If the shoe fits, wear it. Isn't that how the saying goes? Guess one wasn't in need much of having to fit into shoes if they never wear any. Silly analogy to have, shoes. Who needs shoes. Surely, she did not, so why she was evening bothering to reference that in her mind? She shook her head and padded quietly along one of the rivers and flicked her tufted ears slightly as her cool gaze looked across the area. Hmmm. She noted a bird trying to fish and she saw a pebble not to far away and tossed it into the water scattering any fish near by and disrupting the bird, causing it to squawk at her angrily and she snickered as she continued on her little path.
She paused to look down at her reflection and then turned away and continued away from the water. She accepted her looks, even if others around her seemed not to. Her parents certainly didn't look like her, which was odd, but it seemed this had been a recessive gene and she had been so blessed much to her parents embarrassment. It just gave her fuel to add to the fire when it came to getting into trouble or causing them to always cover for her. She didn't care what everyone else thought, so why should her parents care? Maybe it wasn't her they had ever been concerned about. She was a stranger to them it seemed and she liked to think she was better off for it.
She came to a spot near a tree and decided she'd sit down here for a moment. Looking around she planted her behind on a nice grassy spot and flopped down and peeked around to see if someone else might be nearby.

Hitsuka had just finished gnawing on a leg bone left over from a deer she had recently killed. The metallic taste of it's blood still lingering in the back of her throat encouraged her to continue lapping the marrow out until the bone was completely bare. It was a quiet afternoon with the sun shining high in the sky, the worse kind of day there ever was. Finally deciding she was done with the bone, Hitsuka kicked it aside causing it to hit a large stone and thunk with a deep hollow sound. Putting her ears back she looked up at the cheerful sky without a single cloud in sight. "ugh." She groaned as she closed her eyes to block out the light. "I hate nice days." She decided enough was enough and got up onto her feet for an excursion to find a more shady place to lay. The tree cover did cast a nice shadow but it simply wasn't enough for the undulcan which never seemed pleased.
Stepping onto a dirt path, Hitsuka made her way down to the edge of the forest, pacing herself for the hot sun was beating down on her dark fur and making her even more exhausted. The sound of a trickling stream caught her attention and the thought of a drink sounded even more pleasing to her. Releasing a sigh the dark ulaya turned her direction towards the sound and slowly picked her pace up a little bit. Flicking an ear with the irritation of the sun's persistence to stick around all day, Hitsuka began to lick her maw with an attempt to get the last of the meat out from between her teeth.
Finally reaching the stream she followed it until she was next to a rather large pool before deciding it was good enough for her. Laying down on her belly Hitsuka lowered her nose to the water's surface and began lapping up the cool liquid. The feel of it lowering her temperature with every swallow was pleasant as the sun's reflection danced around in front of her eyes causing her to squint. Suddenly a sound distracted her and she stopped drinking although she wasn't nearly done hydrating herself. Turning an ear back to listen better without moving her body at all the female undulcan focused all of her mind on listening for the sound once again. It was a familiar sound of another's breath, one she enjoyed for when there is a breath there is another potential meal just around a corner.
AstoriaFallen She was the most mild troublesome one I have for ya XD;

As she laid there beneath the shade of the tree she heard the sound of something nearby drinking from the water. She didn't get up to look because she figured if whatever it was, really was there, it would probably be curious enough to look this way and come find out if she was really there as well. Curiosity is such a wonderful thing, it allows one to be lazy at times and she was just wanting to be lazy at the moment. However, that didn't mean she wasn't going to be cautious. She had no idea what or who was nearby so she kept her ears and eyes in the direction of the water, which was just out of sight.
She wasn't hungry right now so if it was food, then it would be safe to live another day, however she wasn't against just killing something to save for later. She moved from her relaxed position into a more crouching one and felt her muscles twitch and tighten as if she was preparing herself for a leap. One couldn't be too careful, and knowing her she'd made some enemies along the way somewhere or another. She wasn't entirely one that, what was that saying? Played nice with others. She wasn't exactly a team sport and she would always find a way to make it a solo team. She felt like everyone else kinda slowed her down sometimes.
She smelled the air and it was kind of a mute point because there wasn't hardly a breeze at all. What's the point of having a fantastic nose if it only works when wind brought you smells? She crouched forward an inch or too and peeked her head over one of the tree roots that was next to her and peered down towards the water. She was sure if someone was over there they would almost definitely see her ears so she made sure to keep them flattened as far as she could get them against her skull and her eyes peeked over the gnarled root and she spotted the darker female near the water looking her way. Hmmm. How awkward this was going to be.
"Can I help you?" It wasn't entirely demanding, however, this had been her spot first, so to speak. Finders keepers right? She came up and sat atop the trees lifesource and stared down towards the darker girl. She had to give her props for looking pretty good with her colors and that narly looking star. If she had been gay she would probably have found her to be pretty darn attractive, but seeing as she was 95% sure she was straight looking pretty good was as much she was going to get from her. 7.5/10 so to speak. She blinked at the other awaiting for her to respond with either a verbal or physical response. Guess she should be prepared for her to possibly get pounced.Edit: June 22, 2015. smile
