For me it was Solitude Aeturnus when I was five or so years old. They're a doom Metal band from Arlington, TX. My mom has been friends with guitarist John Perez since high school, and he would give me the tapes. I'd wear those ******** out!

Volvy There were a few, but the biggest one was In Flames. Hell, yeah! Their newer stuff just doesn't interest me, but songs like Leeches, Come Clarity, and Take This Life are great!

See, I actually consider Come Clarity to be part of their "newer stuff" since was the 8th of their 10 studio albums so far. Still, I really like it. The past couple I'd agree are not too interesting.

I got introduced to metal through punk music. There used to be a comic shop in my city that used it's gaming room as a concert venue on weekend nights. I used to only go on Fridays, when booked punk and emo bands, but a friend of mine convinced me to go on a Saturday, when they played metal. I really liked what I was hearing, so I started borrowing CD's from friends. I remember getting into Kitty and Cradle of Filth. I don't really listen to either of them anymore, but they opened the door for a continuing love of metal

I went from Korn, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit to Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth in some transition I don't even remember. Rebellious teen years maybe?
