Adi solemnly agreed to remove the angel from her body on one condition; it had to be quick. Lucas nodded decided to fulfill his end of the deal, but hesitatingly staggered over to his sword. To stall for time, he asked the Oracle how he brought it here but he didn't answer for he was a man of many mysteries. Retrieving the weapon, the blade rang through the air celebrating the fact that it was back in its master's grip. The blade hid from the sun as if it were ashamed of its beauty. Zuriel told him exactly what to do, but it must be daunting on the man since there is a chance he could accidentally kill her. The thought of watching a friend getting skewered like a piece of meat wasn't a pleasant image either. Suddenly, the blade revealed its crystallized surface within the light allowing everyone to gaze upon its glory. Lucas confide to the Angel admitting that he didn't want to hurt her, but sense his intentions weren't melancholy she'll be safe. Zuirel barely managed to convince him and Lucas said it was as simple as falling asleep. Yet, their wary minds and ever watching eyes were all on the gypsy.

Stepping up to her, he assured that she was ready and arched the blade back ready to plunge it through her gut. Alexis buried her face into Laxion's shoulder for comfort, but Claudia was resistant to any security. Even if it was from Nyru, she couldn't take her eyes away. In one swift movement, Lucas thrust forwards and although the blade turned invisible the sound of ripping flesh and cloth was undeniable. Adi froze and Claudia covered her mouth in shock almost becoming sick herself. No blood stained the rooftop and a ring of white light outlined the wound. Life was whisper away from the gypsy's once glistening eyes and she fell back as Lucas yanked his sword free. Claudia ran and fell to her knees to catch the woman on one side while Nyru balanced the woman on her other side. They lowered her half way on their laps and Lucas became frantic asking if she lived. The blonde checked for a pulse in her delicate wrist. It was faint but there, and just to make sure she pressed her ear against her chest too. She has an irregular heartbeat that continued to slow so it was hard for her to make a diagnosis.

At the corner of her eye, Zuriel's body faded and transformed into a droplet of gold that found sanctuary in the sword. When she lifted her head, a white droplet from Adi burst out of her gut and was adsorbed into the blade. Claudia's eyes widened in fear but the ritual was far from over. The Oracle commanded Lucas to free them and once Alexis helped him regain his compose, he held his sword aloft. His words released them in a spectacle of bright lights. Adi's droplet soared high into the Adi before it swirled down into her chest while the golden droplet ascended until it could no longer be seen. Claudia looked to Adi shaking her a bit in the hopes that she'll awaken soon.

The sun has set, I close my eyes
I pretend everything's alright...Drowning in anger
I can't pretend everything's alright...Please don't let me fall forever...
There's a hate inside of me like some kind of master!

I try to save you but I can't find the answer
I'm holding onto you, I'll never let go

I need you with me as I enter the shadows

My Santuary

While Lucas and Zuriel spoke, she felt Zuriel indifference in the interaction but said nothing; ignored it all in fact. Her focus was preparing herself, but Adi already knew no level of preparing would truly be enough...least not for her. The gypsy did ind a place away though closer to Lucas and the blade in front of everyone, Adi felt a bit on display. As if she was carrying out a performance, but if only that were true.

Closing her eyes, Adi wasn't sure for how long but it was the flash of light of the blade or how the blade vanished from sight that made her focus on it even though her eyes were closed. Zuriel could feel it, and there for she could as well. A squeeze of her eye lids and the clenching of her fists was the sign that Adi was prepared for the strike just before it happened. Upon the strike though, honey amber eyes snapped out with a shocked expression; rosy lips parted in an expression in similar shock. Adi's hands though instinctively reached up though to cradle her stomach where the sword impaled her.

Honey eyes gazed at them all for sheer moment before the life in her eyes began to faid, and Adi surely felt it. Painless...like falling asleep, the sleep part wasn't wrong; she did feel like she was falling into a deep sudden sleep as the world fell away. That feeling only intensified when she began to fall backwards but Adi never felt herself being caught. No, by that time the paralyzing pain in her body had Adi in its clutches. The sword didn't hurt...but something else did.

She tore at the darkness with her nails, withering in it; struggling and screaming as it felt like her body was being ripped asunder cell by cell. Yet everyone looking on, saw a peaceful woman with barely any life in her. The darkness was lighting the darkness, washing away some of the pain. Adi reached for it, desperate for the sanctuary the strange foreign yet familiar light provided. Wanting nothing else to embrace it, she kept reaching for it, not aware of the reality of the world around her leaking through. Didn't feel the cries of concern or the shaking.

With a start and a crying gasp of air, Adi came to the waking world. Her body stiff and rigid as she lay there propped up and held by her friends. The gypsy could barely acknowledge them through the aching pain, the fiery tingles that consumed her body. Her limbs felt heavy as if filled with lead, because when Adi reached up to clutch her stomach and chest it was a effort that seemed impossible to overcome. Lips parted sucking in air, half the time through clenched teeth, but no cries came out as she didn't have the air to do so, barely got enough to breath. Instead the salty tears leaking from the corner of her eyes was the only sign of her discomfort and pain; head thrown back and staring at the ceiling, some of those tears met the tile floor.

Everything seemed out of focus, nothing felt right...all of it so confusing. Hard to focus through the pain, the heavy emptiness and tingles like licks of flame, yet she found one point to focus on, the golden point headed toward the sky.

Ignoring how painful or difficult it was, Adi lifted a shaky hand reaching out for the retreating light in the sky that she knew was Zuriel.

"..Z-Z-Zurr..i-iel.." she gasped out, barely able to get her lungs to function enough to take in air, or voice to work properly as it was all croaky as if she had screamed to the point of her throat bleeding through the ordeal. "..g-good-b-bye..."

The tears simply came harder after that, with him gone now, where did that leave her...what was left of her?

Hand dropping carelessly and limply to the floor, the rest of her body followed; become lax but still the pain remained however duller then before. Honey eyes darkened and became vacant as Adi stared at nothing and drew within her self...as with Zuriel gone, there was plenty of space now for her to retreat to...so much emptiness within herself to get lost in, and it made her painfully aware of how lonely it was.

OOC: you went kingdom hearts on me and i throw it back hehe

"But that was then and this is now
Now look at me"
lexis Truesvale
"The air is still, a path appears. The choice is clear, I'm finally here.
Safely back in your arms... "

This is the part of me
That you’re never gonna ever take away from me,
Throw your sticks and your stones,
Throw your bombs and your blows
But you’re not gonna break my soul

(( Honestly i got so excited when i say "my sanctuary" and i was in denial until i clicked it and yelped in excitement xD))

"By the angel!" Lucas said in sweet relief, sighing and hanging his head after hearing Adi's voice mutter Zuriel's name. He truly thought he had killed her and banished her soul to oblivion. "It's done" The Oracle stated, almost smiling, knowing that this ordeal was over and that the combination that must never survive was over. Who knows what could have happened if they remained together, he hated to ponder what it could mean until now. The Angel, however caring, could have destroyed her from the inside out in order to free himself, who knows, perhaps even the other Angels could have killed her for him. Or they could.. miraculously live together for eternity... such a long time for two voices to share one body, they would become walking cataclysm... something far too unstable. The Spirit World would shake, as if it were a mirror of this world it would be torn asunder and the real would wouldn't notice a thing.

Lucas almost dropped, his knees seemed weak but Laxion and Alexis caught him. "I see now that taking on the might of an Angel isn't something a mortal should do frequently..." Lucas said, and Alexis replied "hopefully it isn't something you'll have to do again".

Dearly Beloved

((I'm going to time skip a little, I hope you guys don't mind))

It's been almost a week now, but for some of them it felt like far longer. Living in the Temple with the Oracle and his people was exactly what they needed to recover and feel calm once more. Laxion felt most at home finally being able to explore his father's homeland and get a better understanding of his elemental heritage. He found peace in the mountains, often visiting the Highlands to the west, sometimes Nyru would join him when he wasn't spending his time with Claudia and Rur'Adika. Alexis spent the bulk of her time helping to rebuild and tend to those worst affected by Lucifial's attacks, many of the towns of Zakernand were just as bad if not worse than the cities of Occulas that were on their way to repair so much quicker than here. Lucas simply explored the local areas, helping where he could and often standing alone by the Spirit Fissure, questioning everything he knew before and what he knows now. They are not alone in this world, humans, elves, elementals... daywalkers. Everything else in between. they are all but a small circle of what really exists outside of their world. Word of a new world on the horizon of the skies is proof of that, the Lords of Hell are testimony, and the High Angels themselves are fact enough that they are not truly alone. In order to survive, Lucas believed that Lysandiel was right all along, Redemption is a chance that everyone must have, and through it everyone must work together to create harmony, just as the Guildeam set out to do long ago. He just hoped it would last, rumours of a living heir to the throne of Asmodius shakes the foundations of the now standing government, a King of Occulas would mean a powerful vote that can overrule any unanimous decisions made in the High Court. Nyru spent much of his time between Laxion, Rur'Adika and Claudia. And none of them had to touch their weapons once, not even look at them during their stay here, everything was tranquil.

And today was different. The Oracle has summoned them all to the great hall where all of this began. Where the Oracle first envisioned the oncoming storm that was Lucifial, but today was different to that. The Oracle stood at one end atop a platform, and when everyone lined up they were all probably thinking this was goodbye. On the way, Laxion had said to Alexis and Lucas how he thought "The Oracle probably wants to give us a formal farewell". Nyru even said to the girls "You know... it will be strange going back home... to our home" looking between Adi and Claudia. They all lined up before the Oracle and waited. Incense filled their nostrils and their well-fed stomachs sat comfortably, they were back in their own clothes too, Alexis in her symbolic wizard outfit, Nyru and Laxion in their armour, Lucas in his prestigious robes. "Firstly" The Oracle began, hands carefully clasped together at his waist, "I want to thank you all again, on behalf of Zakernand and the whole of Magic Earth. Know that my Temple is yours to use whenever you may need, and that the spirits will forever guide you and protect you and your loved ones. But I have nothing more to say, not even a goodbye for I am sure we'll meet again in the future. However, I do believe Lucas has something he wants to say". Lucas was suddenly the focus of attention, all of them turning their heads to face him as he barely even grinned and stepped forwards to stand by the Oracle's side with a hefty scroll in his hand. What could he have to say? Was he... staying? Lucas said "There has been something I've been meaning to tell Team Elixer for some time... now however it's much to my pleasure that such honours have spread to another team close to their hearts." he looks to Adi, Claudia and Nyru now. "The Guildeam has formally invited you all to the High Court, where your support to the world will be recognised. It will not be before an audience, they know none of you care for fortune or fame, so you'll stand before only the leaders of the High Court. And you'll stand with them as Elites. Lords and Ladies."

The news was a surprise to everyone, Laxion couldn't believe it, he had always wanted to be knighted. It was every soldiers dream to become an Elite, well known for their skill in combat and superior generosity to the world. For Nyru this was more of a surprise, Daywalkers haven't been knighted for decades for obvious reasons. He couldn't help but let out a sigh of glee and smile to himself. Alexis turned immediately and pulled Laxion in for a hug that almost squeezed the air out of him. "They're expecting you all soon" Lucas added with a smile. Lucas stepped down and made his way towards Adi, not knowing how she would react but as he passed her he did say "I have the feeling you're not one for titles, but think of it as our gift to you. Perhaps even new opportunities. Hm?" but moments after Alexis was already running over like the young girl she once was and threw herself at Adi for a hug too. "This is amazing!" she said into Adi's shoulder.

((Are you guys cool with heading to the High Court in the next post? Lucas will take you, it's an extremely rare event ;D ;D ;D More gifts wait in tore too. hopefully very heartfelt gifts for each of you i hope))

I opened my eyes to another day
To things that I had known,
things that happened everyday.
I feel there's a shadow creeping up on me
The wind blows through the streets
Telling me something I don't see

Draw the line, and turn the time
Taking back what was mine
Now I can change almost anything
Hold tight, search for the light
Do I know what's wrong or right
Put the pieces back where they belong

Claudia Vesslia

After Adi's release from the Angel, the next week was nothing but unnatural tranquility. Not once did she lay eyes on her weapon or had the eagerness to pick it up. In a way, she lost her spirit to fight but even though that spirit is extinguishing she felt like she could make it rise again. The others had performed acts of courageous virtue over the week as she searched for something to easy her wary mind. Laxion delve into his families history and was accompanied by Nyru when he traveled to the Highlands in the west. Nyru would switch back and forth between his partner and her and Adi as often as he could. Adi and his friendship was growing exponentially, and although nothing was wrong with their relationship, she unintentionally distanced herself. The reason was unclear, but she figured after the Oracle bid them farewell she would leave everyone. She had her own agenda and exploiting her families history and finding something to fill that void in her heart. Until then, she found refuge with religious practices among the Oracle's Soothdayers. Alexis was off assisting the less fortunate survives of the Lucifial tragedy and Lucas sought spiritual encounters at the Spirit Fissure. Everyone seemed to be conforming to their new lifestyles quiet nicely.

They we're pulled from their routines one day because the Oracle had summoned them all to the main room. He stood confidently on a platform looking over them silently. Alexis, Laxion, and Lucas's guesses were about as good as hers in terms of what the Oracle may want to convey. They had occupied his domain long enough and Nyru indicated that it was probably in their best interest to return home. That's where she wants to start her lonely journey anyway, since it sound the most useful. She wasn't planning on taking him either because she couldn't steal his happiness of living a quaint life with Laxion. Besides, Adi was attached to him and she would have invited the gypsy to come with her but her best chance of healing was to stay near loved ones. The blonde realized her was spacing out and nodded to Nyru quickly as they approached the generous Oracle. The aroma of drifting incense soothed her and she wanted to spin around in glee. Maybe her red velvet dress would soak of the smell that she could take with her as a reminder of the time she spent here. Composing himself, the Oracle thanked them once again for their efforts and assured that their was always a place here if needed. He didn't announce a goodbye like they thought and instead called Lucas to the stage. The large scroll in his hand made her frown a bit because she wasn't prepared for a long emotional speech.

It wasn't a speech, but an announcement that he had been keeping from the teams until this moment. They had touched each others' hearts and were summoned to the High Court to probably be rewarded for achieving greatness. That's not the case. They're invention to the High Court was to be united as Elites, one of the highest honors in Magic Earth. Alexis bounced up and down over joyed and practically hugged the breath out of Laxion then Adi. Lucas stepped down and mentioned to Adi how this was a great opportunity for her to which Claudia agreed. The celebration for her was overwhelming and for a moment she tuned out of their voices. She wanted to accept this honor, but she still had plans set in the back of her mind to leave. She shook her thoughts and glanced to all of them pretending to smile.

Before she was even off the floor Adi had fallen unconscious from the ordeal and few a day and a half following she was asleep. Watched over by a rotation of companions and soothsayers to make sure her health was maintained. When the gypsy rose though, things did not change much, her body weak and heavy readjusting within her bed alone was exhausting let alone walking so she was bedridden for the week. It did not help her rather depressed state; left with her own thoughts, the aching emptiness Zuriel left behind and the raw feeling of having no goodbye.

The only good part was that when Adi woke, she found a cluster of some feathers in her hands; pure white and soft. 'His' feathers left as a gift and a memorial of him, it brought her joy and made the reality all to painful.

The gypsy herself through the while attempted to do her best to put on a smile on for the others, speak with about what they were doing. Later in the week spending time with both Alexis and Claudia, going for small walks as her strength came back to her. It was still however a challenge and left Adi exhausted, so when they were called to the hall by the Oracle, she managed to walk there but stood shakily before him. What the Oracle had to say was what Adi expected, however Lucas' announcement however came as a surprise.

"What..." she breathed beyond shocked; the gypsy never expected to be recognized, not even sure if she wanted to be. Fortunately it would just be the leaders, so a smaller crowd and she could remained relatively anonymous and invisible. Lucas only confirmed his knowledge of what she wanted as he passed and worries were soothed.

Adi was wondering if she could possibly decline, course then Alexis was leaping upon her with a strong embrace. The once host to an angel felt her knees begin to buckle but managed to find the strength to endure and return the embrace though not necessarily the enthusiasm.

"I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with the High Court...you'll have to forgive my rather cluelessness when it comes to this trip. Hard to believe though....so many things have changed...."

Her words were haunting and hollow as Adi trailed off as she began to think; eyes wandering towards the sky and heavens beyond that she could see.
