"Thank you, Dorian," Alphonse nods pleasantly, as the pulling speed of the okapi's cage has doubled. He gives a good-natured chuckle at the menagerie comment, shaking his head slowly. "Ah, but this is but the beginning of the 'zoo.' I am certain over time there will be an even larger variety of animals to come."
He starts to walk up the beach with the cage, heading towards a building half-hidden amongst the underbrush of the jungle. He puts down the rope, going over to unlock the large doors before opening them and taking up the rope again, pulling the okapi's cage in with Dorian's help and lining it up next to a wall -- he'd put it in a stable later.
Once that's in place, Alphonse gets ready to head back to the dock to collect the next cage, going back and forth between the arrival bay and the dock until all of the animals are securely locked up in the kennel with the help of the sailors and (hopefully) at least one newcomer.
By the time the group goes up the mountain, early evening is starting to set in. The newcomers are shown the boarding house and given keys to the rooms they've picked. Respective belongings are dropped off, as are the rabbits to Moreau's small house. Alphonse informs each of the newcomers that animal assignments will be done later.
