xoxo The Sherman family originated from Ireland, where they worked as common artisans. Some were merchants, blacksmiths, carpenters, miners... you name it. A jack-of-all-trades kind of family, as it were. The put their youngest boy, Padraic, to work a short time after he turned ten. He learned to work hard and earn his keep, for those who didn't pull their weight, didn't get to eat dinner. When he was young, he did have issues with being asthmatic (most of his family were chain smokers). Not to mention he had a poor immune system, due to the lack of proper nutrition he was receiving at the time.
xoxoAt some point he moved to the city with one of his aunts who had pushed away her rural upbringing. This was when he learned about healthier habits, and how it would affect his asthma. He also enrolled in school, something he had been deprived of for the first ten years of his life. With the help of his aunt, he managed to catch up to the other students several years later. As time passed, he learned to control his asthma, and after conditioning his body, he could even exercise normally and be around smoke for short periods of time. (In fact, he hasn't had an attack in five years, something which he's very proud of. )
[xoxoYears later, he moved away from the city in search of a job more like his family's line of work. This was when he discovered Nivani Island, and received the job as the local wood shop's assistant. The original owners had contacted him via phone after he had submitted and online application. He has recently set out to start working there, and should be arriving via boat soon.
