Malik stood behind the counter at his bureau. His face one of focus as he studied and looked over the map he had been working on for the past two weeks. The area was under heavy development and just when he believed to have gotten it right... something changed again. A sigh escaped his lips as he pinched the bridge of his nose. If he didn't get away from this map soon he feared his vision would suffer for it. The thought of glasses didn't sit too well with him.

Altair silently made his way into the bureau and appeared at the door that lead into Malik's bureau entrance. He made it a habit of coming in and out as he pleased, as the other had soon become accustomed to the assassin's presence. "Malik, you look tired." Altair said in a low voice, approaching his second in command and leans over the counter when he's close enough.

Malik looked up only briefly to meet Altair's hooded gaze. "Ah, Altair. What brings you here?" He commented. He already knew the answer. Altair stopped by on a regular basis, mostly for Brotherhood related business but at times it was for drabbles. What it was this time he wasn't certain. A small part of Malik hoped it wasn't something related to the Templars for once. If he heard they overtook another section - or if the information was anything related to this damned map - he would probably had wished Solomon's Temple had taken his life.
"Is something wrong...?" He paused and studied Altair, waiting for an answer. Praying it was nothing Templar related.

Altair looked at Malik's concerned face and reached out to touch his cheek. He smiled very faintly and stared into the other's man's eyes. Malik looked tired.
"Nothing is wrong, Malik. Unlike my other visits, I simply came to see you. No business today." he said and looked down at the map he was making. Altair was never sure if Malik made maps as a hobby or a job. He took it as seriously as a job but always seemed to make them as if they were a past time.
"Perhaps we should relax today."

A wary face took a little relief at the touch and then the revelation of non-templar discussions. Even a small smile twitched at Malik's lips before he sighed. "I'm relieved to hear that. I'm not sure how much more bad news I can take today." He motioned for Altair to come around the counter. "Shall we go sit down?"
His feet ached from standing all day. Making maps no less. If one were to ask Malik why he made the maps he would struggle to find the answer. At first it was a job. Something Al Mulam gave him to do. At some point he became fixated on making the maps as realistic as he could to the actual things. Not so much in the way they were drawn but where each place was located. He did not need their brothers out there with outdated maps.

"What is this bad news you speak of?" Altair asked and makes his way over around the counter. He enjoyed the idea of laying on some pillows with Malik, but the idea of there being matters to attend to concerned Altair for the moment.
The Master Assassin, however, realized that life must be enjoyed and savored, and he would do so with his right hand at his side, through the thick and thin.
"I hope it is not pressing to interrupt our night together." he said simply and walked over to Malik. He gently placed a hand on Malik's hip and reached out to take the quill away from his weary hand.

Malik shook his head. "Nothing aside from the usual... I've been tracking Mojag, the assassin who compromised the Brotherhood. And keeping an eye on the new templars spawning in the area." He paused when he felt a hand on his hip and went to step back, almost as a reflex. He forced himself to calm down and relax, allowing the Master Assassin to remove the quill from his hand. "The latter is what has me concerned."

"I see.." Altair said simply and put both his hands down by his sides as he looked at Malik. He wondered faintly if Malik did enjoy his company after all. He walked past the other Assassin and went towards the back end of the bureau where Malik kept his room.
"Mojag has not been a concern at the moment, but the new Templars are. We do have now the services of Edward Kenway. I believe he and his crew can prove to be a powerful force." He said in reassurance and raised his hand, moving his finger index finger at Malik and starts to make a "come here" motion.

Malik grimaced at the thought of the new pirate assassin. "The man is a devil, Altair." He stalked after the other assassin quickly to catch up. "He is out of control, reckless, and does what he pleases for his own self gain. Someone like that is bound to make a mess of things." If his words stung, all the more better. Altair had cost them a great deal of problems when he was reckless. Malik had no doubt in his mind this pirate would do the same. Feeling a headache coming on again he pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Can we... discuss this tomorrow, Altair?" He wouldn't out right admit it but he was exhausted. Mentally more so than physically.
