*Personality:
Kaito can seem a little distant at times, never being much of a social butterfly. He always followed his brother around and hid when others were around. He is a very caring and excepting person once you gain his trust and friendship. He has some mental issues with night terrors of his brother dying and having the Titans invade his city. After his brother died (he had been in the military and fought off Titans during their first invasion), he also began to cut himself. Another reason he doesn't really like to be around people. He prefers to be alone so he doesn't have to explain himself to others. He's always been quiet and shy. He is also very smart and is well known for it. He's not the bravest soul or the strongest, but he comes up with good plans.

Kaito was born as the second son of the Watanabe family. They were apart of the small group of pure Japanese that escaped into the walls that protected the rest of humanity. The father was lost on the trip, having been a sickly older man. His mother made sure that her 3 year old and newborn son would be able to live, even as caged creatures. It was better than death. Or so she believed.
Saito had always been the strong and outspoken one. Kaito always hid behind his bigger brother who protected him from everything and everyone. Anyone that dared tried to harm him, Saito was there. Kaito was a sickly child, though he grew out of it by the time he was 10. But by that time, Saito had also decided he wanted to join the military. He wasn't sure about his spot, but he would work up to it.
Kaito stayed with his mother, just growing and learning. By the time he was old enough to join the military, the Colossal and Armored Titans has shown themselves. He had to escape with his mother, though he lost her quickly. He still does not know where she is. He also heard of his brother's death, he fell into a deep depression. He began to harm himself, not wanting to live anymore. He was weak and the Titans would come again. Why bother?
He never got completely out of his hole, but once the chance came to join the military as a trainee, Kaito knew he would have to. To make his brother proud of him.
