ok from a different guild i am in, for the chat room and captains house,
as you can see the captain put these buttons on the guild home page and then we can open the guild chat or go to his house in a different tab instead of opening in the same tab
if you click on go to chat room at least with some browsers despite how you set things it still opens in the same tab
this solves the problems for that plus puts a recognized place to go to the guild chat room and the captains house, i think it might be a good idea for this guild to try

See, when I want to open something in a new tab I just right-click and select "Open link in new tab." I don't even worry about whether or not it will open in my current tab or not. It's a habit I've had for years...

i think you may have a bad link there

and i still think something on the home page would be better, especially if you have the proper code
