As Freunde continued to walk, she took a moment to observe another tunnel. It was much darker and a bit damp from steam, and she wondered if she should try down there. She did take a few steps in, but it was so hot that the steam burned her just a bit too much for comfort. She hastily retreated, not wanting to bite off more than she could chew.

Taking another sip of her Water, Freunde tucked it away. It was running a bit low and she still had lots of energy, despite her losses. She found a better tunnel to try going down, and she kept her eyes peeled as she went for any items of value. Her ears remained alert and held high to warn her of any approaching Pokemon.

Ice Rock
Her eyes found something before her ears, though. A familiar shine drew her attention to the wall, and after just a bit of digging, another Ice Rock sat in her palm. She smiled and tucked it into her bag - she knew some Pokemon needed them to evolve, so perhaps taking a pawful of these in for the traders guild would be a suitable exchange for the water.

Ice Rock
Next to the Ice Rock, something else shimmered under a layer of dust. Freunde dug it out and found another Ice Rock, almost identical to the one in her hand. Perhaps it had been one large one that had broken in two over the years. Satisfied that she was starting to find some good items, she placed it with its brother before heading off down the tunnel once again, eyes and ears alert.

The smell of fresh air drew her down a different tunnel. She must be close to an exit, and that was fine with her. She'd had a rough time in the mountain this time around, and calling it quits for the day wasn't a bad idea. Still, she kept on the lookout for any items or Pokemon. She didn't want to go out of this having lost all of her battles, after all.

Zubat
A familiar flapping sound made Freunde look up. There, above her, was a Zubat flying around lazily. It was different from the one earlier - a bit smaller, fatter. Perhaps this one would be her win that would turn her day from sour to sweet. She readied herself for an attack, watching and waiting for the perfect opening.

This time her aim held true. A quick Poison Sting was shot up to the Zubat and, while it wasn't very effective, it sent the Pokemon spinning out of control to splat against a wall. The Pokemon flew away, obviously stunning, and Freunde had to laugh a bit. Phew! She still had it. Feeling much better, she continued on her way to the exit. This hadn't been too much of a waste.

Geodude
As she drew close to the exit, a familiar face watched her from the darkness. Freunde narrowed her eyes at the Geodude, a growl leaving her lips. She didn't want to go down again, but this Geodude needed a lesson! She saw it reach for a boulder to throw her way, and she knew she had to act. She wasn't going to let the Geodude win this time!

Once again, though, she was too slow. She had to change her attack to a dodge, and just barely missed being hit. With a frustrated cry she turned to the exit, the Geodude sending a few more smaller rocks her way. What a bummer! She'd be back, though, and she knew she'd show that Pokemon a thing or two. She just needed to get strong and fast.

She reached the exit without further drama. She checked her small bag: the water was completely gone, but her few treasures made her smile. She did feel a bit stronger despite all her losses and, feeling as though the day still held something good in store for her, headed out of the cave.
