i suggest you spend time trying to accumulate as much gold as possible. gold is what makes the gaia world go 'round.

indeed i do. establish some friendships. being alone on gaia is ever so sad. a lot of people will tell you gold is the most important, but in reality ( no offense to angela up there ) it's really one of the least important things. at it's core gaia is a social media site, much like facebook. it's all about connecting with people and voicing your interests.

To get gold I would go to forums, aquarium, and then play booty grab on the various posts in that forum (: You can get about 1-2k per game.
To make friends you should go to towns and just start talking to people, most Gaians are very nice and fun!

Well, I've been on Gaia for 4 days now, and I've managed 200k. I'm not sure if that's a great amount in that amount of time, but I'm happy with it ^_^.
Step 1: Fish! It helps to have people to fish with so it doesn't become mundane and redundant. (We've already been fishing together so you're doing good so far!)
Step 2: Post, post, post, poll, post, post! It adds up ^_^.
Step 3: Dumpster dive! Who knows what goodies you might find in there! It's located under "Games."
Step 4: Find time to play zOMG! It racks up gold pretty quick and you can find ingredients worth a pretty penny!
Step 5: Learn the market! Find items whose prices have been effected by inflation and abuse! Supply and demand! Buy low! Sell high! Patience and timing are critical in this step!
Now that gold acquisition is covered, for the most part, on to friends!
Best way to get friends is to get yourself out there! Find topics of interest and pour your heart out. Join guilds! The social games are a great way as well. Pretty much every gold acquiring step I've given leads to social interaction. So it's a win/win!
The great thing about Gaia, is you decide what's most important to you!
