I am, to be honest, a compulsive paperwork-keeper. It comes of being an Ootori. But I'm not entirely sure I need to be so for the Host Club, at least in terms of initial guild setup and so forth.
Would people prefer if we archived old suggestions and unused threads in an Archive forum, or simply delete them when they are no longer relevant? At what point should we consider them no longer relevant?

Well I’d say that depends on the thread for archiving and deleting. If it’s something users would still want to look at then archive, if not then delete.
As to when to do so, I’d say a month without activity sounds about right

I think archiving obsolete threads is a good idea, rather than deleting them right away. Y'never know, right? Could always delete stuff from the archives if it's decided they're really unneeded. Kinda like a recycling bin.
I think about 3-weeks/a month of inactivity in a thread sounds good too.

An idea would be to archive them, but how about having a subforum area just for guild member suggestions? yum_puddi That way old suggestion threads will sink to the bottom while newer suggestion threads will go to the top. If there's anything official, those can go to a stickied suggestion and then released when it's run its course? yum_puddi Is that even possible? To unsticky something
EDIT Basically this means leaving the OOC area uncluttered and left for chat

And yes, I rather like that idea, if people will check the other forums. I'm not sure how much people do ... I have this rather empty music room that no one seems to be using, even at invitation to do so.

That does make it hard huh, lack of using the subforums... but folk giving suggestions would check suggestion subforums, right? eek
I personally don't use the music room because I don't have any use for it. Main thread's fine, and I don't need one to one time - not that you're no longer hot, of course. Not sure about the others though...

Not sure about the others though... *chuckles softly* Honestly, the point of having MR3 is mostly to make it easier on the hosts. I'm always afraid I'll accidentally forget to answer someone, or simply miss a post that was directed at me if someone else forgets to quote. People seem to take it very hard if one of the hosts misses them, and that's the last thing we want to do. But if you look at it from my perspective, I'm usually talking with at least three or four people at a time in the main thread, if not more. It can be very difficult to keep track of everyone. Sometimes, it is also very hard to do more than greet them and offer them something to eat and drink before my time is up -- because I'm doing that for three or four other people too, at the same time. Also, if people used it when they wanted some private time with me, I'd be able to absolutely ensure that they got thorough, thoughtful responses that weren't pressured by needing to respond to other people at the same time. It would be good for people who want more-dense roleplay than what the main thread provides, or who don't want to be rushed by the pace of the main thread.

Yeah, I can see that. Basically if you were to get them one to one together, you could type a longer response for them huh? Even if it takes a longer time. There's at least a time warp there. Kinda like the twilight zone but with more sparkles and glasses and half dressed men. emotion_0A0 Omg.
Problem is people seem to want fast paced host responses in the main thread where they get to check back and everyone can see. whee I'm fine if I don't get quoted but you're right, some people take it really hard. Especially since you wear glasses. I tell you Tamaki should've hired two glasses guys cuz chicks love glasses guys
Also, if it's hard for you to reply to my looooooooooooong PMs, feel free to not reply to them yum_puddi I have them blocked by default anyway, so I don't mind or take offense, not used to getting messages anyway. I'm chatty, but I don't always need attn
WAIT
I lied
I needz attn. emo I threaten you now to Shizu-chan up the thread if I don't get attnz
or I'll Kida everyone for attnz *likes to talk like a rocket*

I like your long PMs, they're thoughtful and useful. I want to be sure I respond in kind, so I've been taking my time with them. And as far as I'm concerned, you're welcome to bring Shizuo or Kida to the thread any time you'd like. *nods*
