Kasar pressed his ears back against his head as the group chuckled at him. What? Flowers are nice! he said, looking at his human with a hurt expression. Murphy just shrugged, smiling a bit as Tory mentioned what Lasrial was thinking.
"There," he said, scratching Lasrial under her chin for suggesting such a nice idea. "I think that would go better with your pelt as well." The Hound frowned a bit, but his ears perked up in thought. A comet necklace...that would certainly match him a bit better.
But necklaces don't smell nice, he pointed out. Murphy rolled his eyes, shaking his head slightly. Are you sure you're male? he teased, making Kasar huff softly, his tails twitching.

Tory scratched his ears more as she saw them pressing back against his head more. "Don't worry Kasar I think it is cute. I meant no offense by it." She pet him more trying to show she wasn't trying to offend him. She saw his hurt expression and hugged him for a moment then went back to petting him more. She had seen the small shrug and smiled back at Murphy.
Lasrial smiled and preened as he scratched her under her chin and seemed to like her idea. She nodded and looked over at Kasar. "It would look very nice with your coat Kasar." She grinned and wagged her tails more. That hound was just so cute and she didn't really think he ever needed anything else to make him look better. But that wasn't her place to say anything like that. Tory smiled and nodded. "Though I don't think he really needs anything more he is a very handsome hound."
She saw Murphy roll his eyes and tilted her head. "What did he say?" She heard Kasar huff and smiled at him petting and scratching him more. Wanting to make the hound feel better.

The hug and kind words from human and Hound alike made Kasar fluff his fur up a bit, standing a bit taller in the process. Any nice words said about him went straight to his head, and the hurt expression quickly was replaced by a cocky, confident one. Turning his glowing gaze to Lasrial, he let his tails wag a bit slower, but higher, showing off his confidence.
Thank you. I think it might as well. Maybe some sort of fiery color to go with my markings, don't you think?
"Ah...he said that a necklace wouldn't smell nice, like flowers would," Murphy said to Tory as he shifted to slide his fingers through Lasrial's fur on her neck, and down to her back. "And I asked him if he was sure he was a male Hound. I've never met a man that was so concerned with how things smelled. Although I suppose he does have a better nose than I..."
Kasar nodded in agreement, giving a little huff as if to say 'see, I'm not crazy'. Murphy leaned in just a bit to catch a whiff of Lasrial's flowers and had to admit they did smell nice. Not overly powerful, and it helped with the perpetual doggy breath the Hounds seemed to have.

As the night draws to a close the crowds begin to thin. Finally there are only those left who are either too drunk to walk properly, or those few caught in quiet, intimate, conversation - unwilling for the night to end.
No doubt new friendships have been forged on this night, as is almost always the case. Some of those friendships will last for years, and some will end once the sun rises to cast its light upon the night before.
Many will talk about the Festival for months to come, eagerly awaiting the next one. Many will forget it altogether (unfortunately for them).
But, inevitably, the night WILL draw to a close, and the courtyard will be cleared of all evidence of the revelry that had gone on there. The only thing to ask oneself, then, in the aftermath seems simple enough, though perhaps the answers are not quite so --
