xxxAND SO... Tōko was born in Yukigakure whilst his parents were on vaction, however despite the miracle of the parent's only baby boy, the mother had died during childbirth. Before her passing, she had been heard swearing the boy was a curse. His father decided to name the child Tōko no Kazukō-- translated meaning "Winter's Last Curse". However, to avoid heartbreak constantly referred to Tōko as Toto.
Before "Toto" could recall, his father had met another woman-- whom he constantly physically abused. But, despite the abuse, the couple stayed together and they raised the young child together. Tōko had grown to register the new woman as his mother, and loved her very dearly. Although, to protect her son, she instructed the boy to stay in his room at all times, in the shadows where his father wouldn't be able to reach. The boy agreed, and eventually the hiding came to the point he was more ghost white than fair skinned.
His "mother" soon grew tired of the abuse and left Toto's father, but took the child with her so he hopefully wouldn't suffer the same fate. Tōko, cared little, but was uncertain about going outside after all this time-- since he had only been inside, in his room since he was four. And he was seven, now. His mother, once they settled into the new home, decided to start getting him a headstart in the academy, deciding it would be fun to teach him puppetry. Although it took him well over two years to get it right, he rather enjoyed the puppets.
When he was nine, his mother urged him to play outside with the other kids. But the plan soon went wrong, as the moment the young boy stepped outside he seemed to suffer third-degree burns, his white skin bealing away to show skin that looked like it was burnt. His parent quickly took the boy to the hospital, and it took him several weeks to heal from the burns, and even a little therapy to make sure he would still be able to use his limbs. Thankfully, he got to keep everything and everything returned to normal, though Tōko had now to stay indoors, and if he wanted to go outside to be completely covered from head-to-toe so he wouldn't have to suffer the same thing twice.
Following his graduation from the academy, his mother acquired him a couple of pet ferrets, since he was already struggling to keep up with the others, she figured he could use something for comfort. Since then he has kept very good care of the two, and even following their nocturnal patterns for sleep and play. However, despite the love for his ferrets, Hitonomi, the white ferret, had scratched the corner of his eye and ripped it. It never properly healed, and his eyes often dry out easily because of this. 。
