House Guidelines
The creation of a noble House is a group endeavor that requires at least three interested participants at least one of which must have an oura’thir. This means three characters played by three different people must be members of the House at the outset (though more are welcome), and one of them, of course, must have an oura’ thir. It is most likely that the character with the oura’thir will be the head of the House.
You do not have to be part of an approved house to play a noble. Approved houses are intended to help players form in-character organizations- if you're playing the only noble character in a house full of NPC's that are never played outside of interactions with your approved character, there's no need to apply for approval for that.
Pre-existing, previously roleplayed characters can be used as a basis for starting a new House, as long as they are blood relations or related by marriage. New characters can also be used, or new and old characters in any combination. They must, however, be kin.
Houses set in Cissilith can only have females in their leadership. Male characters are welcome to join in roles appropriate for the city's culture, but cannot fulfill the three starting character requirement. Houses set in The City of Embers can have any configuration of genders among their three starting characters.
Houses must be willing to accept new members, but are allowed to vet profiles before they allow them into the House. However, Houses found to be unnecessarily exclusive will be disbanded.
There is no activity requirement for Houses once approved.
We recommend using a thread in the Plotting subforum to keep up with House business.
When you feel like your House concept is ready for approval, please fill out this form and post it in this thread:

Tribe Guidelines
The creation of a nomadic tribe is a group endeavor that requires at least three interested participants. This means three characters played by three different people must be members of the Tribe at the outset (though more are welcome).
You do not have to be part of an approved tribe to play a nomad. Approved tribes are intended to help players form in-character organizations- if you're playing the only nomad character in a tribe full of NPC's that are never played outside of interactions with your approved character, there's no need to apply for approval for that.
Pre-existing, previously roleplayed characters can be used as a basis for starting a new tribe, and they do not have to be relations. New characters can also be used, or new and old characters in any combination.
It is possible for characters previously played as part of a city or settlement to leave and join or start a tribe. It's rare, however, and will probably require a drastic occurrance in their life to cause this turn of events. If you wish to use such a character, be sure to explain this twist in their tale either in their own profile or the Tribe journal, if one exists.
Tribes must be willing to accept new members, but are allowed to vet profiles before they allow them into the House. However, Tribes found to be unnecessarily exclusive will be disbanded.
There is no activity requirement for Tribes once approved.
