With the downtime he's been given, Mason has taken to exploring Metropolis considering he is still fairly new to the city. His adventurous and curious nature draws him to all sorts of places and perhaps a bit of his old lifestyle is creeping back in as he finds himself frequenting upscale bars as of late. It is in one such bar that he meets an alluring and mysterious stranger. And there may be more to her than meets the eye...

An ordinary life for a siren was to travel endlessly while seducing the hearts of men with her song. One could liken the romani girl to said mythical creatures. As she sat at home perfecting her look, from her form fitting dress to her cream colored heels, with only one thing on her mind; who her lover would be tonight. Some would say it was wrong to tug at the heartstrings of a man, but Isis would claim otherwise. They were frail creatures deep down past their masculine exteriors. A girl like Isis took pleasure in exploiting that weakness when it meant showing them not to do the same thing to a woman. Or better yet, put them on equal playing fields when it came to matters of the heart. Two wrongs don't make it right, but they do for a night.

The siren was now on the prowl...

Isis only had a few nights where she could go out and have a little fun. You know, when she wasn't trying to be a hero. This was one of those lucky nights, and a perfect one at that. The night air was still, traffic was surprisingly tame, and her favorite upscale bar was open. Even she had to smile at the beauty of her new home here in Metropolis. She supposed it was a sign that tonight would be one to remember. Maybe she would find a new boy toy? Or even an actual charmer who was able to keep up with her wit. 'If only I could be that lucky~' The gypsy thought to herself as she made her way to the front entrance of the bar. It's glamorous neon lit name and piano music greeted her as she entered the hotspot. Her eyes roamed around the room to find a good seat at the bar as she sashayed through. People were on the dance floor with their companions while others were taking it easy like herself at the bar. She wasn't sitting down because she couldn't dance. She loved dancing to be honest, but she was still waiting for the right partner. The thought to go find one crossed her mind as she claimed her seat at the center of the bar. There was still two seats on either side of her, so she had plenty of wiggle room. Plus the bartender's attention would be hers for a little. "One Cosmopolitan; no ice." Isis beckoned to the man working the bar tonight. Her drink was fixed in a timely manner and she paid accordingly. Of course she hoped the bartender was prepared to make a slew of those delicious drinks later on. Happy with her purchase, Isis brought the glass to her lips and savored the taste of her cosmo.

"Hey there baby are you from Iraq? Cause I want you to Baghdad a** up. Let's say you and I get out of here; go to my place?!"

And the games finally began. She wasn't expecting to garner such immediate attention. Unfortunately, it wasn't the attention she wanted. The man who was speaking to her reeked of alcohol, which wasn't sexy. Like most pigs at this bar he only wanted one thing. Too bad she wasn't about to drop her panties so easily. But since the only thing he tried was an awful pick up line, she decided to let him down easy. "Not interested." Or bluntly.

"Come on, I'm sure I can show you a good time." The man reached his hand out and caressed her shoulder. It was a shame that he didn't even realize that a beating was coming his way. "I could just slip this off..." He tugged at her shoulder sleeve, threatening to slip it off.

Isis aggressively latched onto his hand and pressed her thumb deep into his palm before twisting his wrist. The man let out a gasp of agony, clearly shocked by her sudden movements. "Don't do that, don't do that." Isis growled. She'd be damned before she let a man place his hands on her like that without her permission. "It would be a shame if I accidentally snapped your wrist, hm?! Get lost." Isis released his hand and watched as he sped out of the bar rubbing it. He couldn't leave fast enough it seemed. Thanks to him she probably seemed about ten times scarier to any potential suitors. Great. Isis pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance. 'Typical night out my a**.' She thought as she waved the bartender over for another cosmo. One charmer, one real man, was that too much to ask for?

With the little break he'd been given from his crime fighting, and his failure to actually begin job hunting, Mason found himself with the freedom to do as he pleased. For how long was anybody's guess, but he was going to have some fun while he could. He had started exploring the city, checking out the cafes, stores, and so on. Needless to say, after the sun went down the vibe and venues of the area changed drastically. And how was he supposed to get to know the town if he didn't spend some time in the bars and clubs? He'd put in a considerable amount of time as a bar hopper in his past, however not always in a very dignified manner.

So far he had been evaluating the dives and less... sophisticated of night life venues. Tonight he was taking the jump to the more dignified crowd. Albeit a little more pricey. And with a dress code. But here he was, in one of the (maybe) four suits he actually owned - and he wasn't even sure they all still fit. The cab driver that had happened to be in the cab he'd waved down had suggested Ekko Bar. He was going to trust the guy, he probably knew the hot spots pretty well. Definitely better than Mason himself.

As he walked through the door he was nearly bulldozed by some guy that was running out of the place like he was on fire, muttering something about an evil b***h. He didn't think much of it though and continued into the establishment. Really, guys tended to blame women for their failed attempts to charm their pants of when generally speaking it was entirely because they were an off-putting jackass. After making the switch to upscale bars he'd thought that the patrons would have a little class. Even he could pull that much off. However, it seemed there was no escaping those types.

It didn't take him long to forget about it though, and find himself a seat at the bar. "Scotch, on the rocks." he told the bartender. As he waited for his drink, he took a moment to take in his surroundings. He almost felt out of place in such an elegant atmosphere but he always managed to find his place in whatever setting he found himself in. He took a few moments before to scope out the decor before he even acknowledged the woman sitting next to him. She was cute, and what was the fun in going to a bar if he wasn't going to talk to pretty ladies? He usually didn't see them again, but they made good company for the night - some more than others.

"Come here often?" He grinned as soon as it came out of his mouth. So he couldn't help himself. It was a disease and there was no sure for it. People who had known him for any amount of time would know well enough that he liked to give people a hard time. "Sorry," he quickly tried to save it before she simply blew him off "That's a legitimate question. I just moved to Metropolis and I'm still trying to figure out where I should be spending my time." He took a dainty sip of the drink that had been set in front of him, always a little apprehensive about the first drink. Not to mention it had been a while since he'd had anything hard. Normally beer was his beverage of choice, but in a fancy place like this he felt the need to drink something more gentlemanly.

Isis shook her head in discontent at the prospect of her night. So far success had slipped from her grasp like a slithering snake. No wholesome men in sight, or none interested in her. Maybe she was losing her touch? Her brows furrowed at the thought. Isis patted down her body as if the reason would show itself by doing that. She felt beautiful tonight, but that could just be her hormones playing tricks on her. Then again if you felt good, you essentially look good towards others. So why was she not tugging at any hearts tonight? Isis looked around at the men left in the bar. Some were drinking themselves into as silent coma and others were just not her type. 'That's what happens when you set your standards to high, unfortunately.' Isis allowed a sigh to pass her lips before taking another sip of her cosmo. At least her drink was here to keep her company.

A few moments passed before another patron entered the bar and ordered a Scotch. Isis smirked as her eyes cut over to the male. "You know the ice in your drink is meant to cheat you out of what you paid for, right?!" She nodded to the bartender as if trying to make him admit to the deception. The more ice in your drink, the less alcohol you actually received. But to each one his own. Isis ordered another cosmo just as the Scotch drinker began speaking. She raised an eyebrow ever so slightly when he started with the most overused pick up line in the book. She was prepared to chew into him, but that charming smile managed to save him from one of her sharp responses. It even enticed a half smile from the girl as her face relaxed. Maybe tonight wouldn't be so bad after all! The young man did manage to snag her attention without receiving a slap across the mouth, and was handsome to boot; that was odd. She hadn't been this lucky since the last time she met a charming fellow, who ended up trying to kill her once they left the dinner table. The League of Assassins knew their seductress had a weak spot for a cute face. Isis tugged at her bottom lip in contemplation. The gypsy couldn't just assume every decent man was working for the League of Assassins and was out for her head. There was no harm in taking a chance, right?

"You should be spending it with me." Isis coyed. Although she couldn't be sure what his motives with her were, she was not gonna miss the opportunity to flirt with him. She winked at the male as she continued to drink her cosmo. The gypsy noticed how he was drinking his scotch and deducted that he wasn't used to hard alcohol. It was adorable to say the least. She made a mental note that she would need to buy them a round of shots later on. Another sip led to a little of her cosmo to trickle down from her lips and onto her exposed chest. Isis paused as if she was unsure of what to do. Then her right hand slowly lifted to her chest, fingertips slightly outstretched, and wiped the liquid from her bosom. "Better not waste this; drinks here are quite expensive." She brought her fingers to her lips and gently sucked the cosmo from her index finger. Her eyes held a sultry glint in them as she looked at the man in front of her once more. Feeling comfortable enough now, she decided to introduce herself. "You can call me Isis. What's your name, love?"Her voice was like a purr as she spoke to her new male company.

His attention was drawn to the woman beside him as he requested his drink. She seemed rather concerned with his financials, but wasn't that sort of the point of upscale bars? To spend too much money to get wasted? He may not have completely understood the concept. "You're not a scotch drinker I presume? A little water opens up the flavors - purists might say otherwise, but that's an entirely different argument. Plus, they count their pours and an 'on the rocks' pour is usually larger, hence the extra cost." he explained, giving the bartender a wave to allow him to go tend to his other costumers. He had this. It would have been rude to drag him into the middle of a debate. "And if I was really that worried about price I would be somewhere else right now." That wasn't to imply that he was rich, but he could afford to burn though some money every now and then. While he had meant to cut ties with his previous life years ago, he hadn't exactly... 'balanced his checkbook' yet.

A small smirk informed him that his cheesy pick-up line had been taken well. That he wasn't going to be running out of the bar in disgrace as the man he'd bumped into on the way in. "Oh? Is that so?" he mused at the woman's response. He had certainly chosen the right seat, especially if he should be spending his time with her as she'd informed. What would happen to him if he missed her and never was able to do what he was supposed to? Maybe he would spend the rest of his life in a hazy state of mind always feeling that something was missing. It was somewhat intriguing, he hadn't talked with any tactful flirts in the recent past - at least not in the bars he had been hopping. Occasionally he ran into one at the coffee shop or sightseeing, whatever he was up to. And the fact that she was making such a comment meant she at least didn't mind his company. People who wanted him to go away generally didn't make comments that he could take as an invitation to stick around.

"Looks like I've got it all figured out then," He commented "That must be what they call fate." And as if on queue, fate dribbled out of the woman's glass and off of her lip right onto her ample... bosom. He did put a lot of effort into not being crude but his eyes naturally followed movement and couldn't help following her hand as it wiped the drip from her bosom. When she explained that she didn't want to waste it drew the iron man's attention back to her face. "You're right, you really should be enjoying every last drop." The markup on alcohol certainly was outrageous. "I'm not sure why a pretty girl like you is doing buying her own drinks anyway. I would think there would be men fighting each other off to buy them for you." he pointed out, silently contemplating whether or not bringing it up and not buying her a drink came off as a good or bad thing. Either way though, he waited for a rebuttal first and foremost.

As she introduced herself he burned her name into his short term memory at least. "That's a unique name." he commented before revealing his own name. "I'm Mason." He accompanied his introduction with a charming grin before taking another sip of his drink. "So, what brings you here tonight?" He was curious. As always. Obviously she wanted to relax and have some cosmos, but maybe there was something more to it. He had other motives for sitting and drinking scotch than just to sit and drink scotch after all.

A smirk adorned her features as she enticed the response she wanted from the male. Men could be easily distracted by a female’s more supple features. Mason seemed to have been trying to avert his eyes but to no avail. “It’s alright to look, Mason.” Her purr was laced with sultry undertones. If fate was what had brought them together, then it would be fate that would keep them forever tied together. Of course Isis could easily figure that out herself from a simple touch. She had learned from past experiences though that reading someone’s palms on the first date was too much to handle. It would be a shame if her little encounter ended on a weird note.

                                                    Unfortunately, Mason’s words struck a chord…

She was flattered by his comment on her beauty, but dismayed by the realization of what it hid. A half smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she looked at Mason. “I’m not your average girl, if you haven’t already realized that.” Isis took a sip from her drink and swallowed hard. Maybe Mason couldn’t see past her exterior yet? That could be why he was speaking to her with such comfort. Most men would have already been intimidated by her witty rebuttals and sharp humor. It was refreshing to be honest. She didn’t want to rush her pounce on the prey in front of her for once. Instead she wanted to grant Mason control of this ship tonight, and let him steer them to where he wanted to go. Isis nodded to her empty glass as if she was taking him up on his subliminal offer.“I suppose that means you want to be the male showering me in drinks, hm?” Isis coyed.

Isis crossed her legs, allowing one to touch his. She playfully rubbed it across his leg as they continued to converse. “I was about to ask you the same thing Mason.” She laughed at his comment. Isis couldn’t say she wasn’t having a good time. She felt entangled in a game of wit, and Mason was constantly finding the upper hand. Yet somehow he managed to brush past her exterior with his questions. Isis moved her bangs behind her ear in contemplation. “When you’ve seen some of the things I have, a drink is the only thing that helps.” Although he wouldn’t know what she was referring to, he should get the point. The League of Assassins had managed to steal an innocence she once knew, and left her emotionally numb. She had seen individuals be murdered and tortured unjustly by the LoA. To make matters worse, the gypsy had assisted during her time with them. Isis was used to keeping her emotions to herself. Mason was making her want to change that, even if it was just for tonight.

“You wanna get out here tiger?” Isis’ chocolate orbs locked with his. It was as if she was pleading with him.

Mason always tried to be a gentleman, or at least not a total dog on the hunt for a lay. Women didn't seem to like those sorts of men, and their discomfort was clear enough when those sorts of men bothered them - they either couldn't take a hint or thought that persistence would win in the end. Of course sometimes it did - he'd proven it a time or two - though he also acted with more tact than the bottom dwellers. They didn't tend to be charming or good looking, maybe that was why they had to resort to lame pickup lines and stalkeresque behavior. It was only his take on it, but it seemed accurate to him. He was just glad people received him warmly. Most people anyway.

Despite his attempts though, his eyes had wandered to his company's assets. It took him by surprise when she told him it was 'alright to look,' it was possibly the first time he'd ever been given permission like that, to say the least. It intrigued him and rather than abusing his newly acquired permission, he found his stare boring into hers as he silently tried to figure her out. It was then that he commented on her looks and the fact that she hadn't had any company. She responded confidently that she wasn't average and he didn't doubt her words. It was nice to talk to someone with some self-esteem. Not a drunk, or someone fishing for compliments, or a stuck up b***h. "I was starting to realize that." How un-average was yet to be seen, but he was enjoying her company so it didn't much matter to him.

"I don't know about 'showering.'" He retorted "Drunk isn't the most attractive quality... It would ruin my image of you." What little image he had managed to piece together so far. There was something very mysterious about her and it drew him in. He wanted to solve her like a puzzle but not by getting her drunk. What was the fun in doing things the easy way?

The iron man continued to sip his drink as they spoke, taking his time as scotch wasn't something to be chugged. He questioned her reason for being in the bar, or drinking - whichever way she interpreted the question was fine - curiosity driving the conversation. He smiled when she mentioned wanting to ask him the same question and her laugh infected him enough to absently mirror it with his own little chuckle. Not to mention her playing footsie with him. It had been some time since he'd been given attention like this and it only drew him in more. He enjoyed it and the footsie was cute.

Her answer only made surface more questions as it implied she had seen some interesting things. "You know you can't say something like that and not elaborate." It was cruel, he wasn't going to let her tease him like that. "If I know what it is that makes you want to drink I might even want to donate to the cause and sponsor you for the rest of the night." Some people didn't like to talk about the things that haunted them, but she'd been the one to bring it up and maybe a bribe would get her to open up. He, of course, had no bad intentions. He was nothing if not curious and he loved a good story.

Soon she suggested 'getting out of here' to which he contemplated his answer for a moment. It seemed like an obvious decision but there was at least one important thing to take into account. In the end he realized that he was enjoying himself too much to let the night end here, however, and took a moment to finish off his drink before getting up on his feet. "I do actually," He held out a hand to help her off of the stool she was sitting on. In his experience it didn't really matter how comfortable women felt in heels, they still caused some problems and he wasn't going to let Isis trip over her own feet. "Where to?" He couldn't take her back to Watchtower, he was sure he would be scolded for that. But maybe she had another hot spot in mind, or she was going to take him home. They could always play it by ear as well, Mason had nowhere to be and if she was out drinking he doubted she did either. Wherever they went, he was sure they would have a good time. She seemed to be enjoying him just as much as he was her.

A gentle chuckle escaped her lips as she took Mason's hand. The seductress leaned in to his ear before speaking. "I'm sure I'll be able to elaborate once we're back at my place." Isis coyed. She could tell the man's curiosity was peaking, and that brought a smirk to her lips. Like her, he was used to getting what he wanted. Isis was more than willing to give it to him as well. With her hand still in his, she led him out of the bar and towards her home.

The duo walked down the city streets that was now lit up to enhance the night life of party goers like herself. Isis looked around at the various buildings that led to her apartment with a smile. She remembered when she first arrived here not too long ago. Isis can recall hating the city for not looking as picturesque as Mumbai did. The city itself though had grown with many architectural works being performed over the years. It was becoming like a home to Isis, slowly but surely. Isis wrapped her arms around Mason's arm as they continued walking. It was then that the girl realized how built he was. One would never have guessed he was muscular with his clothes on. The gypsy began to wonder how his physique was so well built. He didn't come across as the athletic type, or the typical gym rat. Maybe his line of work was the cause? "So, how does a guy like you end up living here?" Isis inquired. "Was it work? Or perhaps an X-lover, hm?!" She rubbed his shoulder playfully at her comment. He probably thought she was wrapped in enigma, but Mason was quite the mystery himself.

Isis was reminded that she could easily reveal any secret from him she wanted through a touch. Did she really want to risk that? What she saw could possibly dampen her good mood. Then again, it could save her life. While Mason pondered her question, Isis slowly locked her hand with his once more. Her goal was to see what would happen in his future. She kept in mind that it was the only thing she needed to know for now. Her eyes quickly fogged over and she was greeted by the imagery of her bedroom. Isis smiled to herself at the thought that Mason was going to get lucky tonight. The girl saw herself quickly jump from the bed as a blade struck the headboard. Isis tightened her grip on Mason's hand as the vision faded. So at least she knew he wasn't trying to kill her, but someone else was. She prayed that Mason wouldn't get hurt because of the mess she had gotten herself into. The future was ever changing, so maybe that event could be avoided all together?

Isis arrived at the elevator entrance to her studio apartment. "Let's go up, shall we?!" Isis punched in the number of her apartment as the elevator doors closed. The familiar ding was heard as they were dropped off on Isis's floor. Isis looked back at the elevator to see that it was going down again. Not suspicious at all. Isis kept her guard up as she unlocked her door and gently pulled Mason inside. She made sure to double lock her door before turning her attention to her new friend. "The bedroom's upstairs." Isis stated boldly before wrapping her arms around Mason's neck, and began to passionately kiss him.

This woman certainly knew how to leave Mason wanting more, hanging on each work like a fish on a line that she just wouldn't cut loose. She leaned in just to let him know that she would tell him back at her place. He couldn't help a small smirk tugging at his lips as he helped her off of her seat.

He let her lead the way - after all, he didn't know where they were going. She took his arm and he instinctively curled it up to wrap around hers, interlocking the two as they headed down the sidewalk. She questioned how he'd ended up in Metropolis and he took a moment to carefully consider his answer and how best to word it. "You could say it was for work, but I'm... between jobs at the moment." he answered thoughtfully, trying to downplay the fact that he was unemployed. "I just wanted a fresh start, to be truthful. And I can't deny it's nice to be across the country from past relationships," he added in response to her ex-lover inquiry, a light smile tugging at his features. "And what about you? Did you grow up here or did something else bring you to this lively city as well?" He turned the question around on her. Tit for tat, he didn't like spilling even vague explanations of his life without a little something in return. If she wanted him to talk, she would have to do so as well.

Isis took his hand again and the iron man didn't think much of it at first. Not until a moment later when her grip tightened. Blue eyes shifted to the small woman at his side curiously, but attentions were turned back to the journey at hand when they made it to her building and they loaded into the elevator. As they were let off she seemed to get... nervous? She looked back at the elevator and just seemed a little more alert than she had previously. He observed silently as he tried to piece this puzzle together, It didn't take much convincing to get him into her apartment. Even before she pulled him in he was pulled inside he was already moving to enter. She attentively locked the door and he finally had to ask. "Are you worried about something?" Probably just a habit she'd picked up, a young, single lady living alone did need to look over her shoulder and make sure to lock her doors. But she had him right now, and he definitely wouldn't stand idly by if someone tried to break in or something. He was a fit guy, and had been utilizing Watchtower's training facilities in his spare time to improve (or start learning anyway) some hand-to-hand skills. Not to mention he was likely the world's best human shield - not that he was about to tell her.

In response to his questioned she informed him that the bedroom was upstairs and then boldly leeched onto him. His hands found her waist to pull her in close as lips locked and more primal instincts began to kick in. What could he say? He hadn't come here to play chess... well, perhaps in a metaphorical sense. The bedroom was upstairs, but would they even make it that far? She certainly moved quickly. More so than most women he met, who liked to pretend they were far more chaste than the reality. Not that he was complaining either way - it was always fun to have a challenge after all. He tore away from her with a devious grin.

"Then let's move the party upstairs..." he countered as he took her by the hand and dragged her along behind as he made his way to the bedroom. It was easy enough to find without a guide. Once inside he took a moment to glance around at his new surroundings, his curiosity rising again as he loosened his tie. It was nice to dress nice sometimes, or when the venue called for it, but the more formal the attire the less comfortable. "Not bad," was his only comment on it before turning around to face Isis again. "So, do you invite a lot of men over?" he wasn't judging, just curious. After stripping his jacket off, he tossed it aside, one of his (now) much more maneuverable arms reached out to her. A hand tenderly found the back of her neck, fingers weaving into her hair as he leaned in to meet her lips again.

She had been moving quickly all night, he wasn't going to hinder her. And there was no need to beat around the bush as they were both smart enough to know what this was. He couldn't deny he was attracted to her, she was quite the undoubted beauty. And the mystery that seemed to engulf her was only that much more intriguing. It got his heart racing... among other occurrences. By this point the question he'd wanted answered had completely left his thoughts. Perhaps if he had the chance to ask later - and remembered - he would be able to bring it up again but for now his mind had become focused on one thing, and one thing only...

Isis savored the taste of scotch that lingered on Mason's lips as he kissed her. Their electric chemistry was definitely getting Isis hot and bothered. Mason wasn't quite like all the other guys. He made her happy by just being in her presence, and every time he touched her it was like a cage of butterflies had been unleashed in her stomach. Forgive the schoolgirl analogy, but it suited how she felt perfectly. Mason treated her with such chivalry that she felt it was wrong not to give him a gift. Isis gently held onto his hand as he led them upstairs. The brunette followed behind him as if she were new to her own home. She was in a daze of lust, need, and confusion. It was rare that she felt these emotions, and her impulsive nature would have her act on these feelings as such.

The duo entered her bedroom after a few moments, the room where the fun would begin. Isis began taking off her accessories while Mason seemed to be getting more comfortable. Isis turned to Mason with a hand to her earring when he popped an expected question. The siren simply smiled gently before taking the earring off. She held it in her hand as she spoke. "Only the special ones." Isis stated softly. It was true. Isis usually went to a guy's house for these encounters if she didn't have any feelings for him. Mason was the first male she had actually let into her home since the...incident. She felt so safe with him that it was scary to her. Could the coldhearted siren actually be feeling something other than her hormones?! Time was of the essence to find out. She sashayed over to Mason, and whispered into his ear. "I don't just want a hook-up, I want you to make love to me." The seductress engaged in another tantalizing kiss. Isis felt a tingle go up her spine as Mason caressed the back of her neck, enticing a gentle moan from her. Isis confidently knew where this was headed, and there was no turning back. Isis pushed Mason onto the bed and straddled his hips. She planted gentle kisses on his neck as she unbuttoned his shirt...

                                                    ---------------------------------------------Fade to Black/Timeskip-----------------------------------------------

                                                    Hoot! Hoot!

An owl could be heard outside Isis's window as the midnight hour passed. Moonlight danced into the room through the open curtains, and across the bed. Isis's eyes fluttered open as the light graced her orbs. She breathed heavily as her body was beginning to fully awaken. She was greeted by the warm cologne worn by Mason that smelled heavenly. The siren rubbed her face against his chest as she tried to go back to sleep. There was no use. Isis was one of those people who once their body awoke, it was hard to get it to go back to sleep. A bad habit that she developed while stuck on Yamatai, the LoA's secret hideout. Her chocolate brown orbs looked up at the face of Mason. She took in his features as he slept peacefully. Last night had been one of the best nights of her life. It was if something she had been missing for a while was finally being filled and renewed. She was thankful to Mason for bringing her a little joy in the midst of her turbulent life.

A few moments passed when a shadow danced across Masons chest. Isis immediately froze. Her heart began racing as she glanced out the panoramic window of her room. The shadow could have come from the owl. Isis scanned the tree outside her window for signs of the owl. It was still there. Isis gently lifted her head from Mason's chest and reached of the side of her bed. Her hand moved along the underbelly of the bed until she gripped a latch. She twisted it gently, and a gun fell into her hand. Isis slowly rose out of the bed and moved towards her window ever so slightly. The anticipation was killing her. Adrenaline pumped through her veins with every step she took. Swish!Crash! A blade crashed through her window a break neck speed and landed with a thud into her headboard. Isis breathed a sigh of relief that it had missed Mason, but remembered that she had been sitting there not too long ago. Her enemies remained to be unseen. How they managed be aiming at her from out side was beyond her. 'Unless...'Isis's eyes rolled into the back of her head as her power of psychic navigation was activated. She did a quick sweep of the tree outside her window, and found exactly what she was looking for. "Bye, you son of a b***h." She aimed for the area next to the owl, and fired. A man in a black tabi fell from the tree as the owl flew away. Something had told her tonight was going too perfectly. She should have just told Mason to go home instead of stay here after their...session. Now she was placing someone she truly cared about in harm's way. It made her remember why she hadn't had a long-term relationship in forever, and a reminder that it was best not to keep one. If only she had trusted her vision to begin with....

A rumble of footsteps could be heard ascending her stairs. Isis quickly slipped on her bra and some spanks. It was too late. Three ninja burst into her bedroom and began flinging shuriken at Isis. The acrobat skillfully dodged the projectile weapons and fired her gun at the ninja attempting to stab Mason. Instant headshot. "Mason, wake up!!!" Isis yelled as she engaged the next two in hand to hand combat. She swiftly dodged their strikes and countered with a whipping motion of her legs. The two assassins recovered from her kick attacks and began swing their short swords at her. Isis grabbed the hand of one of them just as he brought the blade down upon her. Isis twisted his arm to make him release the blade before lifting her leg high into the air, and bringing it down upon his back. Isis quickly snatched the blade off the ground as the other ninja came at her once again. Two more ninja popped into the room as she called to Mason. "GET UP NOW!" She hoped the male would awaken, and run out of here before he was hurt.

Mason had really been trying to clean up his act. He'd turned from his life of crime and dedicated himself to helping others - especially those who had been targeted by criminals like his past self. Beyond that he had kicked his bad habits, much to his mother's relief, and he had been doing a great job keeping it up... that is, until recently. Maybe it was the stress from having the job of 'saving the world' that'd made him stat smoking again. After that it hadn't bothered him so much to start drinking again as well. And when he drank he always smoked more. He also tended to go overboard. At the very least he wasn't into hard drugs right now. But after falling off two wagons, it was hard to see much reason to stay on the third.

So here he was, about to sleep with some stranger he'd found in a bar. Isis assured him that only the 'special' men were invited back to her apartment and he smirked. The last time he's been called special it had been as a teasing insult from a family member. And he couldn't suppress a chuckle at the next words that rolled off her tongue. He wasn't even sure he knew what she meant but it sounded romantic. Like in the movies. His chuckle was cut short though as her lips found his again and cut off any comments he may have made.

The most exciting part was when she started pushing him around. He loved a strong, confident woman. This one was a tiny little thing, so he felt like he needed to be gentle with her. Tall, curvy ladies were usually more his type, but he definitely wasn't exclusive to them, as evidenced by tonight. To say he'd seen his night going like this when he'd left the tower would be a lie, but he wasn't going to fight it. He hadn't had this sort of fun in a while - with another person that is.

                                              _______________________________________________

It didn't take long after for Mason to conk out. And once he was out, it was like a light. After a long day and some late night fun, he was all tuckered out. Although it may have been wiser to get himself home rather than spending the night. But he wasn't exactly known for his good decision making skills. To be honest it was nice to get out of Watch Tower for the night. He didn't mind living there and he did like (most of) his teammates, but he did need a break from them every now and then. Some time to himself, or some fun with a stranger.

Isis began to stir but he didn't so much as twitch an eyelid, aside from his chest rising and falling with every slow and steady breath. As the window broke it began to tug him out of the sound sleep he was in, his arm moved to scratch as his chest, only vaguely aware of his surroundings, hearing Isis's voice at least reminded him that he wasn't in his own bed. The sudden commotion soon followed and he rolled over to get up, but not quickly enough for Isis as she had started shouting at him. "Jesus..." It was when he heard a second gunshot and the room burst into a battlefield that it all registered and like magic he was no longer the least bit tired. Fight or flight. It was hard to sleep when his blood was pumping so fast, he'd learned that long ago.

"Jesus ******** Christ..." It was hard to form a statement with more substance than that. "Alright, ma, I'm up!" As she insisted he get up a second time, he made it to his feet. Just in time to witness the two ninjas burst into the room. he sucked in a deep breath, and moved instinctively, somehow managing to grab one of them in a headlock. He held on tight. Just three seconds. He counted it out as his body slowly hardened into its iron form.

After the three seconds it took to shift forms, there was no escape from his grasp. There was only a small boost of strength with his ability, but he could hardly move his iron form, there was no way anyone else would even have a chance without some impressive super strength, or a very large magnet. It had been some time since he'd choked a guy out. "What the hell is going on?" he asked, relatively calm in the scuffle as he dropped the unconscious form of one of the attackers to the ground like a bag of rocks. He'd never murdered and he didn't plan to, but looking around he'd already found at least one body.

Isis handled it well, by the looks of it she was no stranger to this sort of thing. So what the ******** hell was going on? It was liking waking up into a nightmare instead of from one. Was this God's way of helping him get his life back on track? To literally beat some good sense into him? He definitely needed to be more careful from now on. Then again, how could he have ever expected this to happen?

Isis twirled the blade in her hand, signaling to the ninja that she was not to be underestimated. The former assassin skillfully dodged a combo strike from both of the two ninjas. Block a few kicks, dodge some more strikes. Typical attack pattern. Maybe this is why the LoA wanted her back; to make up for the sorry saps who called themselves warriors. Isis back-flipped towards the wall behind her, allowing her feet to cling to the surface of the wall for a moment. Isis eyed her target before pushing off the wall with the blade extended. She drove the knife straight into the heart of the ninja before flipping over his dead body. "Scared now?!" She asked the remaining assassin. He ran towards her with a battle cry. Without even flinching, Isis flicked the blade straight through his forehead. The seductress mouthed a silent apology. She knew these men were only doing what they were told. She had been just as blind when she worked for the LoA. But even Ra's knew that his strongest were the ones who could think on their own.

Chocolate brown orbs looked on in awe as she watched Mason manhandling the two remaining assailants. Her mouth opened to speak but no words would come out. Hell, who would of thought he had as many secrets as she did. "I knew your physique was too perfect to be normal." Isis commented, her playful response acting as a juxtaposition to their currently dire situation. Isis retrieved the weapons off of the fallen warriors as Mason finished off the last of them. She tossed the weapons into a duffel bag that held the majority of her wardrobe. Isis took note that Mason hadn't killed the two assassins he took on which could potentially be a problem in the future. His level of restraint surprised her considering how unrestrained he had been when the two of them were alone. Of course that was a completely different situation altogether! Something told her that his restraint was because he not only had powers but had been doing this hero thing a lot longer than she had. "So, when were you gonna tell me about your metahuman powers?" She questioned as she set the duffel bag at the edge of her bed. The gypsy began rounding up Mason's discarded articles of clothing and handed them to him. She sucked her teeth a bit as she looked at him. She hated that the experience had to end like this. Foolish girl... Her powers had saved her life on more than one occasion, but this time she let her emotions cloud her judgement. Isis knew she should have just took the party to a nice diner, or at least Mason's home so that all of this could have been avoided. Who could blame her for feeling something for someone?! Back in the League she was told to keep her emotions locked; some would say emotionally numb. Part of her believes she should have heeded that warning tonight.

"You have to leave, now." Isis said somberly as she grabbed his hand and led him downstairs to the door. The siren really didn't want to let the Iron man go, but there was no point putting him in further danger. Isis would watch as he got dressed before walking over to him. she placed her right hand on his cheek and rubbed it gently. "I told you there were some things about me that weren't so pretty..." Isis shook her head at thought of her own words. To believe she had finally found a guy who may have been too good for her. What was she going to tell him? She was an assassin trying to run from her past? As if what had just happened wasn't crazy enough. Although she trusted Mason, and wished to keep him close, she knew it would not be wise to lay it all on him at once. Her chocolate brown orbs locked with his as she spoke. "Thank you, Mason. Don't you ever forget me, alright!?" The brunette leaned in to lock lips with his one last time. Savoring the feel of his tender lips against hers was not one she would forget anytime soon. Isis smiled once more before leaving him to sit on her leather couch. The gypsy was unsure of whether or not Mason had been freaked out by the attack, but she was sure he wanted to leave. As sigh passed her lips with an unfamiliar tremble. She closed her eyes and rubbed her temples as she tried to figure out her next move. As a woman, it felt natural to cry in a moment like this, but Isis was stronger than that. Ra's had not broken her yet.

Mason could honestly say he'd never waken up to anything like this before. He thought his sister's b***h fits were bad but he would have welcomed something like that as opposed to... this. He jumped into action on reflex, his head still hazy from the sleep he'd been torn from. Luckily, his instincts had been able to read the situation just fine. He'd choked one of their attackers out, and once he'd managed to grab hold of the other, he took human form again, pulling an arm back to send a fist into the remaining ninja's face, the brute force enough to render him unconscious. Sometimes the classics worked best. Isis had made a comment about his physique. It was both flattering and a slap in the face to the iron man so he made sure to clarify. "Hey, I work hard for this body," Hands directed attention up and down his form as he spoke. His iron for did come with a bump to his strength, but not in human form.

Blue eyes watched the woman collect weapons and he took note of the bodies. While he hadn't killed any of them, he couldn't say the same for Isis. There were a lot of questions floating around in his head but he had decided to keep them to himself. Why was she being attacked? And who was she?? Maybe it was better not to know everything though. This wasn't the sort of thing he wanted to get himself caught up in. A question from the seductress drew him out of his own thoughts to answer her "Never," he stated truthfully, tone still a little shocked and confused. If he was being completely honest, he's expected to spend a single night with this woman and then part ways with her. "It's not something I like to advertise." On the contrary, he hadn't even told his own family. It just seemed to work out better for everyone. They didn't need to know about his super life, if anything it would only get them into trouble. he couldn't risk dragging them into all the s**t he got himself into. The only person that really needed to know about his ability was him, and of course his superhero team.

She was quick to start collecting his things to hand him. The was the part where he left, he was keen enough on that. As she handed his clothes to him he tried to quickly dress himself though she was handing him things faster than he could get them on. He came out a disheveled mess, but dressed nonetheless.

He nodded as she announced that he had to leave. "Yeah, that's probably best..." It was a grim turn in an otherwise pleasant evening. He almost felt like he should stay and help her... somehow with the bodies. However, it looked like she was getting ready to take of herself, and she seemed to know what she was doing. In light of that he decided to get his own a** out of this and let her worry about herself. She rubbed his cheek and reminded him that there was more to her than just a pretty face, and that not all of it was 'pretty.' Clearly. "Well, we can't all be perfect," he assured her. He had his own ugly past, one that he wasn't going to burden her with in any way. It was another thing he didn't like to advertise. The past was in the past, all he could do now was try to atone for his sins.

Normally he would have made sure that his secret was safe, but all things considered he figured they had an unspoken agreement to keep what they'd seen locked tight in their memories, away from prying minds and nosey pigs. She thanked him - for what he wasn't sure. And pleaded with him not to forget her, to which a smile curled his mouth. He doubted he would ever forget this, even if he wanted to. She left him with one last kiss, that he was perfectly open to, and left him there. "Farewell, Isis." It was a bit of a relief. If she hadn't told him to leave, he'd already been planning on it. If for no other reason than to distance himself from this scene as much as possible. He couldn't be caught here, not now. And ********, did he need a smoke. Years of smokelessness had been tossed out the window shortly after joining the League, it seemed to only worsen his cravings the more time he spent as a member. He savored his cigarette outside for a few minutes before calling a cab to get back to Watch Tower. And thankfully it was still the middle of the night, less notice, less questions. He didn't want to be bothered when he got in, he was going to go straight to bed. In his own bed. By himself. And it was probably how he needed to retire every night from now on. Hopefully he would never have to wake up to a battle with ninjas every again...
