Currencies
There are three forms of currency in the world, each more valuable than the last, and therefore, less commonplace.
Copper: The least valuable of the world's currencies, copper coins are worth very little. Commonplace, these are carried by most people as throwaway cash, sometimes literally, as they can often be found lying about if one looks closely enough in the right places. Only the cheapest of goods can be bought with coppers.
Silver: A single silver coin is worth one hundred coppers. This is the middle coin in the currency system, and the most common. Most goods and services are paid for in silver, thus, while maybe not in such quantity, these coins are also commonly carried by most everyone.
Gold: The most valuable form of currency, gold coins are worth one hundred silver, or ten thousand copper. These coins are not nearly as common as either of the other coins, and are generally only used for the more valuable purchases one might need to make. Nobody carries large numbers of these coins, unless they plan to buy something shortly.
Earning Money
Missions: Missions are the most common way for ninja to earn money. There are six ranks of missions that can be performed, and each pays a different amount upon completion.
E Ranked Missions: 10 Silver
D Ranked Missions: 30 Silver
C Ranked Missions: 60 Silver
B Ranked Missions: 1 Gold, 20 Silver
A Ranked Missions: 2 Gold, 40 Silver
S Ranked Missions: 4 Gold, 80 Silver
These rates are the amount a single ninja can expect to earn upon the successful completion of their mission. Mission clients pay the village in advance, paying the proper amount for the number of ninja they wish to hire, plus the village's commission fee, which is determined by the village council, and added to the village coffers. If the mission is a failure, and the client still alive, the ninja only receive half their pay, rounded down, and the remainder is returned to the client. If the client is dead, the village keeps the remaining half. If backup is required and more ninja are sent, the village pays for the extra ninja. Village paid missions have no commission.
Current Commission Rate: 10%
Executive Pay: Council Members receive a 2% commission on the total income of any successful mission they assign. The village pays this commission.
Alternative Missions: Some acts of benefit to the village not normally listed as missions; acts of bravery, skill, or even just luck, are rewarded with Mission credits, and a monetary reward as well. These pay according to how much MP the credit is worth.
1 Mission Point = 10 Silver
Teaching Credits: Teaching jutsu to other ninja or leading a mission for lower ranked ninja is rewarded by the village with Teaching Credits, and a small stipend.
1 Teaching Credit = 1 Silver.
Bonus Pay: Ninja who actively perform missions for the village, building up their MP, are given bonus pay periodically for completing a mission. Beginning at 18 MP, this pay is given every time the ninja's MP doubles. The pay granted is Silver coins of equal number to the MP grade at which the pay is granted. This money is paid by the village.
The points at which pay is awarded are as follows.
18, 36, 72, 144, 288, 576, and so on, doubling every time.
Allowance: By the decision of the council, it has been decreed that every registered ninja or academy student of the village receive a small allowance to support their costs of living in addition to their usual mission pay. This stipend is set according to the individual's activity and rank, and following, their needs.
To receive your allowance, each individual must post in the banking thread at the end of each week, as the allowance is only given on Saturday. Further, the character in question must be in the village to receive their allowance. Any missed allowances may still be received at the next opportunity.
Allowances are gained according to the character's activity, and as stated previously, rank. For every post made in the RP, that character is allotted one payment, from the following scale.
E Ranks [Academy Students] receive 10 Copper per post.
D Ranks [Genin] receive 15 Copper per post.
C Ranks [Chuunin] receive 20 Copper per post.
B Ranks [Special Jounin] receive 25 Copper per post.
A Ranks [Jounin] receive 30 Copper per post.
S Ranks [Elite Jounin] receive 35 Copper per post.
Treasure Hunting: When a ninja has found something, or possesses something of worth, they can sell it to an NPC shop or another character, for whatever price the buyer is willing to pay. It is often profitable to keep an eye out on missions for anything of value hidden in the terrain, or on the bodies of your fallen enemies.
