Confident, certainly predatory when his attention is caught.. But otherwise the boy is quiet, brooding, and more interested in letting his actions speak for him. He likes to learn, showing himself to be clever and determined.. Though often his curiosity leads him into trouble. Instinctive, and at times aggressive when he must be, Rin can be kind in his quiet way if given the chance. Perhaps carrying a box for someone, or helping with their Acts.. Of course like any his age he is uncertain in emotional matters. Unlike his brother however the boy has no problem in expressing how he feels, though people may have trouble understanding him. One true way to bring out his softer side is a very simple tactic: Stick around long enough for him to get used to the company. Rin is a pack-natured beast, and weak to the feeling of kinship or being needed. Trust and loyalty is also a vital part of his being, and while his race is very aggressive towards prey and enemies.. to his own group a Knoxi is sweet, playful, gentle, and even protective. Of course it depends on whom he is speaking to.. if someone is relaxed and friendly near him he will naturally try to act the same.
Likes/Dislikes:
Rin is unable to stomach green foods, vegetables and fruits are out of his diet or he becomes violently ill. At times he lacks the humanity to empathize with other students, the Knoxi very much at the mercy of his predatory nature. Admittedly he is uneasy near open flames, enough so that he will back down from a hunt to avoid them.. However his brother's presence can help him tolerate it a little. He actually enjoys performing and the effort that goes into training.. Though his favorite thing by far is a peaceful night outside in his natural form.
Biography:
Born a Knoxi, a horse-like predator found in old forests or the edges of deserts, his kin were hunted to the point of extinction long before the rise of Rome in Italy.. They were the darker cousins of the Kirin’s, Unicorns, and Pegasus; Sibling to the Kelpie and Pooka that haunts the colder lands. Immune to magic of any sort after reaching adulthood, and flesh eaters to boot, these beasts were clever and often found in Packs.. Hunting with grace and strategy to wreak havoc on the civilized tribes of humans and non humans alike. The first people to tame them were the Etruscans, or rather a small sect on the fringe.. Priests that been named Omnan by the people. Later the name was taken by not just the priests but any that could ride a Knoxi, sadly they were few and far between.. and while their intentions had been noble the Omnan spelled the doom for this race. By taming and riding them they exposed the Knoxi to those outside, and as with anything they became symbols of power.. or where hunted for their anti-magic pelts and bones.
The Knoxi were at home in the wilds, rarely venturing out into the world from their forests, until the intelligent races started to push deeper into their homes.. And the Omnan gentled a few of the packs which were the first to be wiped out, with their riders. The race dwindled under the oppressive tide until only the few remained, not enough left to even leave myth in their place.
Clearly enough did survive, as Rin is alive now, but he cannot honestly say he has met another of his kind aside from his mother and little brother.. Though after she passed away it has only been Keigo and himself. They came across this school through the influence of their Mother's old friend, a Kelpie that had promised to look after them. The male pays the funds, but the boys still work to pay for everything else they could need. The siblings often combine acts, or both perform as 'Ponies' to give the Main Acts time to set up their trades. Sometimes Rin will ride Keigo and perform amazing Archery stunts on horseback, yet for some reason his brother will never enter the ring in his human form..

Shifting - He can shift between two forms. His base form is Knoxi, and though he usually sleeps in this form there is no pressure to shift between them.. He can stay in either human or knoxi form for as long as he likes.
Enhanced Senses/Body Abilities- Strong, fast, and very sensitive to the world around himself. His hearing, smell, and sight are very acute.. which can also be used against him.
Arcane Immunity - Since reaching adulthood for his race he has become immune to magic of any sort, good or bad. He can slip through a barrier unnoticed, not breaking the magic but instead passing through without disturbing the spell at all.
Ranger/Hunting Skills - Archery, Tracking, and minor Ecology knowledge. He has some skill with knives.. But not much, he is learning.
Other:
Rin suffers from Anthropophobia (Fear of people or society) and Arsonphobia (Fear of fire.) He can tolerate both during the shows, but if given the choice or the chance.. he'll avoid them like the plague.
