A long grassy stretch between King Town and Nix City, this route is still quite peaceful and excellent for beginner trainers. With large areas covered in lush green grass, this area is home to Pokémon that thrive in grasslands. As you get closer to Nix City you start seeing a few more trees that occasionally are home to other types of Pokémon. These Pokémon are sometimes a bit more aggressive as the grassland Pokémon occasionally try to pester them into leaving the area.

Laram's money pocket felt noticeably lighter as he trudged along the road away from King Town. He got hustled, and given a ton of items he didn't want. He barely got out of there with the ones he did. Nevertheless, he was determined to make more money in the next town. The only problem was that he had no idea how far away it was. For the most part, the new region seemed pretty linear. One road led to the town, and another led out the other way. Never more than two roads to know at a time. This, if Laram's hunch was correct was Route 2. It would make sense, considering the other was Route 1. There was a lot more grass everywhere, not the yellow flowers one found on the other road. But Laram spotted some more berry bushes and couldn't help himself. He and his team approached a patch of many different kinds and began stuffing their faces. Laram in particular stuck mainly to the Pecha berries he could find. Pecha berries were very soft and sweet, and he loved them. Jack picked a Razz berry, and Laram warned him before he consumed it."Those are spicy. If you don't like that taste, I would try something else."
The Bunnelby shrugged and put the whole berry in his mouth. Chewing slowly, Laram could see his eyes start to water, but the rabbit made no sign of wanting to spit the food out. Laram smiled and continued picking and eating Pecha berries. Shadow jumped onto his shoulder and plucked the berry from his hand and hopped away."Uh. Hey. Leggo my berry."The Froakie looked at him with a blank stare and tossed the berry into the air. But before Laram had a chance to reach for it, the creature latched onto it with his long tongue and ate it."What's going on with you? There's plenty more. You didn't have to take mine."The frog simply created a dagger made of white energy and squared up against his trainer. "Ohh. This is a challenge huh? Well bring it you little thief."Laram adopted a ready pose, accepting the challenge from his new partner. He smiled at the Froakie, intending to show both that he wasn't angry, and that he wasn't scared."You're move, you little delinquent."
"Michael, get behind me."The trainer placed himself in between the courier and the danger in front of them. A pack of Aipom were standing in their way menacingly. They all looked feral, snarling and snapping their teeth in an intimidation display. Pack mentality once again. But it was different. Laram knew that primate Pokemon acted differently than insects. Their actions were less predictable. They very easily could chase them down if they thought the trainers had something they wanted. The needed to be dealt with, not avoided. Luckily, they were bunched up in a group on the path. That gave the trainer an idea. It would take almost all of his team to pull off. The trainer breathed in, calming his nerves."Firnen, Shadow. Use your pledges."Laram's Pokemon nodded and both simultaneously jumped into the air and thrust their palms into the ground. As they did, pillars of fire and water erupted from the dirt and raced towards the group. As both attacks cornered in on their opponents, multiple pillars appeared from the ground around them and collided on them. The force knocked the Aipom to the ground as a group, as a rainbow appeared around them. But Laram wasn't finished.
"Baldur, use Surf. Then Thor, Discharge."Laram's next two Pokemon nodded and went to work. Baldur waved his ear arms in a flowing fashion around him and water appeared from the ground, swirling. Once he accumulated enough, he launched it, engulfing the horde of Pokemon in front of them. As he did, Thor swung his arms viciously, charging up the electricity within his body. Once the Aipom were soaked, he loosed the stored energy, making sure it came in contact with the water. This electrocuted the monkeys, simultaneously paralyzing them at the same time. It was a huge blow, but the trainer wanted to be sure."Thorn. Use Leech Seed. Tie them up."The green simian nodded and touched each Aipom on its' chest. As he did, green vines wrapped around the primates until all of them were bound, and incapable of movement. It was enough, they were defeated. But Laram knew that they were in danger out in the open. He approached the group tentatively. He wanted to help, but didn't want to get attacked again. They were obviously furious, but unable to wriggle free from their restraints. Good. Laram carefully picked two of them up and placed them by a nearby tree, making sure not to get bitten or loose their bonds. Baldur helped by grabbing two himself, and the trainer moved the remaining two."That was crazy! Where'd you learn to do that?" [colo=grey]Laram shrugged. "An old trainer taught me about Pokemon battles. Being a ranger taught me the rest. We should get going before they get loose. They're not exactly happy."As if on cue, one of the Aipom screamed at the trainers as loud as it could. Michael and Laram nodded to each other and pressed on to King Town.

It might have been more comfortable to spend the night in King Town instead of roughing it outdoors, but Regal was glad that he had made the decision to press on. He had managed to cover a decent amount of ground before the sun began to set and, with his team's help, he had managed to get camp set up in record time. Nova gave him a hand in setting up a fire as well, and now the trainer was getting down to making the group some dinner. He had bought some prepackaged curry at the Pokémart that seemed easy enough to make, and he knew how to prepare rice as well. With Jarvis shooting him instructions through his Pokégear, the beginner cook also chopped up some precooked burger to throw into the curry to give it a bit more substance. The end result wasn't gourmet by any means, but Regal was still pretty satisfied with it.
"Not bad, right guys?"
The way his team tucked into their dinner told him everything he needed to know. Nova and Icarus seemed intent on licking their plates clean, and even Magnolia, who usually subsisted on honey and nectar, joined in for a few bites. Feeling all kinds of proud at his successful dinner, Regal started tidying up while his team finished off their meal before settling in for the night. It was too cloudy to make out any stars overhead, but other than that it was a perfect night for camping. Nova, Icarus and Magnolia were snoozing away in their Pokéballs shortly after dinner, but their trainer wasn't ready to sleep just yet.
"Steel-type Pokémon, on average, have the highest physical Defense among all Pokémon, fully evolved or otherwise. Only a little over seven percent of all Pokémon are steel types, making it the sixth rarest type overall. Common steel type attacks include..."
Since Regal knew that his first gym battle would be against a steel type specialist, he had asked Jarvis to help him compile some notes to aid him in preparing his team. It was still considered a relatively new typing, but enough steel type specialists had emerged over the years to make researching them a little easier. As he had noted when he first came upon the information in King Town, fire types like Nova were very effective against steel types. Training him up to handle a gym battle would need to be his first priority. Unfortunately, his Charmander was the ONLY member of his team suited to the match.
"Icarus doesn't have any moves that won't be resisted by the gym leader's Pokémon, and Magnolia is straight up weak to steel type attacks... Even you only have a handful of attacks to use against them, huh Jarvis?"
The first hurdle, it seemed, would be to find a way to overcome the steel typing's many resistances. That would be a job for tomorrow's Regal however, as it was high time for him to head to bed. He would need to be up early if he wanted to make good time tomorrow, after all. Hopefully he would come across some new Pokémon for his team to aid him in his match on the way to King Town. With that last thought, the trainer finally closed his eyes for the night, eager to start again fresh tomorrow.
