The Defendants

The parents:
Retinadeath: Played by Geyser Eelborn. Your mother. Retinadeath's got a Freudian excuse and a lot of power--never a good combination. She considers similar colors to be very beautiful, and contrasting ones--like orange and blue, red and green--to be...unattractive. Ever since her first children, she's had a tradition of letting someone else deal with the "unattractive" children, probably out of shame. Usually this means being foisted off on the other parent. To children she is willing to deal with, she dotes on them, spends extra time with them, and generally is a decent mother. To the others...huh boy. Retinadeath is also the Death General of the Shadow Herd, second only to Queen Blodeweudd. She's a fighter, and she's always delighted when her children become fighters. To her grandchildren--all of her grandchildren, regardless of parentage or coloration, she's an enthusiastic grandma.
Plamen von Hoelle: Played by elfstar89 He's a manipulative, masochistic b*****d, and a sleaze to boot. He tends to take under his lack-of-wing the children that Retinadeath doesn't want to deal with. He likes to foster an environment of distrust and animosity in the people around him; he thrives on conflict. "Like Loki, but more masochistic." He's the Chaos Duke of Fire, and may or may not be angling to become a senior dark courtier.

The first batch:
Rafaella de la Tierra: Played by elfstar 89 Rafaella de la Tierra is Retinadeath and Plamen's eldest child, and a total sweetheart. As her name implies, she's an angel. This...didn't sit well with the family, but luckily for everyone involved, Feral lost her in a game of hide-and-seek when they were foals (an event for which he still feels guilty). She was found and raised by another mare, Aoibheann, and considers Aoibheann to be her real mother, not Retinadeath (whom she does still remember). She no longer lives with the Shadow Herd--they think she is dead.
Ambrosia: played by xxAps Ambrosia was Retinadeath's favorite biological child for a long time. Loyal to the herd and to her mother, the mother of several loyal children, and very pretty (red/orange) to boot, Retinadeath had always been fond of her eldest starborn daughter. Unfortunately, she's gone missing, and is now presumed dead. Retinadeath is devastated.
Calypso: played by pippi18848 Not much is known about Calypso, except that she was a blue/green starborn mare and that Retinadeath loved her very much, too. The family doesn't talk about her much. ((Translation: Pippi never left a journal behind, and I'm not in contact with her at the moment. So she's not active.))
Feral der Martertod: played by Geyser Eelborn The only one of your eldest siblings you're likely to ever interact with. He was raised by Plamen, but he doesn't like either one of his parents. He's cold, distant, apathetic, and antisocial. He might show you some affection, though--he's not totally heartless. Depends on his mood and how you present yourself. Dark courtier.

Half-siblings on Plamen's side:
Ketsueki and Nyomi: played by the_scowling_cat and Hoshi Lockhart respectively The children of Plamen and Kyouka Kuze; they live with other family, so you probably won't ever meet them.
Haruto: played by elfstar89 Haruto has always been sickly, but what he lacks in brawn, he makes up for in brain. He's a quiet, underhanded schemer. He respects Plamen and Retinadeath, but doesn't care for anybody in particular. He's the kind to do everything from the shadows, and if possible, get away with it while still looking helpless. Dark courtier.

Half-siblings on Retinadeath's side:
Anopticyte: played by Geyser Eelborn Like his older brother Feral before him, Anopticyte doesn't care for his parents (Retinadeath and his own father, Osteocyte). He does, however, care about his family, especially the members of it that Retinadeath doesn't like. Ani is sarcastic, insulting, and sardonic. Dark courtier.
Hypophosphotasia: played by Twitchapher the 3rd He was Retinadeath's favorite from her litter with Osteocyte.
Cranium: played by Ice_Dragon_Demon Cranium was Retinadeath's least favorite from the litter with Osteocyte, which is a pity because he wants to earn her respect so much. Cranium acts like a complete moron who can barely function in real life, constantly bumping his head against trees. Dark knight.
Tonestue: played by Geyser Eelborn Retinadeath's adopted daughter, slightly older than Osteocyte's litter. Retinadeath deliberately raised her more nurturingly and kindly than she's raised any other child before. This is because she hoped that Tony would grow up to be her nanny, taking care of her children so she could better concentrate on her job within the herd. To Tonestue's annoyance, this actually worked. Tonestue is likely to be a third parent to you in your childhood, and you will most likely be raised primarily by Tonestue or by Plamen. Tony is practicing to be a healer--she's currently a dark courtier.

Your litter:
Wolfbane: played by Kesmi Wolfbane is by far Retinadeath's favorite baby in the litter, mostly because he looks a lot like Ambrosia. She dotes on him. He intends to be her right-hoof stallion and go-to. Intends to be a dark knight.
Cataracta: played by Geyser Eelborn Retinadeath wasn't certain what to think of Cat at first, being slightly inclined to dislike her coloration, but she's since learned from watching her that Cataracta is a hellion and a future berserker, and as such is warm towards her. Cataracta is violent, easily angered, and very, very energetic. She's largely indifferent to the goals and plans of the herd. Intends to be a dark knight.
Hyperopia: played by elfstar89 She thrives on the fact that Mummy loves her. She's a mommy's girl. However, she does want to learn the art of manipulation from daddy dearest, which is more than slightly worrying... She doesn't plan to uproot anybody, but she plans to be there if something goes pear-shaped. Intends to be a dark knight.
Keratoconus: played by Ice_Dragon_Demon Keratoconus is Daddy's little sleaze. He may be Plamen's first child to actually like him and care about what he thinks.

Other important figures:
Loxosceles and Anand: played by Kesmi and Geyser Eelborn Lox is one of Ambrosia's daughters, and thus your niece. She's strong-willed and knows how to get what she wants. Anand is her mate, and a member of Retinadeath's army. He's paranoid, and will likely consider you to be a spy for his mistress.
Saltic: played by Geyser Eelborn Lox's half-brother, a nephew. He's a sycophant, always sucking up to Retinadeath in hopes of getting a position of power. He does seem to genuinely care about his family, though. He strives to be Feral's polar opposite. Cataracta thinks he's an idiot. A dark knight.
Blodeweudd: played by elfstar89 the Queen of the Shadow herd. Manipulative, violent, likes to play people against each other...especially Plamen and Retinadeath. Disloyalty to her is not tolerated.
