The home of the Spellweavers is build upon a tall mountain surrounded and a mile of land surrounding its base. The magical origin of the land has allowed it to float miles above the Arctic Ocean in the stratosphere, shielded by a protective dome that acts as camouflage and basic thermal insulation. Being so high in altitude, Spellweavers do not know of rain or any other form of precipitation. Instead, they experience heavy fog every now and then when a polar cloud passes them.
The capital has been carved within the mountain itself and built upon by generations of Spellweavers, giving birth to a sea of tall towers and spires made of ice. As their lands are limited, they do not expand outwards and onto their lands, but instead, build upwards. In average, all housing had at least 9 floors above ground and just as much below while the larger landmarks such as the 6 Towers surrounding the Royal Castle could hit the triple digits mark. It should be noted that one should rarely have the need to step outdoors as almost all of the skyscrapers are connected to each other on multiple levels by a network of bridges and skyways. The Spellweavers are known to mix different compounds into the water they use to build their home to give it shape and opacity. It was their way of mixing arts, sciences and water manipulation which resulted in the unique architectural design of their city and colorful statues scattered throughout their lands. The more ingenious artists also make sure to control the water's crystallization so that sunlight may diffract through it, but this practice has been banned light would grow a bit too blinding to allow safe circulation during Midnight Sun periods.
Farming and other forms of cultivation are mostly done underground where the temperature is slightly more bearable for any for of vegetation. Their main source of nutrition being mosses, lichens, sedges, perennial grasses, and cushion plants which are specially adapted to subzero climate. Although originating from Aetherea, these plants have shown to be able to grow elsewhere on Earth provided the climate is right even without Aetherea's low atmospheric pressure.
The Royal Castle is one of the rare buildings mainly built with stone, stone from the mountain itself, granting it the ability to float some ten feet above ground level amidst the capital. It is framed by 6 Towers that generates an energy field around it. It is said that the field may only be powered off from the inside.
