Rarity blinked. She had not expected such a reaction from him about telling the other's they were expecting. Tilting her head, she brought a finger to her chin. "Hmmmyess... Applejack could be a bit of trouble. She is quite brutally honest sometimes... but I'm sure she'd warm up to the idea after a while....... wouldn't she?" she asked, large blue eyes blinking at the back of his head.
"And I guess I should tell Sweetie Belle too... I think she'd be more excited to learn she's now sort of... sisters with Applebloom." she laughed....and then blushed. They... were a thing right? Living together practically... she was going to bear his children....would he.... ask her to marry him after? Images of a dazzling wedding on the farm, not too glitzy not to plain, danced in her mind. Several coos and baby like gurgles erupted from her throat.

"Eeeh-Yup." he started and looked about the room a moment. "She would eventually..."
His ear twitched to her next comment. Sort of sisters... He frowned a bit. He was doing things a bit backwards, wasn't he?
"Yeh know..." he started after a moment and leaned against the door frame. "AJ'd take the news a bit better if'n we were gettin' hitched. After all we've been through an' all we're about to endure, it only seems right ta tie the knot, as they say..." he paused another moment or two then turned to look at Rarity, taking in her reaction and seeing on how she'd approve of the idea.

It was as if he could read her mind! Stirring from her day dreams, Rarity looked at him with big sparkling blue eyes, faint traces of tears welling up in the corner. She was excited, flushed, shocked and happy all at the same time. Her voice felt as if it was fighting its way out. She wanted to scream her answer to the rooftops but all she could manage in that single second was a delighted... "Yes!"
And then after the utterance of that single word, its as if her emotions couldn't take it anymore. They let loose like a shaken fizzy drink from its bottle as she popped into the air and over onto Big Mac, latching onto him with a loud scream and a coo. "Oooh Big Mac, I would love to marry you! Our wedding would be so GLORIOUS! We could have it here on the farm... oh when its all done of course I mean.... that way you feel most comfortable. And I shall look splendid of course, the absolute talk of the tree! And I can make dresses for all my friends and a dashing suite for you! Why little frills for Sweetie Belle and Applebloom.... oh can't you just see it now?!?!!" she sighed dreamily, resting her head on his chest.
It felt an abrupt sudden way to suddenly be engaged...but... it worked. What was important was they loved each other. That and they did now have a family to plan for.....among other things....Oh one step at a time Rarity ol' girl, one step at a time........ still......
SHE WAS GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!

Big Mac chuckled and hugged her close when she clung to him. A large part of him feeling elated and off in another world! Not only was he agreeing to marry the one Mare he'd been crushing on for years, they were also in the process of starting a family together. This stallion was giddy beyond belief!
Still, the tall work horse had plenty of things yet to do and his work load was doubling by the minute. He nodded to her words and smiled. "Sounds like a lovely idear, Rarity. How about I leave the plannin' of the weddin' to you since you seem to know more about that kind of stuff than myself. And I can head up to the tree later and see what the customs are for this sort of thing."
He turned, eyeing the room again to make plans for cribs and the like. "I definitely don't want to be steppin' on any hooves now that we're in this new land. I supposed it's best if we consider the way the fauns here do their marriages, don'cha think?"

Rarity paused in a moment of all her planning and cooing and aawing and spazzing to really stop and consider his last words. She had originally been thinking of how every other pony went through these things... but.... well she couldn't exactly find any reason to argue with his suggestion either.
They were now living at the great tree, or at least had been. They had taken oaths of loyalty and ceremonies of power and just general in all sort of... became like normal fauns. Why not do it their way?
Going over to him, she linked her arms around his one and snuggled up close to him, smiling. "I think that's a wise and proper idea Big Macintosh. Let's have us a proper fun marriage!"

Big Mac nodded and threw in another of his trademark, "Eeey-Yup!" He made a mental note to lead Rarity back to the tree later and seek out one of the council members then. It would make sense at least. And Rarity would still have to wait a week or two to move in.
Besides, now there were little ones (or a little one?) on the way and he now had a long list of furniture and the like to build for the little tyke(s).
He smiled, happy with how his life was falling into place here. He had been skeptical at first. Starting a farm over, from scratch, with little supplies and the like was hard and stressful work. With all he endured and all he'd accomplished thus far, he couldn't be happier now.
