Oh. Photography. We haven't done one of these in forever.

So, it's cold. That means it's winter. Unless you're in one of those weird places of the world where it's summer right now. Anyway! Everybody's got one of those fancy picture-capture devices by now, right? Take a snapshot of something that really says "winter" to you. Cold could say winter. Holidays could say winter. Just about anything could say winter so you really have no excuse to do nothing. So hop to it! Entrance fee is 500g, payable directly via trade to me.

Question about this contest.

I'm aware that we can't take any picture off the internet. That the picture must be original from our cameras.

However, I'm curious if photo editing is allowed or not (aka: Cropping, resizing, brightness, contrast, etc.). I don't know if that's cheating or not because it makes it sounds like we're trying to make the pictures look awesome when adding "special effect." However, I don't know if there are some that you are okay with such as cropping out the extra stuff that isn't necessary or use brightness to make the lighting look better.

So is photo editing allowed or not?

I'm aware that previous contests have been pretty iffy about this. However, I'm of the firm belief that perfect pictures don't always happen right from the camera. In fact, they rarely do. Professionals often take advantage of alteration techniques to enhance a photo, too. So I'm going to grant permission to crop, adjust brightness and contrast, and adjust levels. I'm not allowing any special effects or outright photomanipulation. This contest is still about the spirit of the photo, and I don't believe it's going to sway anybody's vote if the details of your picture are just a bit clearer.
