The goal of this journal is to develop my literacy skills. I have several short stories I am writing so the content of the journal may be varied depending on the story I'm working on.

Moreover, from time to time. Prompts inspired by random things in my day may be written here. These are meant to help me develop my creativity. As well, they may help me develop certain characters.

I will not always talk so formal.

Please PM me if you have any constructive advice or would just like to give me an opinion of my writing. Please and thank you.

Excuse the format. I will fix it as soon as formatting in the guilds is applicable again.

Day 1:

Inspiration: Wrote this when I was about to go to sleep whilst angry at something. I don't really remember what I was angry about.

Sweet dreams little child,
you'll grow up with a smile.
At least that's what I was told,
until I turned vile.

No.
That little girl has gone away.
Swept up by the craziness
of the world today.

(Needs some work. Clearly I need to make some way to make these two verses flow more naturally. Pretty good though, I'm really not very good at poems. Nor rhyming.)

Day 2:

My dear friend,

We have been known each other since kindergarten. We learned our ABCs together, our mathematics, and our common passion: to read and write.

We bonded through the stroke of our pens. The rush of our feelings emitted through our words. The understanding of each other's pain, depression and glee. I listened to every word you wrote to me. I treasured these moments the most.

I must apologize for those times we worked together and I stared at you with a blank face. I never meant to be so blank then. My ideas were your ideas; I simply could not work without you. Or when I hurt you by mistake. I was rather edgy in those moments, wouldn't you say?

You didn't complain at all when I kept wearing that dull blue striped sweater of mine.

All in all, I appreciate what you have done for me and with me. Without you, I would just be another commoner. Not standing out. Blank and expressionless.

I miss you. Write to me more often.

Your Friend,

Ton Papier

*"Ton Papier" is French and translates to "Your Paper" in English

Inspiration: A paper cut from folding those pesky never ending mail from work.

Day 3:

Bright is the night.
Dark is the day.
Deep in your sleep,
out of the fray.

Inspiration: I was trying to get my feelings about escaping reality in the form of sleeping. I liked doing that. Sleeping allowed me an escape even for a little while. I should add on. I really haven't made a lot of poems so this could go well. Noted on my list to do. *Will edit this on the occasion I get to it. Of course, I will put it in a separate post.

Day 4:

He consciously tried to address the problem. Slowly trying to think of a solution before he got overwhelmed.

It was his fault. HAD been his fault. He just couldn't do it. Did not believe he could do it. Everyone was expecting so much. He tried. He really did. He just couldn't. When the day came for him to perform, he disappointed everyone he cared about. Lost the respect he had spent years to maintain.

If only I had tried harder, he thought. This would have never happened. All that pain and shame. His vision suddenly blurred, breathing hitched. He could hear the beat of his heart in his ears. Shaking he tried to reach for the glass of water in his nightstand. When he couldn't he stayed there, under the covers trying to even his breathing.

Calm down. Think of something happy. Think of something else anything. Anything to rid of the suffocating thought.

Inspiration: That would be my anxiety attacks during senior year. This really could use some work. I will really work on it since it seems really useful to my characters in this hetalia fanfic I'm writing.

Day 5:

Meeh, Meeh,
The crowd yelled.
The common speak blazing.

The flocks grow,
the shepherd knows.
He leads with no regard.

The path he takes,
each sheep will make.
On to the safe land they go.

And one poor lamb
who chose her hand,
was lost to them forever.

All is well,
to those who dwell,
in the shepherd's midst.

But what they lost,
the lamb who fought,
would not be blind as sheep.

Inspiration: Fought with someone I know about Miley. I am a Miley fan. I love her as a singer. I could care less about her antics or the phase she's currently in. I will defend her because of people who can't make their own opinions and based theirs on the opinion of the majority. Thank you very much.

Day 6:

Amanda Panda,
what shall I do?
To make your day,
as cool as you?

Not much to say.
Would a "hi" please?
So I say Happy Birthday!
Have a great one. Cheese!

Inspiration: A little cute rhyme I wrote to greet a good friend of mine. It's her birthday today ^^

Day 7:

The Cursed Prince

Not too many years ago, on an autumn day,
the Crowned Prince of NAm went outside to play.
Loved by his people, he was never in danger
until one day, he lost a wager.

A sly young wizard from faraway came.
He tricked the Crowned Prince to play his little game.
The first to fall would lose,
The winner, able to chose
a suitable penance to the one who lost.
To play the game, had a cost.

The first to fall, that Crowned Prince was.
Follow the wizard' beckon he must.
But the crowned Prince called the wizard a cheat,
the previous conditions, he would not meet.

The Prince and his kingdom, the wizard despised.
Back in his tower, he planned their demise.
He would bring the people of the kingdom to their knees.
To offer their prince, only then would he cease.

Months pass, the kingdom in disarray.
War and illness plague d the day.
While at night, in the whispers of the cold,
treachery and treason of many unfold.
Stakes in the air, the angry people's pride,
threatened the King to change the foreboding tide.

The King and his Council could find no other way.
The King hath no choice, he sent his son away.
The Crowned Prince--banished to the wizard's side--
sought one forgotten fellow to whom he could confide.

Alas the wizard and the Prince met.
The wizard chanted, the curse was set.
Use his looks to kill and survive,
he need not food, only attention to revive.
If ever he was forgotten,
he would cease to exist. How he hoped for that to never happen.

Now too many years ago, on this fateful day,
the Prince of Nam was cursed in every way.
Banished by his people to save their own hides,
he left with not a word, nor a whimper as he cried.

A twist
in this tragic tale most had missed.
For the Crowned Prince had brother,
who's loyalty was like no other.
Long forgotten, he took his brother's place.
No one noticed, after all, they had the same face.

T'was he who met the wizard that day.
He who holds the curse this very day.

Day 8:

In Your Eyes

I hate the looks you give me.
Those eyes seeking the truth of my being.
I avoid those stares of yours.

Always giving nothing but a glance.
Careful to not look into those eyes for too long.
Always looking away when you glance my way.
Just to avoid that stare of yours.

I've had enough of people judging me.
Labelling me like some sort of condiment.
Everyone's judgement be damned.
Only yours affects me.
I must avoid that stare of yours.

I turn away so that I don't know what you're thinking.
As if not staring would suddenly make it inexistent.
Scared out of my wits to know what you see in those eyes.
I haven't looked at your eyes in such a long time. I miss seeing them.
Yet I can't bring myself to look--afraid of judgement.
I cannot avoid that stare of yours.

Eventually curiosity wins over.
I look directly into your eyes for the first time in years.
They seem to ask: "What have you become?"
A sea of emotions: both of anger and hate overwhelm me.
"I don't know," I stare back.
Beneath the brown-eyed stare a dim light. Somehow we both understand.

"You are nothing." The mirror said.
