with them in her hall (as opposed to Valhalla, which only has men).
Frigg is a Vanir, and she is Odin's wife and queen of the gods. She has the power to see the future, but she tells nobody what she sees. She is the only other person, besides Odin, who is allowed to sit on Odin's high seat. When one sits on the high seat, they are able to see everything in the universe.

Yes there are several small mistakes like this in VP such valkyries mixed with the three ladies of fate. There are around a dozen or so valkyries i think.
But yeah as it was said Frey is a male.

Frey is more commonly known as Freyr, to distinguish him from his twin sister, Freyja

Hero Of Three Kingdoms Yes there are several small mistakes like this in VP such valkyries mixed with the three ladies of fate. There are around a dozen or so valkyries i think. But yeah as it was said Frey is a male. true... and Hryst was really one of the 12 valkyries! something interesting about valkyries is that, beside their role as chooser of the slayn, they played an important part in valhalla. The life of an Einherjar is simple, you would spend the day fighting to death with the other chosen warriors in the great plains of Asgard in order to practice for the ragnarok, wake up in the evening from your false death and join all of your friends in the halls of Valhalla, and join Odin in a rich banket, filled with the finest food and the best beers, and wake up the next morning with the most terrible hangover of your life (death? XD) and start fighting again ^^ The other role of the valkyries takes place during the evening. While the Einherjar are festing, they would seduce them, bring them food and drink and eventually, abuse of them! blaugh valkyries are not as chaste as they seem to be lol!!!

I know that freya had an overwhelming lust for jewls. in one story she went to 3 dwarves who made the most beautiful jewlery s he had ever seen but they would not give it to her unless over the next 3 days she slept with all 3 of them. Loki <3 followed her and found out about this, so he went to Odin and told him, so Odin told loki to get the neckless. at night he snuck in as a fle and stole the neckless from her and gave it to odin. and when freya found out Odin demanded that she start a war in Midgard between two kings.

I read that somewhere, but this was not quite reliable.... I was merely reporting what I found ^^
but true, what I read sounds strange now that you tell me Odin damned a valkyrie upon a kiss

I was on another forum, in a thread I made where people would make little "skits" with the characters from Valkyrie Profile. One of the users did one with Freya commenting that Lenneth wasn't wearing her chastity belt. Since there's no reference to that in the game, I just assumed that was part of the mythology.
Anyone know for sure? It does make sense in a way, because it would certainly complicate things if she got involved with any of the einherjar...

Three common misconceptions:
1. Freyja was not concidered wisest of all the Gods. And even out of the Goddesses, that would be Frigga, but even she can have the wool pulled over her eyes, so to speak, by Loki.
2. Not all Valkyrie choose the slain. Technically only Freya chooses the slain, and three of the many valkyrie take them from the battle field. The other valkyrie tend to be hand maidens in their daily lives. The three that collect the slain are Gunnr, Rotas and Skuld (yes, Skuld, as in the youngest of the Nornir, she is also a valkyrie.)
3. Freyja and Freyr were also originally lovers as well as twins. This was not uncommon to the Vanir. Especially concidering their mother, was also their aunt. Their Father, Aegir, married his sister, their mother.

REM Sleep seduse? where did you hear that. that would challange the title as battle maiden valkyries. in the story of the valkyrie from the witches heart Odin damned one of his valkyries for the meir fact that she kissed someone. Where did that come from? Two very noteable valkyrie that would dispute that are: Freyja. the lead Valkyrie and Vanir Goddess. She was lovers with her brother, later married and had two daughters. Slept with dwarves for a necklace called Bringsamin. As well as Loki, and, as Loki damned her in the hall, as having slept with every attendant and visitor, Alf and otherwise. And Brunehild, from the tale the ring of Nibelung.
