xoxo Prudence (or Persephone, as she prefers to be called) was born and raised by comfortably upper middle class parents in a small, boring city in California. She was the elder of two identical twins, with her younger sister being born twenty minutes after her. The two siblings were nigh inseparable in their youth, and were known to be quite the double act. Prudence was much more mischievous, brash and outgoing than her sister, and might have become quite a troublemaker if not for the sobering effect her twin's quiet and gentle personality. The two sisters remained very close to one another until, at the age of eighteen, the younger was killed in a hit and run accident. It was one of very few moments when the twins were not in each other's company.
xoxo Needless to say, the incident left Prudence completely devastated. Barely managing to finish high school, she attempted to continue with her plans of attending college, but found herself to be completely unmotivated. She dropped out after one semester, and moved to a city far away from her hometown, where she began to sort of spiral downward into a state of depressed apathy. She cut her hair, and began the process of getting several piercings and tattoos, as she found that her reflection reminded her too much of her sister. For four years she wallowed in her unhappy emotions, cutting herself off from family and friends and beginning several very unhealthy habits, the effects of which still bother her to this day.
xoxo It wasn't until she was twenty two that Prudence became sick of her lifestyle. She decided that it was time to start anew, to try living once again. She began attempting to quit most of her unhealthy habits (smoking being an exception), enrolled at a nearby community college, and began generally attempting to act like a properly functioning human being again. With the support of her family (most of her old friends had lost contact with her by this point) she was able to kick her more dangerous addictions and graduate two years later with an associate's degree in Automotive Technology. It had nothing to do with any of her interests, but seemed like a good, practical subject to major in. Now, at the age of 25, she decided it was time to move away and really start anew. A fresh life in a new place, that is her hope on Nirvani Island.
