"I probably can, until we find someone more skilled at it." She had helped Ishum often both before the fading and after, and Cerberus was well used to her. Some poor random animal handler was more likely to get eaten if one approached him thinking he was a normal dog.
"Oh, and they don't handle being apart from each other well. If one gets lost the other two start raising hell. It's like they're still one beast, just separated into three bodies.

"Only if it doesn't take you away from your other duties." She wouldn't want to step on Ankou's toes by stealing one of his servants. "I will come and visit him too. Do you know of any other inhabitants of the Underworld that are out in the mortal world? Charon perhaps?" She glanced past the beast to the passageway. They should take a look at the gateway whilst they were there was her other thought. She was also aware that she was making a lot demands on the poor cat woman.

"We should discuss it with him first." Though she did not see being a problem. By her nature, there was not much she could do to directly help him, sadly. Having no perception of the dead meant there was only so much she could do.
The mention of Charon made her wrinkle her nose in obvious distaste. "Heavens know where that rat is hiding now." Charon, or rather Poltros as he had last been named, was out at large and had been for a long time.

Val would smirk at that. "Not a fan then?" She said, taking a step towards the dark doorway where the third beast lurked. "Here puppy, we need to get by there." She turned her attention back to Jinx. "I will admit I did not have much to do with him. The ferry was the passage for the regular dead, not those that came into my realm and of course I had no need to enter Nergal's domain that way. I'm sure another could fill the role just as easily if he's distasteful."

"Should have simply left my lord to do the job and not bothered with the rotten b*****d." Honestly. It was actually nice not to have to hold back her tongue - she certainly would not have dared to say that in front of Nergal. She remembered vaguely a time where it was Ankou who ferried the dead - a bit of a peaceful trek in a never stopping whirlwind of activity.
"Never was, to be honest. He is an insufferable creature. He switches bodies every so often, because he can't keep himself together otherwise. He was not exactly... willing to take his position, so to speak. My lord used to be the one who did this, but this does not help the current problem much." Ankou had too much to do as it was, though technically he was, in fact, doing that job right now. "We can probably find someone who is much more agreeable, I reckon."
The dog near the gate barked in what seemed to be an odd sort of greeting, then padded over to the side as the goddess approached.

Val would have it no other way than people speaking their mind. She could not stand all the pomp and pussyfooting that went on among some of the other deities. "Well, good riddance then. Ankou of course would be the best suited but is too busy, the Valkyries perhaps." She mused as much to Jinx as to herself. The third dog padded out happily and made Val smile. "Good Puppy." She grinned, reaching out to pat the side of his massive neck. "Isidore has a grimm, a large black dog, I wonder if they have any relation to Cerberus." She wondered as she walked on past and into the darker passageway, at the end was the outline of a rather large gateway. It had been constructed of Adamantine and was designed to stand the test of time.

"You know..." Jinx hadn't really considered it. "If he's been wandering about ever since the realm broke down, well, it is... quite possible that he decided to have some fun." Might as well, right ?
Scim did resemble Cerberus a bit, now that she thought of it. the cat followed, and then the three halves of Cerberus did the same.

"Yes." Val said with a laugh, "I don't think any of us would begrudge him that." Interesting if he was, she might have to have Isidore bring the dog down to see if they might be right.
The gate was huge, larger than the god that guarded it. It was covered in grime and moss but underneath it was still possible to make out bits and pieces of the ornate decorations and the runes that kept it secure. She reached her hand out and placed it on the cold metal. She could feel the realm beyond, it was chaotic, fearful. There was no sense of her brother there, not that she could feel in her weakened form. She breathed in deeply and turned to face Jinx. "It's in one piece at least. And the runes seem to be holding."

"I certainly won't." She chuckled. The three halves of Cerberus had settled behind them, as if baring anyone else from following them. Which would have been a lot more useful if there had been anyone else with them, but oh well.
The cat watched the door carefully, trusting that the lady would not try anything too rash. She knew what was likely to happen if she crossed that threshold, after all. "That is good, at least." There was little she could have done if one of those things had been lacking.

Oh it was so tempting, she was so close and it called to her, they called to her. It wouldn't take much to give in to open the door, she was sure the power was inside her. Though she also knew that would be it, Alva's body would not survive in the Underworld and she would be back to square one, a stone with no hope. She blinked and stepped back from the door. "Right, well, Good job Cerberus. I trust you to keep up the good work." she said as she snapped out of the trance of the door. "Thank you Jinx."

"Shall we return now, my lady ?" The cat asked. It seemed like they were done here, after all.

"Yes, the others will wonder where we have disappeared to." She reached out to pet each of the three dogs and turned to head for the exit.
