Appearance: A teenage girl of modest height, Kino has a short, practical haircut, and hazel eyes. She dresses androgynously, often wearing baggy biker clothes, as useful attire is more important to her than good looking attire. She's often mistaken for a boy at first glance, at least to those who aren't unusually perceptive.
Her companion Hermes is a motorad, or talking motorcycle. He appears old, dusty and beat up, but is nonetheless reliable.

Personality: (1-3 Sentences) Kino is a curious, nomadic young traveler. Her bravery is both a blessing and a curse, as it lets her satisfy her thirst for knowledge, but also leads her to reckless behavior at times. She tries her best not to interfere in the worlds that she explores, but with her back against the wall, she'll act however she feels necessary.
Bio: A girl with the name of a flower was born in The Land of Adults, a country where children who have reached the age of twelve are taken in for a surgery that will cure them of their personality and dreams in order to transform trhem instantly into responsible, obedient, and unintentionally sociopathic adults. On her twelth birthday, a traveler named Kino visited, and challenged her belief in this tradition. When she questioned her parents about whether the practice was necessary, they tried to kill her, but were thwarted when Kino sacrificed himself to save her. Taking his motorad, Hermes, she fled the country, adopted her savior’s name, and took on his life as a traveler.
Weapons/ powers / abilities: For protection and hunting, Kino carries a .44 single action revolver (called "the Cannon", based on a Colt M1851) that uses liquid explosives in place of gunpowder and a .22 automatic pistol (named "the Woodsman", based on a Colt Woodsman). Later in Kino's adventures in the novels, Kino also uses a pump action shotgun (based on a Winchester M1897) and a semi-automatic sniper rifle (called "the Flute", based on an Arisaka Type 99 rifle), along with a variety of other tools, including knives. She is known to carry no less than five knives on her person, including one which can fire .22 bullets from its hilt. Kino is an unusually quick draw, who practices frequently.
