Disney's Frozen.
On one hand, everything good about Disney was there in spades. Good story, likable characters, twists, turns, suspense, I love it.


On the other hand, everything bad about Disney was there in spades. Completely useless sidekicks that turn what was obviously meant to be quite dramatic into something goofy and moronic never letting the weight be more than a couple pounds until the climax. Cheesy as crap songs that also seem to serve as little more than mood lightener. They go away halfway through, and it's beautiful when they're just gone, but the pointless singing makes the first half kind of painful, and once they leave you have the damn snowman to replace them.

Their looking at love, abandonment, fear, greed, and isolation are all very poignant thoughts.
On the other hand, they were marketing it to children so they basically beat you over the head with it.
There was a great deal of danger at multiple points.
But nobody died. Ever. Like seriously, the fact that Disney doesn't kill people detracted so much from this one because you never have any doubt about what's going to happen.
The villain was the best possible evil person ever, playing to the cast's naivete and guilt like a violin. And how the plot formed around her, she wasn't even all that necessary, as the situation was inherently bad to a point where there would be adequate conflict even if she wasn't such an b***h. But her presence actually makes the world more interesting.
But she did the Bond villain thing where she explains everything for literally no reason. I'm assuming because children wouldn't catch it otherwise.



The movie was deep, heartfelt, and oh so amazing.
But you can tell it's made for children and it detracts so goddamn much.
They took what I believe may be one of my favorite stories ever and made it just that little bit worse than it could be.

I hate children.
They ruin movies.

A Divine topic would never be so simple!

I need to watch it for the third time. heart
