A short distance down the road from the Stohess district lies a meadow. Within it the road from Stohess splits several times to fan out across the region between the Wall Rose and Sina and all of their respective towns. Though the area is important for that it has a much more sentimental value to humanity. The meadow with its lush green grass, expanses of wild flowers, and flowering colorful trees is a beautiful life filled scene that inspires hope. Twisting through it can also be found a small creek, Blossom Meadow is the closest thing to a park humanity has left and as such is frequented for recreational purposes.

Yuka was laying sprawled out on her stomach in the grass. She had left the path some time ago and gone off to wander along the edge of the creek. She had no real plan in mind when she did it, just a whim as she so commonly had. Of course the wandering had ended some time ago as well. Now she was hidden away in a patch of wild grass and flowers tall enough that it almost obscured her body from sight. She felt some blades poking through her clothes at her but for the most part the feel of the grass on her skin was a nice and welcome change. Besides she was much to engrossed to pay heed to such a trivial discomfort.

Before the prone female was a open book. The pages blank except for the highly detailed drawings. Yuka had a real talent as an artist, but art for the sake of art was a mere hobby to the girl. And today she was enjoying a nice relaxing afternoon engrossed in her favorite hobby. Her subject was a thick growth of purple and blue wildflowers tucked away amoung tall shoots of sweet grass. She glanced up at the flowers every so often before lowering her head again and adding more detail with a fine tipped pen. The image she made was a fine duplicate of the real thing except for one detail. It wasn't a mistake in the art, no Yuka was much too good for that, it was an addition of moisture on the leaves and petals. A thin layer of dew perhaps inspired by the soft trickle of running water she could always hear in the background.

Today was not the usual day, because as the Sun perched itself high in the sky, Lindsey was not at home, listening to more yelling and screaming and more yelling. Peace was hard to come by in the Weaver household these days, especially as the time to be shipped off to military training neared. The brunet passed by flashy boutiques and decorated citizens, their colors nothing but blurs of light moving forward while the teen was stuck in the past. The buildings, high and mighty, slowly receded into the horizon as Lindsey trekked away from the well-off concentrated human district of Stohess.

Step by step, the paved roads slowly turned into that of dirt, the pound of the soles of his feet echoed through the serene lands. Walking away from trouble and worries, away from the sight of any walls felt like he was free. Well… As free as one can be within this self-made prison humankind was constructing. Lin’s expression darkened at the thought of the wall, especially Wall Maria, and took a look around him: He was at a fork, the left twisting and turning into the distance while the right turned a corner into a patch of trees. It was an easy choice for Lindsey, being a teenager in his rebellious phase. He chose, of course, neither, and instead went into the unkempt grassy meadow.

Lindsey continued his endless journey, following the sound of water coursing through nearby. Its sound, the melody, got louder as the boy neared the stream. As if in a trance, Lin followed the whispers of the fluid element, his mind blank. He neither cared if he was stepping on the flora, nor did he care if he accidentally destroyed the home of an innocent animal. However, what the boy didn’t expect was that there would be a human laying amongst the plants. With a yelp, Lindsey tripped over the body of Yuka, then promptly face-planted into the ground.

Yuka frowned at her work and started to tap the end of her pen on her chin. Her eyes wandering up to focus on her subject. Something was missing but what was it. She glanced back to the image in the sketch book and then back to the plants. What could it be? She had to overlooked something that should be there. But what.... She started to spin the pen around her fingers as she stared at the plant. She misplaced one and fumbled the pen which flipped through the air and landed near the flowers. That was it! She had forgot to include the smaller plant near the base with the three small orange flowers.

She smiled at her achievement of figuring out her mistake and reached out to pick up the pen. She didn't even notice the rustling in the grass to her left at all. She picked the pen up and then moved to begin adding in the black outlines from the new plant that should of been just to the side. However she didn't get far. She felt pain as something dug into the left side of her chest. She dropped the pen and started to roll onto her side as whatever it was tried to lift up. It didn't make it very far and neither did she before something came crashing down on top of her. She winced in pain as either an knee or an elbow ended up dug into her side once whatever it was had fully landed on her.

Yuka squirmed a little underneath whatever was on her. She couldn't see what it was but it was just heavy enough to have her pinned down give it was now covering most of her lower body and torso. The more she squirmed though the more that thing dug into her side. Her eyes started to mist up as she winced out loud again. "Ouch ouch ouch. Get off, please, get off me."

The human stomach can dissolve many compounds, able to the strongest and firmest muscles into its molecular constituents. But having an invincible stomach doesn’t mean anything should be shoved down one’s throat, especially if that particular “something” is dirt.

Lindsey, having tripped over Yuka, broke his fall by quickly swinging his arms in front of him to protect the more important body parts. Sadly, though, his reaction time was slower than usual, so with many odds stacked against him, Lin took a mouthful of clumpy soil into his orifice. The teen rolled off of the body underneath him and coughed, let it be from choking on the earth particles or from its unpleasantly disgusting taste. He spat onto the ground and wiped the dirt that clung to his face and clothing, trying to make it seem as if he never fell and ate what he never should’ve. Not that anyone would inquire about Lindsey’s cleanliness or anything.

The boy turned and looked at what tripped him. He found out that, no, it wasn’t a “what”, but a “who.” Well, yeah, the squishiness he felt through his shoes should’ve given him a clue that it would’ve either been the body of an animal (or human) or decomposing matter. Lindsey observed the girl with the long, brown flowing hair and smiled his cocky little smile. “You’re not really good at breaking someone’s fall,” he said.

After the weight a top her left Yuka finished rolling onto her back. She could hear someone coughing and sputtering. That at least told her it was a human that had tripped over her then landed on her. Another groan of pain left her as she forced herself to sit up. She reached across her waist and started rubbing at the spot on her side. It stung a bit but the rubbing was making it feel a little better.

She turned her head to look at the source of the noise beside her. What she saw was a youthful face capped with soft brown hair a few shades lighter than her own. She guessed his age at something in the mid-teens. Currently he was trying to get all the dirt smeared on his face off. Evidently he hadn't faired much better in the landing than she had in the being landed on, at least he was light. After rolling off of her his right leg was still tangled a bit with hers which told her it had been one of his knees that hit her. She pulled her legs in to her side so the leg under the boy's leg was no longer a threat of causing more tripping.

After she did that the boy seemed to look over at her for the first time. She blushed a little under his scrutiny out of a mix of embarrassment and guilt at having tripped him. He flashed her a smile before tossing a bit of criticism at her. Her body stiffened and her cheeks got a little brighter. Yuka raised her eyes to meet his and smiled apologeticly. She noted his attempt to clean up had missed a blade of grass on his cheek. She reached out and pulled it off. "Yeah... Sorry, I'll make it up to you next time. I just didn't expect someone to be tromping through the meadow so far from the road." She was too embarrassed over causing the accident to question being someones pillow.

Seeing the girl reach forward made Lindsey wonder what the heck she was up to. A moment later when Yuka pulled back, he got his answer, which was grabbing a piece of grass still stuck on him away. A kind gesture. Gentle and subtle, but the weight of it was disproportionately high.

The words that came out of her mouth, though, caught the boy by surprise. Honestly, he was expecting some sort of rebuttal, rather than an apology. Did she understand the joking manner of his speech? Or did she actually take what he said seriously? God knows what that girl was thinking, but all Lindsey knew was that he got a really unexpected response. So the teen simply blinked and looked at her, silent and slightly judgmental. One, two, three seconds passed. Lindsey tilted his head and wondered, "Are you stupid?" That wasn't rude or anything.

Though it would be a good test, he thought, for her personality. If Yuka got angry, then that's that: Anyone would. But if, against all odds Lindsey calculated, she was to apologize, then it would irk the brown-haired teen. Granted, a lot of things irked him, but still.

When the boy responded Yuka stiffened. Her eyes flashed in irritation. She wasn't embarrassed any more that was for certain. "Am I stupid? No I'm not stupid! I'm tring to apologize for tripping you." She grumbled at the teen. She half wanted to slap the boy, but he hadn't really done anything to deserve that... yet.

He might of meant nothing rude in it but she wasn't a mind reader. So she just glared at him as she waited for an apology for the insult. Her arms were now crossed under her chest as she watched him expectantly. What are you doing out here anyway? This spot isn't anywhere close to any of the roads."
