Tsubashi can be better known in two situations. The first, is when working on the creation of something. He takes his job very seriously, regardless of it being a project for himself or that is necessary for anyone else in the Soul Society. This is when he shows his most serious character. The second situation is when he fights. He shows a carefree behavior, due to his overconfidence in his strength and fighting abilities. Tsubashi has to be careful though if he does not intend on killing his opponents, for he might very easily cripple them with the nature of his attacks and his fighting style.

Time Frame: ???? aeons ago
"How can it be, that such a pure soul was born among this chaos?"
At the beginning of time, in a period when time itself was not measured, a domain of darkness was spreading its influence. The human world was threatened by said darkness, and the number of humans that died for no apparent reason started to increase. Ordinary men and women, children, the rich, the poor, the famous, the unknown, no pattern seemed to decide the deaths. People simply fell down unconscious and, after a few hours, brain death was confirmed, as well as a permanent stop in the heartbeat. None could be saved. The reason for that was unknown to the humans, but those who inhabited the spiritual realm could guess the reason for that. The darkness that was spreading forcefully removed the souls from their bodies. It attracted more attention when the spirits of the dead could not be located. They simply disappeared. The Soul King himself ordered that something had to be done. After a through investigation, it was found that the souls had been taken somewhere, a place where the darkness reigned and corrupted the souls.
The souls that were taken to the darkness fell into corruption, becoming malicious spirits that would only bring forth misfortune. Hollows. These, however, were born and strengthened by the darkness, quickly becoming Menos Class Hollows. With the increase in their numbers, attacks caused by them became more frequent. Countless deaths then became known to be caused by the Menos Class Hollows that were forcefully created in the darkness. Fights occurred more often, until the darkness' domains where the souls were taken to were found. One by one, they had to be purified, as well as the hollows. A lot of effort was required, and the Soul King himself dealt with the strongest source of darkness. There, however, he found a pure soul among the corrupted spirits that were becoming hollows. This soul was not touched by any of the corrupted spirits, nor the already transformed hollows. The purity of that soul was something that kept the others away. The ground beneath that soul was also the only piece of soil that had not been tainted by darkness. Reaching out for the soul, which was manifested in the form it had when it was still human, the Soul King rescued a man who was unconscious in the middle of darkness.
"How can it be, that such a pure soul was born among this chaos?" The Soul King spoke. The man was brought to the realm of the Soul King, where they discovered that the purity of this man's soul, was due to the pure flames that lived within himself. When he came to, he was informed of what had happened to him. Surprisingly, he was aware of his death and he simply did not get impressed by that fact. Deeming him as a worthy soul, the Soul King transformed the man with the relic in his temple. He was turned into a powerful existence. Rather, it should be said that the true power of his spirit awakened with his transformation, the power of a God of Death and Creation. Along with his new form, he chose a name for himself, Tsubashi Oni.
Chapter Two Death and Creation

Not too long after Tsubashi Oni was transformed by the relic in the Soul King's temple, he took interest in something the humans were fond of doing. The creation of weapons that allowed humans, who were weak beings, to face wild beasts that were much stronger than them. With time not being an issue for him, Tsubashi thoroughly studied the methods humans used to create their weapons. However, it was not long until the knowledge of humans was surpassed by that of Tsubashi Oni. The man took it upon himself to improve the methods to create weapons, using the powers he had as an entirely different entity than what humans were. He stumbled upon the knowledge to create weapons that were capable of cutting spiritual bodies. Against their enemies, the weapons capable of bringing harm to spiritual bodies would be extremely helpful. However, that was not all. He created these weapons, swords to be specific, in a way that not only they were capable of cutting spiritual bodies, but that would also turn out to be reflections of the user's own spirit and, at the same time, sentient beings that are linked to the Shinigami. The swords were named as Zanpakuto. Each of them had a living spirit which powered the sword and lent its powers to the one wielding the sword. The Zanpakuto are unique, with different powers, spirits and shapes. "To create... is a very amusing act." was once said by Tsubashi Oni when he decided to create those weapons for the Shinigami. Obviously he also had to teach them how the swords were structured, how they worked and what exactly they were. Within time, it became the main weapon of any Shinigami.

Zanpakutō Activation Statement | Kasai de tanzō, Akatatsu - Forged by fire, Red Dragon
Zanpakutō Blade Changes | Upon release, the entire Zanpakuto breaks apart into various pieces of malleable metal. These pieces then gather around both of Tsubashi's hands, each piece connecting o each other, forming black gauntlets that cover up to his elbows.
Shikai Abilities
Ryū Tanzō | 竜鍛造 | Dragon Forging
The most basic ability of Akatatsu is the ability of produce flames. In this form, Akatatsu produces flames from both gauntlets, strong enough to melt metal other than the gauntlet itself. It is from there that it gained the name of Dragon Forging, as these flames can be used to forge weapons. The flames produced by the gauntlets engulf it like an aura and, despite its intensity, Tsubashi is completely unharmed by it even if he touches his body with those flames.
Kaen Ōra | 火炎オーラ | Flame Aura
Tsubashi focuses his spiritual power in the palm of each hand, forming a bright, red colored sphere. The temperature of the sphere alone is insignificant. However, then both spheres are brought together as Tsubashi claps his hands, they disappear and emit a fiery aura which greatly increases the temperature of the surroundings. Tsubashi himself is not affected by this temperature change, but anyone else would find it hard to bear with the high temperature. Even if it is still possible to fight, the opponents would have their stamina sapped by the heat.
Iki | 息 | Breath
The strongest technique of Akatatsu's Shikai. Putting both hands together and motioning them forward, as if he was launching something, Tsubashi projects focused flames from his gauntlets forward in a cone. The intensity of the flames is greater than the normal release from Dragon Forging, this is a true Dragon's Breath.

English Translation | True Red Dragon
Bankai Appearance | Upon activation, the gauntlets diassemble into malleable pieces of metal, which multiply and cover the user's entire body, giving form to a full body armor, made of the same type of black metal as the gauntlet from the Shikai, but much more resistant. This armor gives Tsubashi the ability to produce flames with his entire body, as well as control those flames to a greater extent, and even weaker flames of others.

Ryū no Honō | 龍の炎 | Dragon's Flame
The ability to produce flames is much greater when compared to the Shikai's. Not only the flames can be produced from the entire body, now that Tsubashi is clad in a full body armor, but it is also much stronger and controllable. When his body is covered by the Dragon's Flame, each and every movement he makes leaves a trail of flames that linger in the air for a few moments. This trail has the same intensity as the flames emitted by his armor. Additionally, his normal melee attacks throw the flames up to two meters away from his body.
Shōkaki | 消火器 | Fire Extinguisher
Being able to manipulate weaker flames, as well as his own, Tsubashi is capable of extinguishing flames with a single swing of his arm. The motion itself is enough for him to extinguish the flames around him and as far as his own flames may reach, as if the flames are living beings that bow down to the dragon that first created them.
Hiryū | 火竜 | Fire Dragon
Tsubashi starts producing flames with his entire body, and then puts his hands in front of his chest, as if he was holding onto a ball. Within moments, between his hands a brighter flame becomes visible. As if holding onto it with his hands, Tsubashi moves the flame around his own body, until he throws it forward, revealing the true form of the flames. As it is launched towards his opponent, the flames take the form of a serpent-like dragon, which flies directly towards his target. The dragon itself is intangible, unable to throw anyone back. However, upon contact, it sets the target on fire with the flames of its own body. The intensity of these flames are much greater than the usual flames produced by Tsubashi's armor.
Shōnetsu Jigoku | 焦熱地獄 | Inferno
Shin no Akatatsu's stongest ability. Tsubashi generates his strongest flames using his armor. He concentrates his flames, without allowing them to spread as he intensifies their power. Once he builds up enough power, the flames on his armor seem to disappear as a small flame is lit on the palm of his hand. The flame then is held, as if it was a physical object and crushed within his hand, releasing all of its power, causing a devastating explosion which burns and knocks back everything except the user in an extremely large area. What is too weak is to bear with the flames is likely to get burned to ashes (or to melt) before being knocked too far away. Once used, however, the user feels drained and his Bankai will end.
Bankai Duration
Depends on the amount of Spiritual Power left. At any point, using Shōnetsu Jigoku will end the Bankai.

Shinigami Abilities
Zanjutsu | Tsubashi is a rather ferocious fighter, using his strength behind his sword in order to break the balance of those who attempt to parry or block his attacks. He is incredibly skilled, for he has always been fond of testing his newly created swords. If he doesn't hold back, he might end up killing or crippling his sparring partners (when he has any) due to the place he usually aims at.
Hakuda | This is what he excels at, specially when Tsubashi's Shikai and Bankai leave him unarmed, though armored. Even without Shikai or Bankai, without any weapons, Tsubashi is very strong, a master of Hakuda.
Hohō | As one of the most powerful beings of Soul Society, Tsubashi mastered Hohō over the years to support his combat abilities.
Durability | As a close ranged combatant, Tsubashi has an incredible resistance and could keep fighting for extremely long periods.
Reiryoku | As one of the most powerful beings of Soul Society and a member of the Royal Guard, Tsubashi's Spiritual Power is immense, easily surpassing those of the Captains.
