[Berath has been approaching dragons who have show (or whose riders have shown) interest in the rumours of the rogue gold rider starting her own settlement. Some of them have been called up to the hot springs! If you would like your dragon and rider to be amongst those invited just let me know.]They arrived early and waited, the rider seated on the dragon's head with his hands folded on top of his cane They would come. Perhaps not all, but some would and some was enough for now. Things would start to gather momentum soon he had no doubt and there would probably be backlash. Nevermind that Trine was overpopulated, they would not like to lose riders to Euclid. What would happen when his own role in this was discovered? He tried not to think about that. He waited. ________________________________________ Back at the Weyr Z'iv approached his friend's hut and rapped lightly on the door. He'd debated this and in the end decided that, well, he didn't want to go by himself to this... well whatever it was. He didn't fancy the idea himself but he knew it would make Zetath happy and that was more important to him even than his own comfort. "Hey, T'rel? You in? You got a minute?" Standing behind his rider Zetath hissed, tail flicking. He wouldn't let the green think anyone was more interested than he, more driven to grasp this opportunity. Every second wasted grated on him, burned like the touch of Thread.

Trel , hearing Z'iv's voice, went to open his door. He flashed his friend a smile. "I think I can spare a few," he teased. "Why, what's on your mind?" Was something bothering him? He gestured to his cot. "Come sit," he invited him. "I've got klah brewing." He had a feeling his friend would be needing it.
Lunath had spotted Zetath from her wallow; and had quickly made her way over to him. Zetath! Play with me? The green was fond of the black; and tended to forget each rejection to play he shot at her. We can go swimming! She paused, You seem tense. Is something the matter?

matter,> snapped the black, am occupied with important matters. I don't have time to humour you.> Then, to his rider; dare stay for klah.>
Stepping inside Z'iv nodded distractedly to his dragon before offering T'rel a lopsided smile and shake of his head. "Can't stay Sweetheart, I've got an appointment... but I thought I'd invite you along." He couldn't linger long but the lithe rider did take the indicated seat for the time being, flowing into it and smoothing a hand through his dark hair. "If you want to come we can always take it in a flask," he added while he tried to decide how to start talking about this. Usually he was one for playing with words, smoothing everything over with silk and sugar but maybe today wasn't the time for that.
Sitting forward with his fingers laced Z'iv said; "Zetath wants to leave Trine."

Why not? What are you doing? Are you going somewhere? Do you have somewhere to be? Oh! Is it a secret? Tell me, tell me! If Zetath thought something was important: so important that he did not want to swim or play, Lunath certainly wanted in on it! What important matters? Tell me, Zetath! Can I come? This was all terribly exciting! Zetath knew something she didn't!
"An appointment?" T'rel echoed, blinking. "What sort of appointment?" He was baffled, and yet, was glad Z'iv had thought to invite him. "Of course I'll come," he assured the man. If Z'iv was going, it couldn't be all bad, could it? He sat across from Z'iv, nodding. "We can do that. ...Wait. Leave Trine?" His eyes widened. "Why?"

<Dearest Rider, remind me why I don't bite her face?> Zetath growl-sighed to Z'iv.
was the reply.
The black huffed; fine then. he replied curtly.
"Uh. Yeah." Z'iv sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, you know the rogue gold rider? Seems she's building a Weyrhold, and things are going to be different there. Flights won't determine who's in charge, and any dragon can get to be anything if they prove they can do it. I... well I don't really want to go, it'll probably be dangerous and it certainly won't be very comfortable at first but...." The tanned rider trailed off and waved a hand towards the door, feeling that this explained just about everything.

T'rel couldn't believe what he was hearing. Z'iv--no, Zetath, wanted to leave the Weyr? When he had been an apprentice, coming to the Weyr had been his dream. Things had certainly changed since then, he supposed. "A Weyrhold," he echoed, blinking. Any dragon could be important. While he doubted Lunath would be interested in gaining rank--he certainly was!
He put a hand on Z'iv's shoulder. "I've heard that dragons always know what's best for their riders," he muttered. "Think of it, Z'iv. You and Zetath leading a wing! Life here is dangerous. And we're cramped. Its uncomfortable. I'll come with you."

T'rel's enthusiasm was always endearing even when he was talking out of his Harper a**. Dragons were people as much as people were, just as imperfect. Z'iv smiled and shrugged, reaching up to give T'rel's hand a squeeze. "Sure, Sweetheart." He didn't want to lead a wing... but there would be other opportunities there, ones he might be interested in. That weighed against the reasons he didn't want to go left him ambivalent and weighing that in turn against what Zetath wanted made it no choice at all; they'd go, and they'd see what they could make of it.
"If you wanna come with we'd better get moving I guess. Don't want to keep the master waiting, he doesn't have a reputation for being the most patient of men," Z'iv went on as he got back to his feet. "Oh, you got a flask or something to put the klah in? That might put him in a better mood."

T'rel got to his feet. "Yes, of course," he said, going to the pot of klah he had made earlier. He took out a flask and filled it. "Who is this master? Do we know him?" He didn't know what would be in store for him, but if Z'iv was going, he would at least listen to what this leader had to say. And hope that klah make him happy. Ready for something different, Lunath?
Are we going with Zetath? Let us go! This will be exciting! Zetath, mine says we are coming to! So we'll play in your unprejudiced, non closed minded place!

Z'iv shrugged slightly and shook his head. "Maybe you do but I don't, know who he is but I don't know him. His name's Bereck, came from Malvren when the Wherholders took it. Bright red hair, walks with a cane? Zetath found out about what's going on from his dragon, Berath." As he spoke the black rider headed for the door and stepped back out into the overcast humidity.
Zetath gave a derisive snort and stooped so that his rider would get the hint to climb up quickly and stop chattering. he replied to Lunath,

"Don't know him," T'rel said with a shake of his head at the description. "Might've seen him once or twice." He followed his friend, blinking up at the overcast sky. If he did decide to go to this Weyrhold, he knew he would miss Trine. It held a multitude of memories for him. But this new place--he would make new memories there, he was sure. Especially with Z'iv there. "Lunath seems almost as excited as Zetath," he said, grinning as he approached his green.
He made sure his riding gear was set before climbing aboard. "Right, Lunath, follow Zetath."
Zetath says there won't be time for playing, Lunath complained. There is always time for playing!

"Well, let's go then," Z'iv agreed with a nod, quickly mounting his own dragon and securing the harness around himself.
As soon as his rider was in place Zetath jumped into the air, beating his wings powerfully to gain height. he passed an image of the springs to Lunath, which he had received in turn from Z'iv. Without further preamble he vanished from the Weyr.
Moments later he popped back out of the void, circling above the hot springs but avoiding the thermals they created, he didn't actually want to climb higher into the sky. he sent to the huge green on ground level, including Lunath too.
-------------------------
"Humm." Bereck looked up at the pair of young dragons, his lips slightly pursed.
The scarred green, still being used as a seat, sent out a feeling of welcome to the other green and the black.
