The shiny red Demon coin, wherever it may have been put, starts to grow warm, and the demon insignia slowly starts to glow. This goes on for a few days, the glow gradually burning brighter.

When you pick the coin up, it has become too hot to touch, and it burns the palm of your hand. It has left behind a burn in the shape of an undecipherable rune; not the demon insignia.

On the fifth day, the demon insignia is gone, burned away and there is now dark smoke emitting from the glowing hole in the center of the coin. It almost seems as if the coin is burning from the inside out.

In an unexpected flash, the coin burns up in white-hot flames, leaving a thick, opaque, and dark smoke lingering. The smoke swirls and slowly forms a Pae-like shape. Three glowing eyes stare back at you.

Quick and so fast that it can't be seen, something lashes out from the smoke, striking your abdomen. It sears with pain, but only for as long as it takes to notice there is no mark. Instead, within the smoke, red glowing claw marks appear.

What have you summoned?

The growing warmth from the little coin had been welcome at first. Tanyth had delighted in the discovery of this portable heater, keeping it tucked away out of sight within the bosom of her bodice.

There was a difference between 'warm' and 'hot', however.

When the little disc had started crossing from one to the other, she had removed it in a hurry, setting it aside to study. The next time she tried to pick it up, she did so with a curse, flinging it across the room. "Blasted coin!" she hissed, shaking her burnt hand in the air to cool it, while glaring death at the red coin on the floor. It had hit the wall and fallen. It could just lay there for all she cared.

The days passed and Tanyth mostly kept her distance from the coin. Once or twice she tried to use another object (a fork, a couple of spoons, even a fireplace poker) to move the coin. All she ended up doing was shoving it in the corner out of the way so she wouldn't step on it and burn herself again. One of these days, she told herself, she'd have to get rid of the damn thing.

Apparently, she waited too long for that. She had just been noting that her hand had healed, the strange symbol that had burned there was fading away. Perhaps she should have been more concerned about that, but she hadn't compared the symbol on her hand to the one on the coin previously. She just assumed that it had burned her and that was that. But, when the stupid coin started filling the room with smoke...now, she had a problem.

"Now the accursed thing is on fire?!?" she snapped in disbelief. The shiny red surface had, at first, made her think it was some type of jewel, but study had shown it to be a metal coin instead. But could metal burn? It certainly was now...

She was just on her way to get a pail of water to douse the thing when the room was lit by a sudden, blinding flash. Instinct had her arm shielding her eyes from the light, but it was soon swallowed by the dark smoke. When she turned back to the fiery coin, she instead met the gaze of three glowing eyes staring back from within the smoke.

Searing pain ripped through her stomach and she doubled over, half in shock. She'd perceived no threat before the attack; now it was as if instinct kicked into high gear. She had wrapped her arms around her injured middle section, now slowly moving them to see the damage. Her bodice had been torn to shreds...but despite the earlier pain, there wasn't a mark on her skin.

Pain and confusion fueled aggression, and she turned a hate-filled glare on the glowing eyes and claw marks in the smoke, the only thing she could see to focus on. She hissed in warning, fangs bared and arms raising before her, while her tail lashed sharply from side to side.

"Oh, now you've done it..."

The claw marks in the smoke glowed brighter as the smoke faded away to reveal a tall, furry Pae'il with wild hair and a very long tail. The source of the scratch was obvious when you catch a glimpse of the claws on this gal.

She quickly grabs your burned hand, and puts it flat against the bleeding claw marks. (This completes the bonding.)

"You summoned me?"

Tanyth hissed, pulling back her hand as it came in contact with the other's blood. "Did I? I don't recall doing such a thing. However, I'll be happy to send you back to wherever you came from," she spat back, still hissing. Preferably in tiny little pieces... She shook her hand as if she'd touched something disgusting. Not that blood bothered her; only the act of being grabbed by this thing had her scales crawling at the moment.

The furry creature answered the threats with an amused chuckle. "Oh, it was you, alright," she answered breathily, narrowing her eyes at the snake-like demon. "This proves it." She gestured lightly towards the bleeding claw marks on her torso; it took Tanyth a second to realize that the marks had appeared on the same place on the striped feline as where the pain still echoed on her stomach. Further explanation was not offered, however, as the creature merely grinned at her with oversized canine teeth.

More like fangs.

Kinda' like Tanyth's.

"Besides, what if I don't wanna' go back?" the creature purred, tail twitching. She flexed her claws in a threatening manner, unwilling to explain there was little she could do directly towards the winged female. Her stuff, however... "Now, how about we calm down like rational Pae? Be a shame to make a mess of this nice place you have here..."

Irritation rising, Tanyth burst out angrily, "You attacked me, you psychotic cat!"

Adopting a pout, the feline blinked wide eyes at the other in the picture of innocence. "You summoned me. I had no idea where I was or who had brought me here. You could have been a bad, mean, horrible person!"

Oh...this was going to be fun.

Fury barely contained, Tanyth let a soft hiss escape between clenched teeth. There was an intruder in her house, who had attempted to attack her, and was now mocking her! "What in Guardians' name ARE you?!?" she snapped at last, breaking the tense silence between them.

The innocent pout gave way to a more honest, confused blinking stare. "Tha' what now?" The feline's large emerald eyes blinked back...all three of them...causing the snake-like demon's eyes to flicker up towards the third in some obvious surprise. Apparently, she'd just noticed. Heh...oh yes, this would be fun after all.

In a nonchalant manner, the feline straightened up and looked at the claws on one hand, then paused to buff them on the fur of her opposite arm. "Come now, darling, calm yourself. No need to get your fur all--" she paused, looking the other over with a smile and a shake of her head. "Err...scales all...rustled?" She giggled into her hand, taking a step, then another to slowly circle the serpent, well out of striking range. "You never know. We could end up being the best of friends!"

"I doubt it," Tanyth snapped back immediately, recoiling as the creature tried to move closer. Ugh...stupid thing in her house. And besides... "What's all this about 'summoning'? Are you telling me I 'asked' you to come here? Why in bloody hell would I do that?"

Ravana's eyes narrowed, her jovial tone waning somewhat. "You're the one who summoned me here. How the heck would I know why?" She shrugged, then started looking around the room. Not that she really wanted to play buddy-buddy with the weirdo local, but she really needed to figure out where the heck she was and how she got here. And the winged snake seemed easily provoked.

The interior furnishings were a bit odd, but the feline could tell they were of good quality. This land had strange fashion tastes, but luxury was luxury no matter where you were, right? Though she was still somewhat unsure of where she was and how she'd gotten here, she had to admit, she could picture much worse places to be teleported to. Maybe she could snag a few things, clean this place out, and head back home with her new treasures...somehow. "Well, it's been fun and all, but I got places to be, lady!" she replied in a chipper, sing-song voice, striding gracefully towards the door. If this lady had all this nice stuff, then what might others have? And besides, she'd just learned she couldn't hurt this one if she decided to try stop her, but what about others? Oh, this could turn out to be simply delightful!

Tanyth was nearly speechless with rage. The nerve of this crazed cat lady! To imply that she had willfully brought such a thing into her home? Ugh. Even worse than the obnoxious commentary, the way she just flippantly dismissed her and took off caused the demon to see red. At first, she would have been content to get the cat out of her house, but now...now she didn't want her getting off nearly so easily.

The feline had already slipped out of the room, through the entry hall, and out the door. Like some...thing like that needed to be loose on the City streets! Perhaps some guard would catch her and have her locked away; that was a pleasant thought. But, before that happened, Tanyth was going to give her a piece of her mind. "Get back here, you insufferable nuisance!"

Not that she expected that to work.

Glittering eyes darted to take in everything there was to see as quickly and efficiently as possible. What a marvelous place! So unlike those back home. Yes, perhaps this was a good thing that happened. She could get her claws on some nice things, find a place to crash...yes, this could all work out very nicely.

Then, she came to a sudden stop mid-stride. What the...?!?

Without any conscious action of her own, her paws had turned her around to head back to the snake lady's place, the woman herself standing in the doorway looking peeved. She couldn't stop herself from moving into the shadows at the side of the street, swiftly reappearing back at Tanyth's doorway in the darkness. "What the hell? I did NOT want to do that..." she snarled, forgetting that the snake was right there listening.

Tanyth shielded her surprise from showing on her face, focusing instead on continuing to glare at the cat. She hadn't wanted to do that? What? Come back? ...when called? Hmm...if she'd somehow called this cat thing here...and if she'd responded to being called back to the house...

One more test. Moving back inside her home and leaving the door open, Tanyth snapped, "Get back in here before someone in the City sees you standing in the street looking lost." To her infinite glee, the cat obeyed, glaring daggers at her all the while.

Oh, this could be interesting after all, she thought, a wicked grin creeping onto her face.

She did not like that look the snake was giving her. Dammit, seemed this rich new land wasn't without a cost of some sort. If she could just figure out the rules to what was going on here, maybe she could find a loophole to take advantage of them. "Alright, I'm here. Now what the hell do you want?"

"Well, if you're going to be here anyway, I've got some things that need done. The hall needs swept, the living room needs dusted, and when you're done with that--"

"I am NOT your damn servant! You can just shred those thoughts right now and shove them way up that scaly a** of yours!"

Eyes narrowing to tiny slits, the snake demon hissed under her breath. "You'll learn some respect too. Watch your filthy mouth. Clearly I'm in charge here and what I say goes."

Without hesitation, Ravana reached out and shoved what looked like some kind of expensive ceramic art thing off the entry way table and onto the floor where it broke. "Let's get something straight, prissy pants. You might be able to summon me if I'm stuck with you or whatever, but that's it. You can't make me do s**t," she bluffed. She actually had no idea how this worked yet. "Clearly, you're not as in charge as you think you are."

Neither woman wavered in their glaring, both tails lashing in obvious anger. After a moment, Tanyth managed a civil sounding reply, through clenched teeth, "Perhaps...we'll have to come to some compromise then."
