They keep winding up the sirens. There is suposed to be a tornado watch all night tonight. OUR town hasn't been hit at all.. but some towns have and hail has been falling all day. Really it doesn't mean very much though because our town is very hilly.. a tornado would hit the edge of the town, pick itself up and then drop back down in a better spot. That is literaly how it works. Tornadoes like flat land that why Kansas and Oklahoma are called tornado alley.. but not Missouri.. because Missouri is full of little hills. But if I don't make a post sometime tomorow or the next day.. well.. within the week somehow.. ^-^ Go ahead and assume the worst. sweatdrop The doctor has abducted me because Aliens are trying to take over my town rolleyes razz

according to the sirens we were suposed to have had a tornado 2 times now and I've lost count of the times we should have taken shelter.. which for us consited of the hallway of an old victorian house that has two holes in the roof... or more. The watch is suposed to last untill 4am here.. so.. yeah.. I'm gonna "die" Or get a bad night of sleep.. whatever...

Good to know our fearless leader is safe! mrgreen

According to the news, 9 people died in Missouri. And they estimate more than a hundred tornados touched down across 5 states. eek Thank god I don't live in a tornado-prone area.

Actually, I did live in Madison, WI for 6 years. They would blow those tornado warning sirens all the time (though I doubt a tornado has ever struck Madison itself). Of course, everyone just ignored them...

Apart from the usual winter snowstorms or the odd remains of a hurricane that blows up from the States, where I live is pretty good. Then again...they cancled school becuase there was supposed to be a freezing rain warning, but there's just been a lot of wind. There's not even any rain. Hehehe...someone messed up.

don't you love that? and then they never cancel when something bad does hapen. about 5 years ago at this time there was a giant Ice Storm that hit this area and they didn't start to cancel classes untill tree limbs had already started falling. and they didn't cancel class after this storm even though a few people did actualy die and the towns sourounding us were flatened.

And actualy I heard that something like 20 people died because of the storms. One of which was an idot lady who took shelter in her car of all places and got decapatated. Seriously.. her husband told her to go into the woods into a ditch that was there and if she had she would be fine now but she took shelter in her CAR... thats worse then your house BTW...

What I hate the most about the national weather is half the time they stand over Northern Ireland, and the only thing they tell you is what is going on in Belfast and that is 42 miles away.

Ah yes, weather reports! I'm originally from new orleans, though I haven't lived there for awhile.

Actually, they did report Hurricane katrina pretty well, and they did say it was heading right for NOLA and everyone should get out. Everyone waited until the last minute until for some it was no longer possible. So they went and relected the same mayor who made all the wrong decisions, blamed everyone else he could think of for the city's problems (which are in fact 100 years old politically, and over 300 years old geographically).

And on a more local issue, they keep telling me it might rain, but it never does, so I have to water my garden religiously.

Thats SO weird because they keep saying it supoed to be sunny and dry but every day for two weeks except yesterday it rained. EVERY DAY!
on the other hand all my plants are popping up like mushrooms.. which I need to go hunting for now that school is out.
