1 Timothy 2:4-6
King James Version (KJV)
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

-2Peter 3:16: As also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Iesu Christo
this isn't about law its about God's law no man can even fathom the very idea of God's justice but I can tell you one thing, he commands us to go to church its in the commandments he commands us to go to a priest its in scripture he commands us COMMANDS! when we think of him we do his will if we don't we are doing our will and it wasn't us who died on the cross and went to heaven it was him.

Please understand brothers and sisters theres nothing wrong with the church unless you think all the churches are the same and have not done research they are all different but the Catholic Church isn't its been the same since Jesus left and told his apostles to continue his work, of course he wouldn't need to cuz hes a all powerful God but that's not how God works, he works through people, hes not just some idol waiting for you to pray to him and all your wishes come true like a genie, hes a loving God and wants us to share his faith here when he was on earth to die to when he goes to heaven.

God bless all of you and I will pray for all of you
You do realise that we were using lawyers and court cases as an analogy, right?

And which one of the Ten Commandments says that we must go to church? Well, I guess that could fall under observing the Sabbath and keeping it holy, but different Christians observe the Sabbath in different ways. Even the day of the week on which the Sabbath falls differs between denominations.

If you think the Catholic Church hasn't changed at all in the last 2000 years, I think you're the one who could stand to do a little more research. When was the last time your parish had a good old-fashioned heretic burning?

Islamic Teacher
I see no reason to have an intercessor between you and God
That is why In Islam there is no priest
We Muslims confess our sins to God Almighty alone
I've actually been meaning to ask you something.

Does Islam have anything similar to the Catholic clergy, or protestant pastors/ministers/reverends, or Jewish rabbis? I'm trying to think of a broader term...like, are there people who lead others in worship and/or give sermons/homilies/lectures, usually for the purpose of relating scripture to daily life? Or if not that, someone to seek spiritual guidance from, like a monk or an elder or...I don't know, a shaman or a mystic? I'm just trying to rattle off all the terms for various spiritual leaders that I know.

Spiritual leader I guess is probably the broadest term. Does Islam have any sort of spiritual leader(s)? Aside from the prophets described in scripture, I mean? If so, what exactly is their role within the faith?
