The quiet was nice.

Even as he stood in the middle of the massive cave like structure that was embedded in teh side of the town, he enjoyed the breeze and the stillness of the ancient city. Very little had he actually enjoyed of it, and its embrace was something that he knew would not last as long as he certainly desired. His left hand, gloved like his right, remained by his waist. His stance was stoic, though slightly leaning to his right, with his right hand holding his Titan's Edge over his shoulder as he looked towards the opening where he knew Kalay would be coming.

It would be interesting really, him having to face his old instructor in this combat scenario. Originally, he never really thought that he would ever have to do something like this, even if it was for a casual tournament of sorts but oddly enough, he was looking forward to it. His face was easily defined as complacent if anything else, but there was an eagerness in his eyes that certainly signified that he wasn't afraid to participate in this. Even as he held his breath towards his arrival, he shook slightly with an anticipation. It was not confidence, or at least overconfidence. He just knew he was not going to break in blind emotion at the slightest fallacy that he made. His right hand slowly descended with his blade to be by his waist, holding it very easily as his left hand moved closer towards it, simple preparation as his opponent approached.

He said not a word.

Kalay was walking calmly down the center track. Carbuncle a few steps behind him, walking at the same pace with her ears up and alert. Kalay, on the other hand, seemed relaxed as could be as he walked, actually offering a yawn. His sword was resting firmly in it's sheath and his staff, somewhat retracted, was in it's vertical clasp on his back so as to make it easy for him to move and not have to worry about it with his hands in his pockets. He had to be honest, it was a bit unusual to be fighting one of his old students. He couldn't say he'd have ever expected such a fight to begin with, so he wasn't exactly sure how to approach this. He was also torn between actually caring about the fight or not caring at all. Carbuncle, on the other hand, was alert as could be and seemed to be actively searching for Riyel as Kalay walked down the tracks. It was a rather long way down, so he wouldn't normally say he was comfortable with this area for fighting.

Except the ability to summon up his wings made him have so little concern for the drop he really didn't care. "Found him." "I'm not surprised in the slightest." Kalay stated as he came to a stop and turned his yellow eyes to the side, up to the indent in the building like structures with a lack of concern to his posture that just seemed to personify Kalay. "Hey. I'm not going to walk all the way over to you." Kalay called out to Riyel, Carbuncle taking to sitting next to Kalay as she watched the cave intently. Kalay's left hand had left his pocket and was now resting on his swords handle, but he hadn't drawn it yet.

If there was one thing he was most pleased about, it was that Riyel didn't know he had wings. And he had little intention of just letting Riyel figure out that he was a Sorcerer. It would make the surprise so much better. Carbuncle didn't seem happy with the whole situation though. He could tell because she wasn't saying much to him.

"Neither am I." He called out, his voice easily carrying throughout the silence, "You still look like a bum." He watched Kalay and Carbuncle closely, quickly eyeing the environment around them before giving a smirk. His eyes looked manic. He still didn't know if this fight would be of the utmost seriousness or if Kalay would take it casually....it seemed Riyel would have to influence that decision wouldn't he? "Why don't you fly over here then?" He teased, joking towards his old instructor before raising his hand. "Firaga!" The huge blast of fire erupted from his palm not at Kalay, but hitting what held the track up underneath him, hitting towards the left a little from where he was actually standing, exploding underneath him in an attempt to collapse the bridge from under him, or at least damage him maybe with flying pieces of wood. But at least to get Kalay to move. And it was in that moment that Riyel focused, as soon as he had launched the Firaga, he charged forth, leaping onto the rooftop below him before leaping, Elliot the Dragon appearing underneath him and fluttering towards the standing tracks, turning its head towards where Kalay had been and unleashing a massive blast of its smokescreen attack towards where Kalay and Carbuncle had been, the blast reaching almost exactly to where he and Riyel were landing, . It was funny because Kalay had never really met Elliot just as Riyel knew not of him being a Sorcerer. Time certainly made things different.

Riyel kept his gunblade drawn though, as he landed about thirty to fourty feet away from where Kalay had originally been, the smokescreen covering the tracks about ten to twenty feet in front of him as he awaited Kalay's response. Elliot had took to flying once more, staying in support mode. He had to be ready for whatever his old instructor would throw at him. They hadn't been in the air long, and Riyel hoped to hold an advantage with the smokescreen. The flight itself had been about five to ten seconds in length, the little Dragon having fluttered before depositing his companion on the tracks to truely commence this fight.

Kalay hardly seemed to care that Riyel called him a bum, in fact he just shrugged, showing a complete lack of concern over the matter. If Riyel wanted to call him a bum, he very well could. Carbuncle shifted uneasily as Kalay stood there with his hands in his pockets, watching Riyel. It was when Riyel raised his hand that Kalay's eyes narrowed. Kalay was already moving by the time the spell was cast, moving along the track much faster than any normal person could run. Carbuncle was following next to him, a flash of a clock seeming to spin faster around Kalay as he watched Riyel. Carbuncle had cast haste on Kalay. As Riyel summoned his Gf and landed on it, Kalay's hand snapped out. Riyel had made a very fundamental mistake. "Aero." Before the dragon could even open it's mouth to spit out it's smog, Kalay had effectively stopped all hope of it flying.

Wind snapped out around the pair, making it impossible for the tiny dragons wings to even hope to take flight. Given the unlikely chance of the pair being able to dodge, given they were both in the air and that Riyel weighed down the tiny dragon by a vast amount, it was a pretty safe assumption for Kalay to assume the pair would be regretting their decision almost instantly. Even if Elliot tried to continue it's smog, Kalay was already well out of the way from him, having not stopped moving since Riyel's fire attack as he moved down the track.

"Mayday!" A word that Riyel could actually agree with the little dragon on as the Aero struck them, both gritting their teeth as Elliot squawked out, his little wings glowing white. Riyel felt almost immediately relieved from pain...but there were other things to worry about at this moment. Like them falling. As Elliot's wings started to crumble from the force, Riyel pointed his hands down while his legs held on for dear life, the little dragon managing to open his wings as they began to plummet. JUST HOLD ON! He commanded, "Fira!" Two large jets of flame shot downward, catching Elliot's wings underneath and ending their plummet as quickly as it could. They had already fallen about ten feet, and were about even with the tracks, give itfour to five feet above it still.

Riyel turning to see Kalay in the distance as soon as they elevated, Elliot gliding in a slightly downward path, just managing to drop off Riyel in the middle of the tracks. No more stupid s**t. He breathed heavily, looking towards Kalay. Elliot squawked and floated by his master before flying towards Kalay as Riyel began to jog, the little Dragon gliding past Kalay to be on the opposite side of him, fluttering with his little wings in the air about ten to fifteen feet away from him, releasing a blast of the smog as he landed. Hopefully, to cover Kalay in it as Riyel continued moving up the tracks
towards the fight.

"Really, not your smartest move." Kalay called out, watching as Riyel plummeted. He was impressed to see Riyel's quick thinking, watching as Riyel used a fira to get himself back up. Kalay shook his head as Riyel tried to take to the air again, pulling his hands into his pockets. This fight could have been over already by his mistake. If Kalay had chosen to drop him again with another Aero, he'd have a considerable amount of trouble getting up onto the railing. "Protect." Kalay muttered, the blue barrier forming around him before fading away as he let Riyel fly to the track.

"Carbuncle." A silent message passed between the two as the tiny dragon flew towards them. Kalay watched as it moved to fly around him before suddenly darting, rendering it's smoke screen useless as Kalay darted along the track to Riyel. It would take Kalay little over a few second seconds to reach Riyel when he started running, and during the run he'd pulled his staff from his back, it elongating as he ran. Carbuncle, meanwhile, was running a few steps behind Kalay, her attention focused back on the tiny dragon.

No more mess ups. Riyel thought to himself as Kalay called out to him, pointing out his stupid mistake. He felt no need to respond in any sort of defense...because it was true, obviously. As soon as Elliot missed in his attack, Riyel's face grew sharp with anticipation towards the oncoming assault. Holding his Gunblade tightly, he awaited until Kalay reached a certain point. "Gravity!" The attack was announced when Kalay was about seven feet away, just as Riyel ran forth and swung his blade vertically, swinging the trigger releasing a large wave of destruction in front of him, aiming to take out Kalay or maim him with the spells loaded...Bio...Thundara...and Fira. This fight is going to be interesting. And this time the thought was not optimistic.

Elliot was chasing after Kalay and Carbuncle, especially Carbuncle. What could he say? He was hungry and there was a little rabbit hopping near the opponent that looked...so...delicious! He soared after the duo, his wings glowing once more as a faint blue shield went around Riyel's form before vanishing. However, right as Riyel cast Gravity, Elliot soared downward and tried to claw at Carbuncle in one desperate strike, the little dragon fading off as his time in this world ended.

There was a faint sound of irritation as Riyel used Gravity, Kalay stopping ubruptly as he shifted his weight back, feeling the crushing feeling of the gravity spell nearly bring him to his knees. The effects on his body weren't pretty, and it hurt like hell, but he didn't break anything so he was still capable of moving. He might have cracked something though, which he wasn't happy about as Riyel triggered his weapons function, Kalay throwing himself back instictively as Elliot went down to strike Carbuncle, whom was nimbly backtracking with Kalay and easily avoided the dragon that was fading. A red light surrounded Kalay as he threw himself back from the explosion of Riyel's rounds. If he hadn't made it obvious he was going to attack with Gravity and halted Kalay's advance anyways, his full use of his gunblade might have hit him. He'd actually caused his own plan to backfire by stopping Kalay cold in his movement with his Gravity.

A red barrier surrounded Kalay as Carbuncle faded, Kalay coming to a stop as the wind around him suddenly kicked outwards. The wind rushed out as wings formed on his back, the vibrant hues stretching as he flicked his hand back, a spear forming in his right hand similar to what Sylph's spear looked like. "Judgement Lance." and the spear was thrown and took off like a bullet, aimed not at Riyel, who could have dodged the flying lance, but at his feet, where when it impacted, it exploded tearing away the immediate area on which Riyel was standing, which would send him plummeting to the void beneath him. Kalay stood up firm, holding his staff in his left hand while he waited to see what happened to Riyel.
