Reyna chuckled quietly at Amon's panicked state. Was he seriously wheezing? And she thought her reaction to Athan's magic was dreadful. This was downright hilarious. She idly wondered what he'd do if she were to cast a spell. It was his good fortune that she not was very good at spells to begin with.

"Yeah," she replied as she moved to lean against his side and kiss his cheek in a surprisingly sweet gesture to try and distract him, "Athan.. I dunno... something about his magic being so old and earthy makes me nauseous."

Her Shadow, however, was largely unaffected though he did feel her mild discomfort at all the magic floating about. "Come no now. All of you little ones," Mystic murmured in a sing song sort of voice. "Serut na, me'la Hanstha."

Athan's eyes widened slightly at the elder Fiend's last remark. "What did you just say?"

Mystic looked up at him through sleep fogged eyes. "What?" he queried in response.

"You just," Athan said slowly, eyes narrowed with suspicion.

'Spoke Athan's native language unknowingly,' Hawk quipped with a look of curiosity with his tail flicking to and fro, 'How very interesting.'

Athan was about to question both Fiends, but was distracted when one of the imps popped back out of the portal, jumped onto his shoulders, and then bounced its way back into Miranda's purse with a happy chirp.

"It likes you," Mystic told her simply.

Rhys took a breath forcing himself to relax, his wings bunching up behind him tightly as the portal appeared. "Whoa, so that's...pretty impressive...." murmuring his gaze went toward the portal. Seeing that things weren't all that dire he smiles to Miranda and moves to the side giving her and the imps more space. "We should make sure they all get home."

Moving up the boy tries to get a few of the imps to move forward toward the portal. "Tek, they belong home...let them go." Moving to crouch down next to the little tentacled shadow he watches Tek a moment knowing he can be pretty emotional at times and ready for an outburst of some sort. When Rhys flew over a few of the imps that had been hiding near Tek scattered, two of the gas filled ones darting toward the open front door in the confusion.

Tek blinked xyrs eyes all of them at once. Reaching up xe wipes xyrs eyes as if wiping away tears. I know you all need to go home but, We'll miss you so much! Tek hugged each imp that had been with him before letting them head to the portal a few still burping gasoline fumes. As the imps started to the portal one quite possibly the chubbiest of the imps, if that was even possible pulled back and hid near Tek's tail the soft sounds of it munching on the last few remaining m&ms the only sound to give it away.

=======================

Theirn muttered and stepped back, "Coal we need to get the ones out of the truck. Hold the door here," pushing the door open fully Theirn turned completely missing the gas filled imps that were darting out under foot, moving toward Amon and his cigar.

Got it, A touch of nervousness came to Coal's voice, things had been plenty lively as of late and it occurred to him he really hadn't seen anyone but Trivii and Nell since growing. He wondered if anyone knew about how that had gone. Twisting his tail a bit nervously Coal adjusted his glasses and pushed the thoughts away, there were other things to tend to after all.

Moving past Amon Theirn could feel his unease, "chew mint, it'll help take your mind off it." The werewolf offered a touch of a suggestion as he moved to the truck. "Going to be letting a bunch more of those things out," the cover on his truck moved from time to time as imps jumped up to hit the heavy cover. Reaching up Theirn pulled the edge of the cover up and dropped the back of the truck. Imps swarmed out of the back of the pick up, a low instinctual growl came from Theirn as he watched them.

“Not. Funny.” Amon remarked, when he noticed her amusement. Her attempt to distract him was much appreciated though, most welcome really, and he promptly took as an invitation to … somewhat more. Anything to take his mind off the mental image of those eerie green magical lights, really. His craving for a cig went all but forgotten as he went to return Reyna's kiss, gently reaching around her waist and lifting her up some. Screw those imps, screw magic. They could do whatever they wanted inside the shop. The fingers of his left gently ran along the small of her back, blissfully ignorant of the fact of what inevitably happened when Fire met Fire.

They were sending Sparks Flying.

Literally.

Small horns adorned the head of the small imp that darted over toward Amon, the portal was open but there was much too much to do here before it could go. It's attention went upward noting momentarily that there was fire near it. It puffed it's little chest out noting the light, how dare it attempt to ruin the imps perfect darkness. Darting over the imp intended to bite Amon, opening it's mouth before it had a chance, a rumbling in it's belly started. The gas from earlier really didn't agree with it and .... BURP!

Theirn hadn't stuck around as the two kissed, not really caring if his advice had fallen on deaf ears. Kicking away a few of the shadow imps that attempted to crawl up on him as he tried to corral them toward the shop a flicker of night in the darkness caught his eye. Theirn spun as the small flicker of light became a small explosion of fire.

The imp exploded as if it had been a molotov cocktail. Running briefly to smack into the two kissing.

The whole thing happened pretty quickly, Coal had been lazing at the door his gaze going around to the others in the room when the feeling of alarm rose from his guardian. Snapping his attention around the fiend moved back his mind voice crying out. FIRE!

Not really knowing what was going on yet, Tek's response to the cry came instinctively, Not me!

Miranda's eyes widened with surprise when the imp hopped back to her, clambering down her arm and returning to it's nest in her purse. She totally hadn't seen this coming. “D'aw, that is so sweet,” she cooed, reaching to gently scritch the creature's head, but stopping mid-movement when someone yelled "Fire!"

'Where?!' Rutie popped out of the back room, the 'improved' water kettle in his hands.

Somewhere close to the entrance Nephrite resisted the urge to sigh and facepalm, and instead chose to withdraw deeper into the shadows. Oh, she knew perfectly well where, and just who had been involved.

Athan dropped the subject of how it was Mystic held knowledge of his own native tongue at the shouts of there being a fire. He pressed a hand to his face, shaking his head as he headed towards the front of the shop.

"You have got to be kidding me," he muttered darkly as he flung open the door to assess the damage.

Reyna stood before him with a nervous sort of grin. "Oops," she said, laughter barely contained at the appalled look upon Athan's face as she carefully gathered up all the little flames with one hand and added them to a growing fire in her other.

He pinched the bridge of his nose, eyes closed. "Do... I want to know how this happened?"

"Eh," she said, "Probably not. But uh... one of those imps exploded? Heh heh..."

He slowly opened his eyes and glanced around. There were now at least fifty tinier versions of a single imp running around making maddening squeaky noises. Some of them were still on fire and were now rolling around in an attempt to put themselves out.

Mystic appeared in the doorway and pushed past Athan. "Why'd you burn them?" he asked accusingly before turning to Athan as a thought occurred to him: "You should probably watch the portal. I'll handle this."

Theirn pulled a thick wool blanket from the back of the truck, a brief roma curse on his lips. Taking the blanket he beats at the imps still on fire trying to beat down the flames muttering to himself as he does, "Te na khuchos perdal cho ushalin..."

Coal rolled his eyes, you do know no one but I can understand you.

I'm not talking to anyone right now anyways ~ there was a slight growl heard within the mind voice as Theirn replied.

Giving an exaggerated sigh Coal moved forward, with quick motions he started batting the mini shadow imps that were no longer on fire, toward the door of the shop. At least it was only one of them.

Inside, Cinder kept her eye on the door but didn't move to mess with the explosion her attention on the portal. Watching the imps jump in through the portal she stood tense, if the imps could go in...surely something could come back out after all.

The demoness certainly wasn't the only one to have trouble containing their amusement at the situation. At first Amon hadn't been able to do anything but stare utterly perplexed at the effects of the imp-explosion, and then quite fascinated by how easily Reyna gathered up the flames. Then there was Athan's expression and Reyna's innocent “oops” which almost cracked him up, and after Athan's question he had no choice but to turn around quickly, his shoulders shaking suspiciously as he broke into silent laughter. “It wasn't on purpose,” he apologized eventually. “One of the them downed some gasoline, I think.”

'I certainly don't see what's so funny about this,' Nephrite grumpily remarked inside his head. 'Stop embarrassing me.'

Soooo … creepy magicy lights first, and now there a portal as well? Amon most definitely wasn't going to head back inside until all of this was over and done with.

'Fire, where?!' Rutie repeated, and then – since Athan seemed to know – zoomed after the man, leaving a trail of glimmering sparkles in his wake. Confused, the fiend looked left and right. 'No fire …?' He certainly seemed a little disappointed, until he discovered the flames Reyna had been gathering in her hand. Had he been human, a huge grin would have appeared on his face. As it was, he slipped down his goggles, popped up right in front of Reyna to douse the flames with the contents of his kettle, though he certainly didn't bother with aiming exactly. 'Saved you!' the fiend cheerfully declared.

Miranda had a bit of a sinking feeling as Rutie zoomed past her like a sparkly whirlwind, especially when she recognized the electric kettle from the back room. She had a very distinct suspicion now just who might be to blame for blowing the fuses. She was deeply curious about what was going on outside, but first Reyna had gone out, and now Athan and Mystic too, and she felt that at least some of the shop's employees should remain inside to keep an eye on things. Not that she'd know what to do, should the portal go all wibbly-wobbly or something, so she felt rather relieved at least Hawk had chosen to remain inside.

Mystic carefully gathered up tiny imps the way Reyna had gathered flames. He glanced up with a look of concern as he felt a wave of rage emanate from her. Did Rutie seriously just douse her with water? At least not entirely.

"Thanks for that," she gritted out between clenched teeth at the sparkly Fiend.

"Ah... that's enough helping for now, little brother," Mystic told the other Shadow as he urged him back in doors.

Athan followed suit, uneasy with there being an opened portal in the middle of his shop. It didn't quite seem like a normal portal for traveling. "Where does this lead?" he asked with a wave of his hand.

"To the dark place between sleep and awake," Mystic replied.

'Welcome~!' Rutie cheerfully replied, completely oblivious to Reyna's anger, just as his guardian tended to be – usually until it was too late. Fortunately for him he was quickly ushered back inside, and thus out of the line of fire.
“Goodness.” Amon, said, shaking his head. He couldn't help but grin at Reyna's mishap. “I really can't decide who's worse, him or Miranda.” Though, to Rutie's excuse, that sparkly whirlwind of a fiend was still very young – Amon recalled all too well what a ditz Neprhite had been at that age. Very annoying, but at the same time sort of adorable in her innocense. Which made him wonder … just when had she stopped acting like that, and started to behave like a bratty teenager instead?
“I wonder,” he murmured after a little while, not addressing anyone in particular but rather thinking out loud. “If those imps and the fiends are connected?” So far, only a handful of guardians had shown up, but that didn't mean others weren't affected as well. And anyone not a guardian obviously wouldn't know to come here. Leaning against his car Amon lit himself another cigarette, before he started browsing the contact list of his phone. Bit too early still to actually make calls, but he could at least text Jasa and check the newsfeed.

"Both. Both are annoying," Reyna gritted out, anger still clearly written across her face. She wrenched out her hair and her clothes as best she could, and thought for a moment about heating herself to steam it dry, but with her luck she would have lost control and burnt her clothes away.

She sighed heavily and trudged her way back into the shop. There were still a few imps running about, but most seemed quite happy to launch themselves through the portal.

'Off you go,' Mystic murmured as he helped a particularly small imp jump up to the swirling portal.

Athan stood nearby, brow furrowed a bit more than usual. The fact that the elementals had been disturbed enough to come out of hiding and into the mortal realm was a great concern. What worried him most, however, was the open portal in his shop.

"Can you kindly hurry things up so we can close that portal?" Athan muttered darkly in Mystic's direction.

The elder fiend glanced to meet Athan's gaze and was about to reply when something launched itself out of the portal and into his arms. His eyes widened a bit as he glanced down at the creature that was intently climbing up his arm and shoulder to bury itself in his hair.

'Something was chasing it!' Mystic called, suddenly panicked, 'Help me close the portal!'

Athan strode forward without another word and began spell casting, the portal began shrinking rapidly, but something on the other side was trying to force it back open.

Athan managed to close the portal but not without a significant amount of effort that was typically not required for that sort of magic. He frowned, staring at the spot where the portal had been with his arms crossed. A low level spell of that nature should not have been difficult to close. Normally all it took was a wave of his hand.

"Any idea on what was chasing that?" he asked, pointing at the kitten-like thing that had nested in Mystic's hair.

The elder Fiend simply shook his head no with a wide-eyed look on his face. The little shadow imp purred and rubbed against his face, quickly distracting him from Athan's growing discontent.

"Try to refrain from opening any more of those portals," Athan instructed before sighing in exasperation as Mystic wandered off, engrossed in entertaining his newfound friend.
