Loud was the river when the river could talk

you never take without giving.

The next morning there was a light breeze in the air. The sun had risen and laid down its golden blanket of light across the wheat fields outside of the mountains in which the Temple of Dreams was built. Orange maple trees dotted the skyline where the blue sky met the yellow ground. Amelia danced through the field, not caring for where her next step would land or who might be watching. There was a beat to her movements, and as she kicked to one site and tilted her head, her resplendent, golden blonde locks seemed to reflect with light and dazzle. She swung her body round and spun in the wheat, singing along to a tune coming from the MP3 player in her hand. Contraband from Non-Magic Earth, tweaked with Grey Market magic (stolen from the Arcaz Sovereignty no doubt) to work in Magic Earth. "Sometimes I feel like i'm a hot goblin", Amelia sung, her high notes amateurly trained but by no means perfected. She continued to dance and smile and stretch her arms out to the sun around her. "Little bit perfect little bit problem" she waved her hands through the wheat, breaking into a sprint. Could be a dream or your worst nightmare, but I know who i am so I don't care." Amelia spun again, almost losing her feet, continuing her pursuit of joy. "I I know who I am so I don't care!"

The song finished and Amelia forced herself to a stop. She looked around, taking in the fresh air, resting her eyes on the mountains before her where the Temple of Dreams could be seen rising in the distance. The sun's light seemed to glisten off her skin, her blond locks could probably light a small room and her positivity practically resonated from her very soul. It was an energy that even Seri could feel from the moment when she woke up. It was subtle, as though she had just had the best sleep of her life that made her feel ready to march through the day ahead. It wouldn't be until she emerged from her room and into the main hall that she would see Amelia speaking with the Oracle. "Of course." Amalie’s voice carried a warmth that could turn even the bleakest silence golden. It was the voice of someone who had seen hardship and chosen, deliberately, to keep smiling — steady, mature, but touched with sunlight. "Nokori is okay for now. The nightmare is gone. I'll be heading east towards the Highlands next. There is word of an awful nightmare putting shadows on the moon at night."
"Your help is always appreciated, Amelia. Zakernand is once again within your debt"
"It's my home, Oracle. Nothing will every change that. Besides, Non-magic Earth was getting boring anyway."
It was at that moment that Amelia noticed Seri and gave her a warm smile. Her golden earring seemed to catch the light, causing a tiny reflection in her beautiful sky-blue eyes. "Fusheng, the dawn bows before you." The Oracle tipped his head towards her out of respect. Amelie followed confidently, bowing low towards her. "Lunsera - i'm honoured to meet you. My name is Amelie. How did you rest?"

Sometimes I feel like I'm a hot goblin
Little bit perfect, little bit problem
Could be a dream or your worst nightmare
But I know who I am, so I don't care
Oh, I know who I am, so I don't care

And when push comes to shove
It's a strange disposition that I'm learning to love
Got a range I can trust
And a strange intuition to sing half a key up

Seri

When Seri awoke to the glistening sun streaming through the window into her cozy room she knew it'd be a wonderful day. She was definitely more positive and energetic due to having one of the best sleeping nights of her new life. The egg was still swaddled in her clothes right where she had left it causing her to celebrate in silent success seeing that it had not cracked. Undressing quickly, she gentle laid the egg on her pillow and got into her regular clothing still feeling the eggs warm emulating off of them. Once clothed, she picked up the egg carefully situating it for transportation into the main foyer. In the main hall she was meet with the surprise of a new arrival conversing with the Oracle. She was absolutely radiant with her golden locks and confident smile. Now this girl was a true angel and seemed more suited for the job Seri had been appointed. In that moment, she felt so insignificant compared to the girl whom knew exactly what was going on in this region. A place called, Nokori was safe because of her and now she plans to head East towards the Highlands because Nightmares have been casting shadows on the moon.

The Oracle was indebted to her but she found it a pleasure to serve her home, similar to how Seri served Father Abaddean when she could. Amelie, that was her name, and she had noticed Seri standing there listening quietly. Seri felt shy and wanted to crawl back to her room, but sheepishly approached the two holding the egg close to her chest. Her smile was blinding, her hair so reflective in the sunlight, and her sky blue eyes looked as though they could see into Seri's soul. She didn't feel as pure as the angel before her as she shook her head concerned. Being bowed to and acknowledged as some kind of savior was probably something she'd never get used too. Amelie introduced herself asking about her sleep to which Seri stumbly replied. "Uhhh, Seri...it was fine...I mean good...really good..." Her cheeks reddened as she looked down at the egg holding it closer to her as if it were a security blanket.

Amelia felt Seri's uncertainty the moment she began to speak. This girl was still young, far from finished with life's hardships. It would appear that Longsara felt Seri was not finished with it either. What beautiful things lay ahead of this girl? Who was so shy and unconfident that she could barely string a sentence together without becoming frail? What tragedy was she still to feel as she uncovered the rest of her soul? Amalie beamed a sweet smile as she followed Seri's eyes down towards the egg at her chest. Amalie bowed again. She made sure to whisper her respects to the unborn spirit. "You're going to do great, you know?" Amalie said, reaching her hand out towards Seri. She waited, in case Seri would react negatively, and then softly placed her hand on her shoulder. With barely a squeeze she let her light envelope the girl without even feeling it. Hope Amalie thought, as if commanding the very word to enter Seri's being. That was her gift to everyone she ever met, to any soul or creature or thing. She would gift them her hope. "Anyway" Amalie pulled back, "gotta catch the next caravan east, they leave soon and I'm their safe passage. Maybe we'll see each other soon?" Amalie turned to the Oracle, nodding to him with respect before heading out towards the doors.

"She is the one of the more exceptional Light Elementals I've met" the Oracle began, stepping beside Seri to guide her up towards some stairs, leading her up towards a balcony that looked out of the temple and into the mountainous valleys around it. "I imagine you are not well versed in Elemental lore."
The Oracle took in a breath, letting the breeze flow through his long ebony hair. "We are a people of spiritualists, connected to the elements through our blood. Some more so than others, and usually in childhood we experience something that triggers our soul to align with one element. Air, fire, water, earth and light. Some of us never achieve this... others twice. Whether this is a gift or unfortunate depends on the individual, but reforming the soul even once is exhausting. The Seers who brought you in yesterday; each of a different element, if you recall how they cared for you. We hold dominion over our aligned element. We can guide it, use it like an extension of our soul. I must ask out of curiosity, Fusheng, were you an elemental in your previous life?"

Seri

Amalie was so kind and understanding despite Seri thinking she had just made a fool of herself. The shining female went down and whispered positivity to the unborn spirt before reaching her hand out to Seri. Out of instinct, she squeezed her eyes shut not sure of the girl's intentions until she softly tapped her shoulder. Seri slowly opened her eyes in surprise and became less tense as an unknown light enveloped her. Seri felt hopeful for her future and for the birth of the spirit residing within the egg. Amalie decided it was time to depart and bid the two farewell. Seri nodded hoping to see her again and somehow felt this probability could become very real. She watched her leave almost anxiously wanting to follow, but the Oracle had another path for her.

As he guided her up the stairs to a balcony that over looked the mountain region, he told her that Amalie is one of the more exceptional Light Elementals. He figured she wasn't knowledgeable on this subject to which she silently agreed. The wind flowed through his ebony hair as he began to explain to her how his people are connected to the elements by blood. As children, they experience a phenomenon that triggers one of the five elements aligned with their souls; air, fire, earth, water, and light. It does not happen for all, and depending on the soul the elements could be a blessing or a curse, and some may develop twice their elemental strength. Regardless, the soul is exhausted by this which means neither outcome is easy. As he said, she did recall the Seers whom used their elements to help her yesterday, like the woman who could control water. In their dominion their elements are an extension of their souls. Curiously, he wondered if she had ever been an elemental in her pervious life to which she shook her head no. She then looked down at her egg and asked curiously. "Will this be an elemental when it hatches?"
