Should I try it? Its like 20$ at my gamestop.Ive heard mixed opinions. The real dealbreaker for me is the music. Since Akira is gone what should I do? I loved Shattered Memories, hated Homecoming and 3.

I loved Shattered Memories, hated Homecoming and 3. Honestly, I strongly recommend playing it. While I didn't necessarily hate Homecoming, I didn't find it quite scary enough. This was the first entry to really get me going full of adrenaline in a long time! The people who made this one, I think, at least knew what they were doing. If I could recommend something, you should look into Silent Hill 4. Either for the ps2 or buy it on PSN or something. That's always been my favorite SH game. Also, even though Akira didn't do the music for Downpour, there was still some amazing tracks! To be honest, I probably wouldn't have vouched for anyone to spend 60 bucks on it when it was new, but Downpour is definitely worth 20.

I love that game,so harshly judged. :/ And thanks! I went out and bought it and its pretty fun so far.

Not that I give it without full confidence, it's just sometimes people have different expectations in the long haul. And I am definitely excited to hear you enjoyed SH4 so much, and it is agreed that it was judged quite harshly. Personally, I was little upset it wasn't added in with the HD release (There's quite a few reasons I don't believe 2 and 3 should have been paired together. I think if they were only going to pair 2 games it should have either been Silent Hill 1 and 3 because of story connections, or Silent Hill 2 and 4 because of SH4 being loosely connected to an event in SH2.)

I feel like they need to release a SH4 and Origins HD Collection already. I know some didn't like Origins but I found it entertaining and one of the more terrifying ones. Mainly in part because weapons broke so easily. In short I really want trophy support for these games.

I personally didnt enjoy Origins on console, on psp it was a dream. But the time errors and length of it threw me off a bit. The soundtrack for it is gorgeous though

Arkham Knight Should I try it? Its like 20$ at my gamestop.Ive heard mixed opinions. The real dealbreaker for me is the music. Since Akira is gone what should I do? I loved Shattered Memories, hated Homecoming and 3. The music is a real downer. Yamaoka's sound design in all the other games is what makes the games truly terrifying. But if you haven't played Downpour yet, I think you should check it out. Some of the dialogue is pretty good with the new writers, your player character actually asks people in the town stuff you would say, like "I'm sick of these mind games. This is BS. I want outta here." And it has an interesting twist on the whole "why am I here?" discovery.

Slip a red piece of paper under the door...

I was never more scared by a game. I literally would panic when poltergeists were in my apartment. I mean, the apartment until it started getting haunted was your only refuge from the madness. Then you need magic candles... That game got my heart rate up and I LOVE it.

Oh yea, there's nothing quite like stripping someone of their security blanket (and I think games should do that more often.) You know, give a really great comfort to the player and take it away when it's really needed.... It would be like half way through a round of left for dead being stripped of your safe houses.

I mean, the real world wasn't very safe either, but when the town turned in the Otherworld nowhere felt safe... I'm running into that a lot now while playing Last of Us.
