Gaia Online Name: GrandAkumaShogun
Name: Gan Zhao
Height: 5’9
Weight: 135 lbs
Specialty: Super High School Level Pirate
Personality: Despite his brutal and sometimes bloody trade Zhao is rather outgoing and isn’t one to shy away from potential friendships. Being the captain of a diverse crew allows him to remain pretty open-minded, thus he is rarely judgmental of others. However he does have something of a bad temper if provoked and is known to get violent when angry. Thankfully he usually remains calm and focused, though he is also a man who loves the taste of good alcohol, whether sake or rum he almost always wants to find a bottle or two to down. And while he does enjoy the spoils of a good raid his greatest pleasure in being a pirate is the freedom he feels out at sea, enjoying the sound of seagulls, the feel of the wind and the salty spray of the sea against his skin, and seeing the vast blue ocean and all the bounty she has in store.
Bio: For Gan Zhao, it seemed he was to live a life of freedom, danger, reward, and bonds right from birth. He was after all a descendent of the legendary Chinese pirate Gan Ning “of the Silken Sails” who served the nation of Wu during the turbulent Three Kingdoms period, leading raids against supply lines and taking part in deadly ambushes until his eventual death. From a young age Zhao showed an affiliation to the ocean, enjoying travels on boats across the sea, often standing on the bow to look out at the vast waters and feel the wind on his face.
As he grew older he also began to show skill with swords and guns along with a desire to set out and make a name for himself like his famous ancestor. At the age of fourteen he had built himself quite nicely and went about to look for other sea-capable men, proving himself to be strong and have a good sense of navigation and leadership. A year later he managed to gather enough money to afford his first ship, an antiquated iron-clad steam powered ship, taking time to refurbish it to make it sea-worthy once more and named it, ‘Shāyú’ [Chinese for ‘Shark’].
Within the span of two years he made multiple raids, generally focusing on trade ships and rival pirates, gaining infamy and respected for his ability to lead raid, forming a small fleet of powerful ships, gaining amnesty from multiple nations due to his seeming ability to avoid capture. Soon after his crew, known as the ‘Tigers of the Sea’ he was given an invitation to Hope’s Peak due to his talent becoming obvious as SHSL Pirate. Feeling this to be a new way to challenge himself and improve he accepted the invitation and, after handing temporary leadership of the crew to his trusted first-mate, has set out to Hope’s Peak.
